I guess, beeing refused entry in Switzerland in the first place could not have increased his love for farangs.

QuoteAccording to a result of a Super Poll survey, Gen. Prayut is the most popular politician among the Thai public in 2021.
Who were the other options? Kim Yong Un, Lukaschenko and Erdoghan?

You'd have thought the religious leaders would just have said Allah (insert your God here) says its ok not to come in a a pandemic and potentially infect your entire country on returning and kill thousands of your fellows.
More lieky they would say Haji pilgrims dying with a Covid infection are martyrs.
You can't fix religious stupid.

555. Then he should say it differently. But the generalization is bad. For a minister of state or self-appointed PM successor, there is diplomatic delicacy a quality feature. When a bar chair neighbor in a gloomy Pattaya pub says: All Chinese like poop on the street, I can live with it. But not when a minister says so.
He did not really generalize by saying "many".
"Many TGs see us westerners as walking ATMs" is no generalization, is it?
But sure, a minister should avoid such moronic statements. Outside Thailand at least. Here things are different and even convicted Heroin dealers and idiotic generals can get high positions in the so called government. ????

Just curious, what happens if you get run over by a truck and killed? Assuming no one has the key to your hard wallet, does the money just evaporate so that your family loses out?
True. Same happens if you bury your Kruger Rands in your garden and your family does not know about it.
If you can't remember your password or store it in a save place, you'd better avoid cryptos anyway ????

You mean 3 years...
No. The IDL 1968 is valid three years. You can use it in Thailand 3 months (per visit)

If you opt not to get vaccinated, (if not for medical reasons), then you've made your own bed and should accept whatever are the consequences of your decision, which might include fines, imprisonment...
Oh, so considerate? Why not demand death penalty.
Unbelievable how fast a virus can tear down the thin mask of civilization from some people.

Many farang dress dirty and don’t shower.
To be honest: Are Anutin's words really so wrong? In pre Covid times walking around in Pattaya's "bar sois" I had the impression, some of these people NEVER shower.

Checked Fusillo in Soi18 yesterday, because it's more or less in walking distance from my place. So:
Nicely made garden with a few tables, nice and clean inside, polite service. More important to me: The mussels Italian style werde perfect (ok, it's not a big deal to cook them). I ordered the pizza "extra crispy" so it came crispy enough. Not bad, maybe a bit to much cheese on it. It did not reach the vanished Little Bella Italia.
Sitting in the garden is fun right now. But I remember sitting outside in the now closed restuarant a few meters up road pre Covid. I counted 45 stinking tour busses going up and down Soi 18 during diner. Black clouds and noise, you couldn't enjoy your meal. So if things ever will be like in the (not so) good old days, the garden will be no option anymore.
I'll surely come back to Fusillo. If not for pizza, then for their delicious mussels and the pasta. Yesterday it was quite good visited.

According to the German Embassy in BKK the only one accepted is 1968. Same info I got from my DL office in Germany.

In order to drive legally in thailand on your national driving licence you must also have an international driving permit, (I believe it is the 1929 version).
As I wrote already, since May 2021 you need the one from 1968. Other won't be accepted.

Is it now possible to drive/ride in Thailand with the IDL 1968 (Vienna convention)?
Can someone please confirm? I'm finding some opposite opinion on Google.
In the past the Geneve 1949 was required.
Thanks
Yes. You can drive 3 months with the IDL from 1968, but you need your national DL aswell.

and for the nitpickers:
the internationa driving licence must be based on the 1949 convention, not the one from 1968 because Thailand is not part of it.
see DLT website: https://www.dlt.go.th/en/renew-license/
This info is not up to date.
Since May 01/2021 you need the IDL from 1968. The one from 1926 is not accepted anymore.
