it's not the banker's fault, but unwillingness to provide a small service is reason enough to change banks, if there is a better alternative.
I have no idea if it's easy to do. It might depend on how long back the debit was?

And if they refuse I would ask for a bankers draft for 800,000 since I will be banking the money elsewhere in future. Say it nicely but explain you need a more customer friendly bank.
If you're so close to the 800k that you fall short by an unexpected small fee, it's not the bankers fault.

True. I wonder how many citizens of European countries would have the funds to survive a three months period.
The big difference to Thailand there's (still) a strong social security system

The only reason I might take them again could be if they re-installed the nonstop flight from and to MUC. The middle eastern and SIA are much better in service and comfort.

Seems they come up with a "plan" every few weeks. They have more "new strategies" than customers, I guess.

I know we have many Vietnam vets who are expats in Thailand so for them and others that missed this Brian de Palma movie back in 1989, there is Casualties of War.
"Good Morning Vietnam" with Robin Williams might be something for them

177 replies and 7 pages and its all because the man did what millions others are doing, walking among us un-vaccinated, with millions others refusing to be vaxxed, traveling to countries marked to be red over run with hundreds of thousands of infected people both aware of if or not and coming back to infect others, and Oh, he got picked on and mocked because he's a Jew/Israeli, who said that antisemitism is dead?...
What utter nonsense!
. This has nothing to do with antisemitism.
There would be the same comments, if the man was British, German, American or whatever.
More concerning than your "antisemitism"-BS is the tar and feather mentality some hysterical idiots show.

I saw one today, so it seems it's the same as with a new car.

In the USA only! 25% of all Covid deaths were under 65. That is 200,000 people!
Not US only. In Germany 85% are 70+ of age.
And not all of them are "Covid-deaths". They now are counted correctly as "died on or with covid".
More than 85 % of the ONE percent -50 deaths had side effects, previous illness and or adipositas.
The fairytale that Covid is a severe danger for those not belonging to the vulnerable elderly people is long refuted. To repeat it permanently does not make it more true.

What you do is check the date when they stamp your passport.
That has to be a standard procedure. It happens too often that a moronic IO stamps in a false date.
Extremely annoying if you don't realize and get problems on exit.

I cant understand why people think bigger is better - there is a saying about eggs and baskets. All your data on one storage device (even if it's partitioned, it's one device). If it fails you lose ALL your data - so unless you have a reliable form of backup for it I personally think more but smaller SSD or HDD are better options. Failure of one device maybe annoying but probably not catastrophic. Also backing up 8Tb of data could take some time unless you go for real time back up of files
Right but even in bigger servers the space for HDs is limited, so sometimes you have no other choice than to take the largest size available.
The more important is to buy good ones. That's why I recommend WD Red Plus (at least for 24/7 PCs)

Where would that be? And what do they sell there? Their 02.%-THC of which you need a few kilos to get stoned?

Can you recommend one that's a good buy at the moment, perhaps on Lazada or Shopee, or at any stores throughout Thailand? A decent quality 3.5'' hdd connected via USB around 4,5,6,7,8 TBs, that will serve me well as a 2nd backup device for my MP3 collection?
I never bought at these shops and I do not use external 3.5'' HDs anymore.
If it's for backup and not permanently connected, I would buy a docking like the Sharkoon Sata QuickPort
https://en.sharkoon.com/product/1686/17652
Easy and fast swap. So you have the option to use one or more HDs of size and brand you like. As HDs I strongly recommend WD Red Plus (in- or extern).
We use them on our 24/7-servers and with the Sharkoon station for backups. Never haid a fail.
USB-HDs out of the box with their plastic covers will do too, but you don't know what HD is inside and if the box dosn't work anymore (which is more likely than a HD-defect) you can't simply take the HD out.

Thailand suspends ‘Thailand Pass’ and ‘Test & Go’

FFP2/N95 with valve are more comfortable for you. Breathing is much easier and for you it's not much less safe than usual FFP2.
But you wouldn't be allowed to wear those in a Covid enviromental. The protection for others is limited.
In Thailand: Wear them. They're far better than any medical mask or the selfmade jokes you see here often.
