At my age, I am all spending now and the damn Covid has put a break. In the past it was all in stocks and real estate that made me a millionaire like any other 20 million Americans. If you're in stocks and real estate, don't worry if market is crashing or not. And I don't know anybody who has become wealthy from bank interests.

Bitcoin or Gold?
CartagenaWarlock replied to Neeranam's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I have recovered almost all my investment in cryptos and I am still a crypto HODL. I bought one BTC for 7K and sold 0.5 when it reached 15K to recover my investment. I bought 7 ASIC miners for around 10K and sold mined LTCs to recover my investment and still holding 35 LTC and they continue to mine everyday. Then I bought $100 worth of SHIB (more than a million SHIB and still holding. So that's all my crypto HODL. Now waiting for it either to go to zero or millions. I really don't care. The problem with crypto is I have yet to figure out the underlying value of crypto except what the next person is going to pay for it just like a piece of art. I understand the underlying value of stocks and real estate which have made me a millionaire like one of those 20 million Americans. -
Never had this problem in 7/11. I always do this to get rid of my coins and get 20/50/100 bills. They use the machine to return the correct amount and of course before they can enter the amount in their machine I tell them how much I expect. I had more problems doing the same in the USA where the attendant gets confused even after entering the amount in their machine because they were expecting to give some change and it comes out whole amount.

They are not expecting tourists. They are expecting bride seekers and orgy seekers who have sent a longtime solo gratification. -
Property Taxes Will Be Billed in Feb., Must Be Paid by April
CartagenaWarlock replied to Banana7's topic in Pattaya
USA does not have councils. County charges property taxes. They can't arbitrarily increase it. States have laws capping property taxes. Yes they can increase but not substantially. I think in the USA we already pay lots of property taxes. -
Somebody in their 40s can apply and get the visa and then apply for retirement after 50. Great for nomads and remote workers. I bet lots of people will apply for that, including from CHina and INdia where the average salary of a software developers is reaching $2,000 per month and some of the big multinationals are offering up to 5-7K USD for remote workers in India. I think it's a good option for 10K baht fees a year.

Thailand should stop publicizing Covid numbers by April

If they don't go to the hospital, how can they claim their insurance? Three people I know went to the hospital as soon as they tested positive in ATK tests after the new years party though their symptoms were mild. So far, I know four people who have claimed their insurance money and none of them were serious or went to ICU or their blood oxygen level dropped below 90. Only one person's lung was infected and that cleared up after a week of Favipiravir. I may be wrong but I have a hunch that 80% people in Thailand going to Hospital for insurance claim. -
In the USA sale prices are public knowledge. You can get it from county records and now mostly online. Zillow publishes most sales prices. Real estate is almost like cash in the USA, You can walk into a bank and get a loan on your house/condo any time you want. After age 62, you can get a reverse mortgage and don't have to make any loan payment. And now, some companies (like Point) will give you cash for the future value of your home. I know some of my friends who bought houses for 300K twenty years ago in CA and now cashing in millions and still living on the same house.
