  1. B400, or possibly B350, seems to be the lowest price you can pickup 'real' wine for (Wolf Blass from Australia being one example). Anything less than that is almost certainly fruit wine.
  2. Great, thank you very much for letting me know. I'm planning for the future so still unsure where I'll be based but will research further if and when the time comes.
  3. Well I'm genuine, so hopefully the visa is too. I have every intension off attending the classes (Thai language).
  4. Although plenty of recourses are saying it's possible to apply for an education visa when you're already staying in Thailand on a tourist visa, I can't find anything stating this only applies to single entry tourist visas or whether it also applies to multiple entry tourist visas. Hopefully someone can clear this up for me. Many thanks.
  5. There's an old Thai saying: The husband is the fore leg of the elephant, the wife is the hind leg - สามีเป็นช้างเท้าหน้า ภรรยาเป็นช้างเท้าหลัง Make of that what you will.
  6. Really outside my areas of expertise, so I have no idea whether suitable, but I believe Nova is well respected for their work.
  7. Because there's a disproportionate number of teachers hailing from the British Isles?
  8. I was in contact with them recently but in the end did the border bounce myself as I wanted to break the journey up with a night or two somewhere (and save some money). Although I ended up not using their service the guy I was communicating with was indeed very friendly and helpful. They seem perfectly legit as a company, unlike a couple of other websites I found who never got back to me. Assuming you're Bangkok based you'd be using the Ban Laem crossing. If you have time I'd recommend going to the Cambodian market (Thai side of the border) if you're interested in stocking up on some interesting (strong) Cambodian beers. Good luck.
  9. Thanks for all the replies. From Chanthaburi I'll be traveling to the Ban Laem border crossing with Cambodia. I'm assuming there'll be regular vans or songteaw's (from the bus station) covering this route but can anyone actually confirm this for me ahead of time?
  10. Very helpful, thank you. Do you have any idea what kind of times they leave Pattaya?
  11. Hi, Does anyone know whether there's some kind of bus or van running between Pattaya and Chanthaburi? TIA
  12. Yes I know - I was referring to immigration at Central Festival.
  13. Two border run companies: https://www.chiangmaivisarun.com/ https://www.chiangmaiborderrun.com/ However, as stated above, cheaper to take the Green Bus and do it yourself (and not difficult). But bare in mind that you may need to book the bus tickets a good few days in advance. Two recent DIY border run reports:
  14. There's plenty of info on Google Maps, including photos of signs/posters indicating the various services they offer. (Sorry, I'm not able to post a link.)
  15. John actually has a twin brother (maybe identical) who owned Cosmos Bar in Patpong, Bangkok, although its sadly no more. I mentioned John to him once and he just dismissed it, so perhaps they don't get on.
  16. You may have more luck posting this in the Pattaya forum. Just a thought.
  17. Last month I enquired about this with the Thai embassy, London, although I had already provided them with a simple letter from my employer by the time they sent their reply. This was our email exchange: "Can you please also help me understand what is meant by ‘A confirmation letter from employer, School, Self-assessment, Pension statement’ when applying for a multiple entry tourist visa?'" "Just put your bank statement in there." Hope that helps
  18. I've used both Phet Prasert and Esan Tour to do the CM-KK route in the past. The former operates out of the newer bus station; the latter operates out of the older bus station (the two bus stations are opposite each other).
  19. The OP's question wasn't about onward flights, it was about whether there would be any issues when applying for a tourist visa when the return date is 85 days after arriving in the country.
  20. Which country will you be applying in?
  21. So step #5 of the supporting documents section when applying for a METV on the E-Visa website is: 'A confirmation letter from employer, School, Self-assessment, Pension statement' Can anyone enlighten me as to what any of these things are supposed to be confirming exactly? Many thanks.
  22. 1. Royal Thai Embassy, London, U.K. 2. Yes, residing in the U.K. 3. Yes, flying London-Bangkok (via Abu Dhabi). So as suggested previously, I will simply upload the biodata page of my passport, and if there are any issues with this part of the application I'll be back here to let you all know. One thing I think we can all agree on is that this whole process could certainly be smoother. But hey, that's Thai bureaucracy for you. Thanks to all.
  23. Hi I’m planning to apply for a multiple entry tourist visa and one of the required uploads is: ‘Document indicating current residency’. As no examples are given on the E-Visa website I’m hoping someone can tell me what will be accepted to meet this requirement (U.K. citizen). Many thanks for any suggestions.
