Welcome! Do you still have the link to the source showing the statement in paragraph 4 saying:

    4. There are also certain types of visa that fall outside of the RD tax code. The LTR visa for example received its tax exempt status by royal decree hence visa holders will not to be assessed for Thai tax and they are specifically excluded from this explanation.

If not, can I ask you how you came to know that?

    Thanks

What about Thai elite visa ?

There is a form you get from the bank. Just tell them tax form. They'll know. This, your passport and tax number.

It seems to go smoothly in locations with many foreign retirees. Everytime I have done it (province with almost no foreign retirees) there was a prolonged interrogation (multiple ttipsthere) demanding to know where my income comes from. Had to show years of credit advices showing transfers from abroad and even that was not enough until eventually referred up the chain to an officisl who understood that there Rd retired foreigners living in Thailand. Following year, same. May skip it next year as just not worth the hassle, time and aggravation.

Thank you , how I can say this tax form in Thai ? Sometimes they don’t understand what I want and difficult to explain in English. And can I get this tax form now for 2022 or I should wait until 2023 January ?

  3. Hello , I have deposit account and I want to get back withholding taxes back by filling tax return in January for 2022. I’m expat living in Los without any other income. I have tax id already. After filling tax return , what I need to provide to revenue department to get back withholding tax ?
a bank statement that showing withholding taxes would be enough or I should get another certificate or document from bank regarding withholding taxes ? What I should say bank for that ?

  4. Hey guys , I got my deposit back. I already posted above how.

Update. I got my deposit back very quickly today. I just went condo management and explain the situation with help of my Thai girlfriend. I asked phone number of landlord.because I rented home with agent and I don’t have contact of real landlord. Management said they cannot give her number but they will pass my number to landlord to contact with me. After 1 hour landlord called me. My thai girlfriend talked with her. She had no idea about short time rental and deposit. She contacted with agent and after 30 minutes agent transferred  my deposit back to my account. Problem has been fixed.

Good for you, but overall a very poor suggestion with the criminal and civil laws here regarding defamation.

I am also afraid of these laws. First I wanted to go his agency and talk with them about him and my deposit.  but my girlfriend said he can sue me because he will lose his face against his colleagues in his business place. . and this is not something impossible in Thailand.
I just have screenshots of our conversations in line and bank transfer receipt. The amount is not big , first option I will forget this money. But that means he won’t give back my 5000 deposit also from my rental condo , too.

I don’t know what I can do as second option. The amount is very small and doesn’t worth to talk with lawyers. I texted agent many times and he even don’t answer. My thai girlfriend called him and he said , we have to wait and he cannot say when he will refund deposit.

Did you have a contract where the agreement is stated included the deposit?

I have a rental contract for my rental home but we didn’t do a written contract for 6 days rent. But I have LINE conversations with him and I got screenshots. He says he has 3000 deposit and he will give back 2000 back in our line conversation.
If I go tourist police they can help ?

    @spidermike

I know arrested people about negative reviews in Thailand according to defamation laws. I also thought to do first but then I scared about it.

Defamation is a criminal offence in Thailand, carrying a maximum sentence of two years in prison, along with a 200,000 baht (£4,915) fine. Rights groups have long warned that the law is draconian, and that it has been abused to silence activists and journalists. Unlike in many other countries, truth cannot automatically be relied upon as a defence.”
