That is not East of Pattaya, closer to due South, and you say I do not know Geography. Laem Mai Phim, which I have been to, would be the one with the refinery in view? Ban Chuen Trat, there isn't a coastal road! Trat is not really Eastern seaboard (EEC) which is what was mentioned, that is Chachoengsao, Chonburi and Rayong. The Beach in Pattaya looks quite good these days providing you do look not just after a rainstorm.
My bad. I didnt read it properly. No refinery at Laem Mai Phim. , Mae Rum Phueng is better than Pattaya also. Its hard to compare beach/sand as Pattaya beach is fake/imported but water standards... No contest!

You know nothing of where I have been.... name these better beaches that are on the Eastern seaboard of Thailand. ... If one heads East from Pattaya the next seaside beach you encounter would be Nha Trang on the South China sea!
Some people....
Obviously you haven't or you don't know geography by your statement.
Laem Mai phim Rayong or Ban Chuen Trat come to mind. Passed many on the drive along the Eastern seaboard.
Both Pattaya beaches are <deleted> holes and the water is disgusting.

Come on, it is not such a bold statement.... it is only limited to the Eastern Seaboard, it is like saying Blackpool has the best beach on the Fylde coast. Excluding the Islands the other Cities on the Eastern seaboard are not known for their beaches, Chonburuy City, Laem Chabang and a few others have built scenic refineries.
Well I guess you haven't been much further east than Pattaya then as there plenty of beaches better than them and they didn't cost billions of baht to make and keep making every time it rains.

Mr Yuthasak said that even Elon Musk would want to visit Thailand if cryptocurrencies were more widely accepted.
Yes because he wouldn't be able to afford it otherwise ????????

Its actually shocking that somebody could have the balls to make this statement. Is there anyone in the whole population of Thailand that actually believes this

Started reading about coins lately and read about XRP and their court case.
Price is very low now and if they succeed people are saying it could make some serious money.
Obviously bitcoin and Eurethem are the big boys but is it possible for another to come through with big numbers or is this a coke and Pepsi thing?

Tourism provinces’ not included in first roll out of COVID-19 vaccine in Thailand
Rayong, Chonburi (Pattaya province), Trat (Koh Chang) and Chantaburi were included. But in these provinces only medical personnel and those treating and in close contact with Covid people would be vaccinated.
All three are Tourism provinces.

Just saw an article where 4 people who had received both doses of the Moderna Vaccine in the US have now tested positive for Covid. Genome sequencing is now starting to see <deleted> is going on. I know this is off topic but thought it was related to the facts that no vaccinations have started here and the AstraZenica Vaccine has been put in a hold pattern in South Africa. Testing and herd immunity. How can you say both in the same sentence without testing the population. If they are hoping to attain that in Samut Sakhon and then open up borders it still makes no sense at all. My Daughter is a Surgical ICU PA working in Lane county Hospitals in the Covid Units, and she herself has had both Moderna vaccinations. Very concerning since they have also cut back on the PPE equipment due to cost.
I was under the impression that the vaccine doesnt stop you getting it or passing it. Just stops serious symptoms.

Yes, been reading up about the UK variant as found the timing interesting, here are a few facts that might cause one to think a little bit.
Health officials, politicians and the media around the world turned their focus on the variant right after the publication of three theoretical-modeling papers on B.1.1.7, the one originating in the U.K. None of the three papers was checked over for accuracy by objective observers – a process called ‘peer review', nonetheless, all three were portrayed as solid science. So yet again no checking allowed.
So who was behind this new modelling? Why our old friend Neil Ferguson, the UK government has relied on his mathematical modeling for many years, despite his work turning out to be highly inaccurate time after time. In fact this insider has rarely gotten anything right. He also supposedly stepped down from his government-advisory role last May after being caught secretly meeting with his gik during lock downs, but was then quietly restored to positions of influence. Funny how some get a free pass while the public gets arrested.
In the one paper published the authors state in the last section of their paper that “It is important to remember that our maps define biochemical phenotypes of the RBD, not how these phenotypes relate to viral fitness. There are many complexities in the relationship between biochemical phenotypes of yeast-displayed RBD and viral fitness.”
Translation: Just because our experiments showed that the presence of N501Y or other changes in the RBD seems to make the RBD bind tighter to the ACE2 receptor, we don’t know whether any of these changes make the virus more transmissible.
So is it more dangerous? Maybe, but no one actually knows. It is all 100% conjecture.
Very unlikely. A virus wants to grow and infect as many people as possible not kill people. This nonsense about mutant virus strains is all scaremongering. Its the natural evolution of a virus to be more contagious! Everyday you see headlines saying that the new virus may not be affective against a new strain and then a few days later its confirmed it does. Thais are not suffering like other countries for whatever reasons and lets just be happy with that!

Hospital ICU's are at capacity in Mahachai. A person died in a hospital outside of Mahachai because there was no room in the muaeng hospitals.
Talking about Thailand in general not the epicenter. One person died. See how many are dying everyday in other countries?

My guess is that people are being cautious. I think as the week progresses people will start returning if there are no new outbreaks and numbers remain low.
Just in time for CNW.

So Samut Sakhorn isn't closed down and there was reports of the super spreader at the DJ birthday party and the girls who jumped the borders.
Maybe they are not testing enough to find active cases but it's not like hospitals are full and people are in massive lockdowns like the UK. Still baffled why Thailand manages to evade the severity that other countries are experiencing.

With over 80 percent of Thais being asymptomatic so far I guess they are in no rush.
Can stick with social distancing and mask wearing for the time being.

The police chief said he has asked Krungthai Bank and the Government Savings Bank to suspend debt payments
Of course! Normal people's possessions will be repossessed if they don't pay but the Police should be exempt?

Phuket perfect testbed for reopening tourism: Bill Heinecke
in Phuket News

Exactly. Sri Lanka is doing it. Tourists are free to hang out at the hotels and go on tours. The stipulation is they don't mingle with locals for the first 14 days.
Easily accomplished with some good planning.
