Any extension you want to do inside Thailand with immigration, they will accept only money in a Thai bank. Anything you do outside Thailand in an embassy, they will accept US bank or home country bank accounts.

The OP is saying he has an O visa (not an O-A visa). Please post your comments, keeping in mind that the original visa is a non-O. Now I don't understand why they will ask for health insurance to extend it. Non-O extension should not ask for health insurance.

I am all for foreigners treatment in Thailand. Thai officials know exactly how to keep foreigners on leash. One-year permission to stay even with a 'wify' visa. They know there is no shortage of desperate people who can't live a decent life in their home land; hence, they have to flee their home country to find a decent living in a foreign land, often using a 'wify' visa. They don't have their voice heard anywhere except in a Farang forum where they can post all their hate for Thailand, Thais, Indians, Chinese, and now Russians. And when they steal, there will be parading. They must be reminded that they are in a foreign land because they can't have a decent living in their home land.

Thailand has deep Chinese and Indian connections. Thai is tonal like Chinese, and they use scripts that have roots in Indian Brahmi scripts. Thai gods and religions are mostly Hindu gods and Buddhist religions. The Thai king has Indian Brahmins perform religious ceremonies. Thai literature is full of Sanskrit and Pali words.

I recently wanted a residency certificate for a car or MC license and was informed my TM30 is not up-to-date. I told the agent, BS. How much do you register for TM30 again? I was informed 500 baht. I paid 500 baht and got another TM30. Everything is so easy in Thailand if willing to spend some money.
