  1. Doesn't Thai EMS require you to declare the content? Can I declare marijuana? Is it legal to mail weed?
  2. I am staying on the eastern side of Samui Island (near Chaweng) for two days. I'll go to Phangan on Sunday afternoon. In Phangan, I am staying in Thong Sala. I have to go to Haad Rin from Thong Sala for the FMP. How do I go there? Grab?
  3. At age 62, with three million USD in assets (including real estate in the USA, which is a kind of 80% liquid asset), I don't think of investing any more. In seven years, I will get $4,500 in SS. My investments are in technology, AI, and financial ETFs, target-year funds, VOO, SPY, CDs, and US government bonds. I sleep tight, and if the world comes to an end, I want to die, not survive; hence, I have kept a handgun but am not sure if I would have the courage to pull the trigger or not. Only time will tell.
  4. I am going to Samui in February during the Full Moon Party. Are there any nice cannabis cafes in Samui? Are there any Thai nightclubs like Mahanakhon in Pattaya Tai? Is Bolt service readily available, like in Pattaya? I'm also going to Koh Phangan for the full moon party. Any tips?
  5. I'm planning to go to Koh Samui by flight in February and intend to take ten joints in a cigarette pack. I have a hunch that it must be illegal in flight under some regulations, but how severely are they enforced, and what is the maximum fine I could expect for that? I know I can buy them in Koh Samui, but I need to have some supplies with me for the strains I like before I explore Samui and find some to my liking. By the way, are there any nice ganja cafes in Samui?
  6. Money can also buy. You can enter the fast track lane by purchasing a business class ticket; however, I believe the OP asked if IOs would harass him for staying too long in Thailand. To answer that question, if one has a Thai wife (or family) and a proper visa, he will not be harassed.
  7. Why? Can one buy gold cheaper in Nepal? I know gold smuggling from Dubai to India is a big one because gold is cheaper in Dubai than in India.
  8. Sell the car in your home country and buy it here, used or new, depending on your choice and finances.
  9. There is no traffic police anywhere inside the town. Red-light jumping is fairly common by cars and MCs at the pedestrian crossing near Rompho Market, blocking corner turns by parked cars, etc. Of course, both foreigners and the locals are responsible.
  10. You're right. I advised all my nephews and nieces to open a ROTH and an HSA and contribute to the yearly limit if possible.
  11. I'm insured in the US, and it pays only 50% in Thailand because it is out of their PPO network. I also have an HSA card with years of contributions and have accumulated an impressive return on investment in the HSA. If you're a US citizen, you will know what an HSA is and its tax-free benefits.
  12. I go to BPH and never pay anything in advance except before leaving. I stayed overnight twice, and on both occasions, they told me how much the charge would be in advance. Maybe all these talks of hospitals asking for money before admitting are a fantasy. In Bangkok, I used to go to Bumrungrad, and the story is the same.
  13. He knows that people who had to flee their homeland to take refuge in Thailand for a comfortable life must bow to every demand of the IO and genuflect before them. This is a way to remind them of their place in Thai society because their own society is not able to provide them a comfortable living.
  14. I'm not sure why TM30 is a requirement for entry into Thailand. It's required in many offices for any type of service at immigration offices.
  15. I don't agree. I may have reminded a few members of their place in society that allowed them to live a life of comfort after fleeing 10,000 miles from their home lands and then posting derogatory comments about Thailand, Chinese, or Indians in this forum.
  16. When ever I see "contempt," derogatory remarks towards Thais, Chinese, and Indians (favorites of this forum), I will remind the members their position in the society they live in after fleeing 10,000 miles from their home country for a better life and possibly a woman also.
  17. BS. It's not a SEC requirement, but they do publish (or give press reports from time to time) about their losses due to theft. Target said in May that theft was cutting into its bottom line, and it expected related losses could be $500 million US more than last year, when losses from theft were estimated to be anywhere from $700 million to $800 million. So that means losses could top $1.2 billion this fiscal year. https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/target-stores-theft-1.6979493#:~:text=Target said in May that,%241.2 billion this fiscal year.
  18. Sure, why not? People who cannot survive in their own lands and have to travel 10,000 miles for a better life, possibly a woman or a family, to live like refugees in foreign land need to pay up.
  19. But I find ass wiping farangs are moving in droves to find their future brides in all those brothels fronting as bars and then eventually move to Issan and build their mansions surrounded by dilapidated wood dwellings. May be they find cold water in their asses amusing after wiping their asses with paper for years.
  20. There is no severance pay in the US unless it specifically mentioned in your contract or you've got a union job. Severance pay is common in the US for layoffs because most companies make it their HR hiring policy to attract people. Theere is no other labor protection in the US. Of course, there are other type of protections, like firing involving any form of discrimination, sexual harassment, etc.
  21. The same way IOs treat foreigners who have traveled 10,000 miles to find a life in a foreign land living like a refugee (year-to-year contract), possibly using 'wify' visas.
  22. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Does it mean every time a company (e.g., Target in the US) reports their yearly loss due to theft, they should also mention their yearly profits? Or, the insurance industry mentions their yearly loss due to false claims; they should also report their yearly profits and revenue.
  23. I don't worry about paying taxes because I don't stay more than 6 months in Thailand, but now I have to count days to make sure I don't exceed a day.
  24. This may be true. On the two occasions I spent overnight in a hospital, I could have easily walked out without paying. I even ask the billing clerk what happens if I walk out. She laughed and ignored my questions.
