  1. How long is a piece of string?! Ones lifestyle and fiscal capacities, wants and needs is unique to every person. I have a buddy with a wife (no kids but supports a bunch of Thai kids who are orphans and helps poor families). He and his wife have an exclusive Thai based life on 90K AUD a year.
  2. Perhaps its more about; 'Contempt prior to investigation being the barrier to all spiritual growth.'
  3. Whatever or whomever it is its none of my business
  4. I knew a fella who used to pray to a big ol' Morton Bay fig tree in Lavender Bay Park, Sydney.
  5. I left because they kept serving stale bread egg sandwiches
  6. It can be the power mad, resentment ridden, crazy-as-a-loon chairman at any meeting lol ????????
  7. I'm up for all sorts of identifications for members seeing as many may suffer from alcoholic blackouts and be unable to self-identify if asked. lol ????. A recent, more toned down snap of me. Please note a considerable lessening of facial piercings in support of reduction from my previous more extremist anarchist leanings.
  8. There is a reason the French, and those societies they have come in contact with adopted from them the use of fresh water to wash their nether region for centuries now. When the English were dusting themselves with all manner of scented powders and not washing for weeks and months at a time the French were washing daily. We English derived societies have by comparison quite disgusting personal hygiene. The Japanese have been washing themselves both in their private areas and bodily every day for a thousand years, when Europeans were sitting around in the mud. Think upon it if you aren't squeamish. Wiping and smearing faeces between your bottom cheeks then puttying your clothes back on and moving about all day and night in this state. There's a great singular reason why Thai women are the cleanest I have ever been with and one of the major contributing factors to their delightful cleanliness is the hand held bidet. I, once introduced to the atypical French bidet many many years ago on my first sojourn to la belle France, and then later the hand held device in Asia, never ever used anything to wipe my bottom ever again ... I have been 'squeaky' clean ever since.
  9. Excuse my Euro-centric bike snobbery but why the h@ll would you spend years and untold cash importing an old, old Jap bike piece by piece, be unable to ever register and insure it here when you can buy a newer, far better bike for less that either the part and rebuild impossible option, or for the price of a bike here (even with the insane tariffs) ? Go buy yourself a newer model here, with far superior handling, suspension, braking, fuel efficiency and just as much torque. Go insane and buy a sick as can be Ducati or some other truly regal marque bike.
  10. I just had a quick sqiz into my empty tea cup n I predict this man will give away a lot of money to a semi- stranger and receive nothing but false hope, disappointment, and sorrow in return.
  11. Start by jailing this sort of offence for say, hmmm ... let me think ... 3 to 5 years and see what happens to the drunk driving rates.
  12. Poor lass. RIP. 2 young lives ended so early. The girl a victim of being born and bred in a patriarchal society that venerates subservient female identity, and non-stop obsessional love addiction and calls it 'true love'. A violent, obsessive boyfriend, an unsecured gun, all ending in the death of two people.
  13. Poor little mite. Makes my heart break again. Any good hearted falang with a happy family up that way who can help this kid?
  14. RIP poor woman. Sad to die alone. I hope they careful moving her, bloated bodies can pop like like an overblown balloon.
  15. The Greatest Nation on Earth ... ya reckon ??!!!! Wouldn't go there if ya offered me millions. Imagine what it must be like for black people in that place? Well, we don't actually have to imagine do we just look at the George Floyds, Rodney Kings, Ahmaund Aubreys to know the answer to that. Barbarians.
  16. I think god fresh som tam is soooo good, ex the stinky rotten crabs some Provinces put in. Its truly awesome with a top piece of BBQ'd charred Aussie grass fed beef, a fresh piece of grilled pla or some sweet kung.
  17. I love chilli, pet mak mak please, always have. Not me, my insides have never been better in my now living here.
  18. Its no guarantee of survival but modern lightweight life vests for all fishermen might save a few of their hard-graft lives.
  19. Sheryl will be able to give some insight into the possible phenomena that may have been at play with this fella. It may have been the reflexive response in the body after a near drowning, or a short period of the heart actually stopping and speedy revival back to unassisted breathing and the heart starting again through CPR. Our bodies, after breathing in fluid whether it be salt or fresh water, have an immune system response where our lungs produce white blood cells to fight the alien substance in our lungs. This fluid produces flu-like and at its worst pneumonia-like symptoms and the patient drowns in their own immune system response. This is also one of the features that Covid 19 produces by the way and which makes it so deadly. I have experienced this 3 times in my life as a surfer and it aint' no fun I can tell you. I was given oxygen and IV's for 2 days the 2nd and 3rd time. The first time I was on a boat in the Mentawai Islands. Thankfully a French doctor on a nearby boat helped me manage and I recovered after days of being really sick and almost needing a military helicopter to evacuate me.
  20. I did mine as a retiree - a two year duration license being my first Thai license (a few years back now for the 2 year one, so my experience may not apply) at Phuket Town MOT. I can't speak for other MOT jurisdictions and their requirements and processes. I don't know if me having 4.5 decades of a clean Aussie license with multiple types of licenses e.g motocy, heavy articulated vehicle, and car type had any impact on the ease of the process but it was super easy. (A staff member told me) countries like Oz are seen as producing well skilled and competent drivers and therefore have an easier time in getting Thai licenses than some nations that are viewed as having far lesser competent drivers. No video or paper tests for me, brake reflex test, and eye test as I wear multifocal glasses, that was all. All done in less than an hour. Usual umpteen copies of paperwork needed (local MOT office will tell you exactly what you need and give you a few forms to fill and return with the copies of this and that needed). I went very early in the morning (as others had advised I do), arriving at about 7:30 for both my 2 and then renewal for a 5 year license and both times I was about the 3rd person to grab my customer number and processed likity-split.
  21. Your tag line says; "Internal wall feature bricks." If you're wanting to cover a wall you need (if using a standard western sized brick) then about 48 to 50 - allow for 50 is what most brickies in Oz allow for). If this mob make bricks all day every day, and C. Mai don't come through, why not get this mob to make you bricks to the size and colour you want and ship for you. This way you can have some colour control, and stipulate a brick of decent thickness instead of the silly thin ones they make here - (40mm is a ridiculous thickness for a brick). This way you get more surface area of the brick and maximise the effect of their unique features. They'd look nice with a yellow sand and white cement mortar too. Faux cladding is gross in my opinion so plz don't be tempted to put up fake stuff. You can seal the bricks with a dry or wet look sealer which stops crumbling (bricks of this sort are prone to this especially if brushed against), dust.
