We all make faux pas, but having said that there are many 'tip-rats' in this world. I think as an Aussie I can speak with 6.5 decades of expertise of being horrified, since early childhood as my home nation has plenty of bogun's who behave with such appalling, rude, yes truly disgusting, ignorant, and socially inappropriate behaviours as to make one cringe. I received many things form my family, some not good at all, but I was given a good instruction in manners, social decorum, respect for others, and etiquette. I'm sure there are many quotations from far more learned people than I which refer to those who behave only fractionally about farm animals. Manners (a gift to others), humility, gentleness, and quiet speech harm no one and enrich the world. I'm glad you survived ???????? and hope you will use this educative experience to hold strong boundaries where needed with folks from the Old Dart, or anywhere else for that matter, in the future.

Another tier to this new RTP initiative (bahahaha????) would be to increase patrolling to nab speeders, nab ALL no helmets, dangerous drivers and immediately confiscate their licenses for these infringements, fine them, charge them for return of the bike to the renter, no refund from rental company, and if serious enough traffic infringement cancellation of the visa and deportation. This raft of actions would soon make its way around the globe and cow the nutjob cowboys we see all the time on the island ... truly insane behaviour at insane speeds.

The movement and exploration and experimentation in non fossil fuels is as in all of mans recorded history of R&D and usage of all inventions and discoveries just another phase and challenge on the existential continuum of our existence on this planet. We burnt whale oil for lights then gaslight then electricity, we had slow clunky steam cars, and trains burning wood and coal, then internal combustion came along with Daimler Benz. We plowed behind horse and oxen, then with steam fields were plowed. If we don't develop non-polluting systems of energy e.g fusion and the capacity to contain it in very small, mobile and safe power plants then we will continue to pollute the world in which we live and be restricted, yes restricted by the use of fossil fuels when the very real possibility of free, limitless power e.g. the awesome power that gives us stars like our Sun will never be realised. If we don't find materials other than oil, and other toxic substances such as plastics, we will literally choke the life from the natural world. The debate about global warning is irrelevant to me insofar as we are drowning in all forms of man made synthetic pollutants. To sustain ourselves we need to find alternative cleaner energies. Some thinkers say our very capitalist structure of consume more and more, the progression of the 'industrial age' with centralisation of industry with the move away from smaller dispersed habitation and manufacture, will fail, and is in fact showing us in multiple indicators how it is less than optimal and in some indicators is indeed failing us now.

Surprise surprise! What an inconvenient blip on the radar of 'A World Class Resort' ????

Yes I/we have and are. Thank you for asking. I'm dripping with white-privilege , and as such am truly blessed with a gracious, abundant, and very free life ... even here in LOS where folks like to say we aren't wanted, aren't liked, are walking-ATM targets, are barely tolerated lol ????. So life is very easy, even when its hard, its easy. Spreading the love (in both etherial and existential/practical material ways) as much as I can and receiving much joy doing so.

The story/report highlights why we never drive any great distances in LOS. The road behaviour here, even locally, is so very dangerous indeed. This is why we drive a solid, high safety rating, large SUV. No bikes here EVER now. I've posted before, saying; Sadly despite wanting to enjoy road-trips and the wonderful scenery and local contacts and food along the way we just don't take the risk of doing so here. We fly in-country to our destinations, and have on occasion gone by train for the enjoyment and relaxing slow mode it offers. We found the train to KL very enjoyable.

Note to self: If thoughts arise to ride a motocy in LOS slap face repeatedly until thoughts disappear. Repeat as necessary. lol ???? Its lovely to ride along on a bike, I totally get it. A great feeling of to ride free and in the wind. I loved the the Mae Hong Son loop ride every year or so. Riding here is great especially in the heat of LOS but its a very, very risky business my compadres.
