Definitely more Russians around lately. Prefer them to Chinese.
I find they spend their money evenly. They go to bars, restaurants, mom and pop shops and local markets. Chinese go to buffets and 7 11.

Millions of baht justified and spent installing a system which is then left to rot.
City hall should be sending someone home without a salary for this appalling dereliction of maintenance.
Standard here. Rules made, nobody enforces them. Things built or installed and dont work or not maintained.

Anybody have an idea what it would cost to build a 2m wall around 1 rai 100 talang wa? Half of the wall needs a quality foundation as its near water and i plan to use standard concrete blocks.
All in price if possible.

Next time your out in your local town or city look at the lamposts. Bet 70% of them have had the cover ripped off and all that is stopping people from being electrocuted is some black tape.

I use ivewhd and have used pulse before. Both have a catch up service.

Will be interesting to see how it pans out for off shore workers! If they are targeted then this campaign is obviously racist.
Why would a country not want someone to come and spend money in their country?
Isnt this what Thailand wants? Somebody to come in dump alot of money and leave. They are obviously not working here. Just spending money.

Thanks for all the replies.
The wife is Thai and we live in London but do have a house in Ranong, near Chumphon.
It looks like Koh Samet will be the best bet for a few days.
Any recommendations for a beach resort/hotel?
Which is the best beach to stay at?
Many thanks
Sean
Depends what you want. Secluded or do you need to be nightlife? Bit of both?
Taxis are expensive so if you want to move around motorbike rental is your best bet.
Ao Phrao is nice but expensive and it's a steep walk out of there and back in if your not taking taxis.
Tubtim or Samed Villa puts you in a decent location but not isolated.
Forget Saikaew beach.

Hi
i hope you will not be disapointed visiting Pattaya with your wife
unless you have a specific attraction for something special like the golf
there is not a lot to do or see here for a couple of westerners.
For your specific question Koh Larn at 20 minutes of boat of Pattaya is
good you can start from the city in the morning and back at the end of the afternoon.
Koh Samet is less easy and more expensive option and you need to go for 2 or 3 days minimum.
Also at this season somes days are raining. From some minutes to all day long, you never really know when the rain starts and end, so personaly i should prefer a short trip to Koh larn. more convenient to cancel or do shorter if the weather is not good, If you go to Koh Samet and if you have rain you can easily dying in boredom because exept the beach there is nothing to do on the island.
ko Samet is the driest island in Thailand. In six years ive never seen it rain all day.

I had the same problem with audio and video being out of sync many times with TV Mucho. Don't know what causes it. Must be a problem at their end. If you don't like Mobdro, try Live NetTv and Live Lounge. Since IPTV went down I've also been looking around.
I re-subscribed to HD Prime on Tuesday evening so I could watch the Spurs footy 5 hours later that night - they used to reply inside 10-15 minutes but 2 days later I'm still waiting for them to reactivate my account or even reply to me. <deleted> disgraceful.
2-3 tried and trusted website streams also work (Stream2watch, Firstrow etc) but if anyone can tell me where to get the best streams right now, I'm all ears.I will not, however, deal with True. I think it's criminal that for those of us previously paying 150 baht a month to Bein aren't having our contracts honoured by True - what's worse they're demanding more than double that if we want to continue using it. That wouldn't be allowed in any other country!
There are many IPTV offerings out there. I can only comment on the ones ive tried. I used Pulsetv for a year. All UK channels as well as other sports channels from US and elsewhere. 3 Devices on 1 internet connection an i prepaid 10,000 baht for the year(it has 24 hr catch up. Also has VOD on movies and series.
Now using IVIEWHD as i only need 1 device. 7 day catch up. A bit cheaper also with VOD. Both excellent services and barely buffers on a 40mb download.

That's all that's needed in Thailand.Cannabis shops have started springing up and people are ordering online already it's going to be like trying to put Jack back in the box! Some seem to be trying to restrict Anutin's vision but the people have spoken and if the current admin become to obstructionist money will come to the rescue and as we know if there is a dollar in it there is also a Thai in it.
In fact some oil has just this very second been delivered to my door that I ordered yesterday so I might catch ya later!
"It's medication time" Nurse Ratchet.
A pm of details would be appreciated

why are you really spending so much time here?
If he just spent 2 months at home he obviously isn't working in Thailand.
Should of been let in as he has the met the requirements.

PulseTV is fine but obviously more expensive and with only 24-hour catchup. Minimal buffering and good online customer support. Good selection of videos too. I've had for 1.5 years and have few complaints.
Sent from my SM-G930F using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
Pulse is great if you want it on multiple devices (they allow 3).
Changed to IViewhd last month. Same quality but only 1 device allowed but it's cheaper and has a 7 day catch up opposed to 24hrs on Pulse.

Both Samet and Koh Chang recently got hit very hard with thunderstorms. I would prefer to be somewhere a little more developed this time of year.
Ko Chang has but not Ko Samet.

Seriously. People are losing their minds about changing Provence for a couple of days.
If you have a Thai gf/wife book the hotel in her name. They will only ask for her I'd if it's not a big hotel chain.
If I don't I wouldn't worry. Can't get a answer to a email here so the chances of someone cross referencing a tm30 to a hotel check in is very unlikely.

Beware of Koh Samat! Huge "Hen" mosquitos plague the island from sunset to first light & then the sand fleas bite your feet to pieces...rip off locals-island from hell from personal experience.
Not true! Mossies come out sunset and sunrise. None in the day unless your in the jungle and very few after sunset. Only sand flies on the north part of the island.
How were you ripped off? Let us know so other people can avoid your mistakes!

Would be better off removing the no alcohol sale between 2-5pm rule and making wine more affordable.
People come on holiday to relax, eat and drink.
Being told when you cant have a drink when you are on holiday is annoying and then when you can being charged extortionate prices on anything else other than the local <deleted> water is ridiculous.
