CartagenaWarlock replied to MichaelJohn's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Why it will be a screen shots? Why can't it be a pdf file? -
Pattaya Sandbox?
CartagenaWarlock replied to wpcoe's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
There is nightly checks ( I would assume). And why somebody wants to spend for one week hotel just to enter Thailand. It smells like a scam to me. -
Why I need such a card? How can they prove my CDC vaccination card (vaccinated in the USA) is not fake? Is it another fad like pink card? Is acquiring the card an accomplishment in the Thailand?

Decades of data and still they cannot do market segment analysis. From my two years of observations, let me spell out. 1. Back packrs, 2. Family holidays, 3. Bride seekers, 4. Orgy seekers. Back pckeers want cheap holiday destinations, family holidays are mostly frugal. The only people who are going to spend money running drunk from bars to bars are bride seekers and orgy seekers. You can restore to its prior glories only when you open up places where people go for seeking brides or finding orgies.

Condo ownership by foreigners revealed: China tops, UK in third
CartagenaWarlock replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I'm not sure why Americans are not in the top five but as an American, I feel houses and condos are like almost liquid assets in the USA. If you have a house or a condo, you can get 80% of its value as credit line, you can reverse mortgage it at the age of 62, and now you can sell future equity of your house. Bottom line, with house or condo in US, you have access to cash almost immediately. -
Most countries have realized that and lock down nazis are keeping their mouths shut. Vaccination and some control measures like mask mandates are the only solutions and each country has to figure out the threshold of death and infection their health care system can handle and keep those infrastructures uptodate for foreseeable future. No matter what vaccines you give, it is not the only solution. Just look at UK, Israel, and Singapore. Even small isolated countries are not able to control infections.

Buy used car with finance from bank/shop
CartagenaWarlock replied to Faeton's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
With the availability of multiple ride sharing apps (e.g grabs and bolts), I felt less and less need for a car unless you have a family. A motor bike can serve for quick run around in the back alleys to 7/11, laundromat if needed, or nere by places. -
Double Vaxxed And Caught Covid: Anyone Else?
CartagenaWarlock replied to BKKBike09's topic in Health and Medicine
Is it 0.2% of all covid deaths? In the USA, some states like Maine have as high as 5% of all covid deaths are attributed to breakthrough cases. A state by state breakdown of hospitalizations and death among of breakthrough cases. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/08/10/us/covid-breakthrough-infections-vaccines.html -
If it's only tax money, they can tax the e-cigarettes and It will increase revenues. I think there is an oppositions from the cigarettes manufacturers and they have not yet figured out how to make money from e-cigarettes. Just like in Las Vegas there is a opposition from casino industry to open sit-in marijuana smoking places because they have not figured out how to make money from those places yet.

Vaccination on a tourist visa?
CartagenaWarlock replied to placeholder's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
So, she will be coming to Thailand unvaccinated and needs to qurantione. Which country she is from? Why she wants to get vaccinated in Thailand? Why she can't get vaccinated in her home country? I have not heard of anybody coming to Thailand for getting vaccinated. It is possible in private hospitals but I would recommend coming next year. -
Tourism push targets ‘visa on arrival’ tourists
CartagenaWarlock replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Tourists don't come to Thailand (except backpackers). Only bride seekers and orgy seekers come to Thailand. Unless all the places where brides and orgies available are open, not one "tourist" will visit Thailand. -
Why herd immunity could be an impossible goal for Thailand
CartagenaWarlock replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Herd immunity is impossible as evidenced with high vaccinated countries like UK, and Israel where 7-day average infection rate per million population is running at more 3,000 and death at more than 10. The only solution is to live with covid and set a baseline that the nation's health care infrastructure can handle. If anybody thinks a nation can achieve herd immunity, they are either living in a delusional reality or falling for Western media's propaganda. Western media after months of touting the achievement of their vaccine for herd immunity has started to realize the impossibility. UK is doing even worse than US where vaccination rate in the population is very low compared to wealthy nations and there is a strong anti-vax groups who are ready to lose their jobs rather than get jabbed. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/05/03/health/covid-herd-immunity-vaccine.html -
100 new cases per day is not terrible. People must realize that we have to live with Covid-19. No amount of vaccination, boosters, etc. can eliminate covid-19 completely. Just checked the the UK average cases for the last 7-days, they are registering 3,500 cases per million population per day with 100+ death a day (10+ death/million population). No respite from Covid-19. Anybody expecting covid-19 to disappear in the near future is living in a delusional reality or have drank too much western media propaganda coolaid. Here is the latest news. Pfizer is getting the population ready for booster shot every 6-months. What a scam!!! https://www.nytimes.com/2021/10/04/science/pfizer-vaccine-hospitalization-study.html

Covid-19 is not going to go away as proved in soaring infections in UK and Israel and countries where vaccination is rate is very high. Vaccinated people can still get infected and spread to other vaccinated/unvaccinated people. The goal of each country is to to establish the infection rate and hospitalization that the country's health care infrastructure is capable of handling and work to achieve that goal. I'm convinced that Covid-19 will be there in near future in one variant or another. Hopefully scientists will come up with drugs very soon to reduce severity of infection and eliminate deaths caused by Covid-19. Most countries have started to realize that as we hear less from lock down nazis. https://www.cnbc.com/2021/08/12/herd-immunity-is-mythical-with-the-covid-delta-variant-experts-say.html

Buying english keyboard without thai symbols
CartagenaWarlock replied to AndyAndyAndy's topic in IT and Computers
True. I use two fingers and don't look at the screen when typing. I look at the keyboard. The point being, if you are typing looking at the screen, it should not be problem what is on the keyboard (Thai and English characters). I am looking at the keyboard and I still don't have problem when there are two characters per key on the keyboard.
