If you took at 62 and the FRA was at 67, you permanently lost 30% every year. No investment can bring you that kind of return unless you consider gambling an investment.

I have not known any time in history when somebody who invests in the S&P index (15%) and CDs (5%) has lost everything. If living in a fantasy world and earning a meagre 1-2% comforts you, so be it.

At 5%, you do the calculation. S&P is running at 15%. And you don't pay 30K. It is only 12.5K in Pattaya. And the satisfaction you get from spreading your wealth to unfortunates who, no fault of their own, are not able to access dollars. And that is priceless.

If you have 800K in the bank, earning a meagre amount, so be it. You don't have to do anything. But some people earn more by investing and then use an agent to spread a portion of their earnings among unfortunates who do not have access to dollars.

If it's only a matter of visa renewal, an agent will happily fix it. Agents don't need any documents now except your passport. They don't care about your entry visa, like O, OA, or other letters.

I can see and I can apply and get a physical credit card, but I did not bother to get one as few of my ATM cards are no fee worldwide ATM withdrawal with fraud protection and zero liability. I registered in the US.

I am not sure how that will play out in case of a US citizen filing 1040+ schedules. Maybe one pays taxes in year x in Thailand and claims that as tax credit the following year in US tax returns?

If the money is already taxed, I assume it will not be taxed again, or you pay Thai taxes and then deduct those taxes from your home country's obligations, as in the case of the US.

How do you keep Thai Bhat balance? I did not see that option in my account. I saw Indonesian Rupiah and Indian Rupee but no option for Thai Baht.

He does not have to be arrested and charged where the crime happened. Any US prosecutor with sufficient evidence can bring the charges in the US. But the bigger question is how to motivate a prosecutor to bring charges, unless it's a huge racket and some US NGOs are involved in gathering evidence.
