It depends upon what the immigration office where you apply will accept.
You also need all the required supporting documents before you go the office.
of course i have all the required supporting documents already - except the family-house-photos and the map!
will go friday to maesai and ask them! thanks @ubonjoe -
thanks alot @ubonjoe - very helpful - the photos is the only thing we must do before the meeting at the local immigration-office! (just in case for the marriage-visa!)
and i read i think in a posting, that the map should be handwritten and google-maps-copy is not accepted - right or not?
just read in your pdf (Map to your residence from the nearest main road or street.) or can i print the google-map-photo(or file)? -

Isn’t it nice to see that helping out is being appreciated?????????
it is indeed very very appreciated "damascase" and "OneeyedJohn"!
i did not know, that i have to thanks every time to the posters for the help ????
i read this forum almost every day - have the newsletter 2times a day etc. etc. and so i just read that i can eventually wait till end of month to visit the local immigration office in maesai or chiangrai!but i have a question to "@ubonjoe" or other members - what paperwork in detail i will have to show at the immigration office for
a) extension 60 days (visit my wife! - i live with her already more then 32 years!!! ☺️
b) ev. application for retirement-visa
c) ev. application for marriage-visa
i am married with thai-wife loooong time already!
i have funds in my thai-bank-account more then 3 months - good (enough) for marriage-visa or together with my pension good for retirement-visa! - or the monthly-pension-amount is also ok already for marriage-visa! ????
my multiple-entry-non-immi-0-visa issued in savannakhet expired the 5th june 2020! so i am actually in the amnesty-law!
and ideas more for me? thanks alot! and thanks in advance already for any helpful informations!
farang-baba-bobo-nidnoi in chiangrai-province (????)
PS - my wish anyway is - that we can travel soon again around here in SEA - specially to our favorite country laos - and doing again the multiple-non-immi-visa in savannakhet and enjoy the laos beer and some delicious laos-food on the banks of the mekhong-river with the fantastic sunset!
-
will not wait till end of month (holidays/weekend etc.) - my "savannakhet-multipleentry-immigrant-0-visa" expired the 5th of june - now under amnesty - i will/must go to immigration chiangrai to apply for retirement-visa!
my questions:1. what days can i apply for this visa?
2. what paperwork i must have ready for this visa?
i thinks (maybe i know) -
a) passport and copies from what pages?
b) proof of money (pension plus bank-account-statement - with a total of 800k for retirement-visa)
c) tablien baan from my wife
d) photos (how many?)
anything more?
3. do i have to make online an appointement for the visit at the immigration office in chiangrai?
the fee is 1900 baht? correct? and for a multiple exit-re/entry-visa 3800 baht? correct?
thanks for any helpful advise!
because i think, that laos/savannakhet will not open in the next future?! and if the border will open, what are the requirements from thai-gov when i return to thailand?
so - it make no sense to apply for extension 60 days - cost also 1900 baht!
i am married to thai-woman!
i have monthly pension and enough money in the bank for 800k
have a nice evening!

have been several times already more then 20 years ago with borderpass - by private car - motorbike etc. - also to monglar border to china! also playing golf in kengtung!

The 500 THB fee you pay at Tachilek Immigration give you a border pass valid for 14 days in this province only .
I have been doing it a few time and slept overnight.
yes correct - but you can pay also in us-dollars! - "the law" in myanmar is US dollars and not thaibaht - so if you convert 10 us dollars in baht - it's only 299,6 baht at the moment - so will save more then 200 baht - you can better spend the difference for shopping or myanmarbeers...!
the border-pass is valid 14 days and valid for the town tachileik or if you wish to go even to kengtung - here is a public-bus for 400 baht one way - 160 km.
but also tachileik is worth to visit - not even the local border-market.
for golfers - visit the 18-holes golfcourse - very challenging!
for gamblers - hotel regina golf&casino - the casino is open 24 hours
for travel - visit the airport - daily flights with many airlines within myanmar
to travel on in myanmar from tachileik longer then 15 days in tachileik or shane-state (kengtung) you apply online for an e-visa
and do not forget to buy some nice booze - but not more then 1 litre p.p. allowed in thailand!
enjoy tachileik - another world just over the bridge - be aware - it is right-side traffic - and the time is 30 minutes behind thailand!

Totally agree about Savannaket, perhaps the most boring place on the planet...
no - this is absolutely not true - savannkhet is a very nice big town (second biggest in laos after VTE), direct on the mekhong-river! go there for the sunset with some beer laos and of course the best eggs in the world...(balut or kai luuk).
rent a motorbike and drive in to the backyards towards the vietnamese border! there is also a very beautiful lake not far from savannakhet.also shopping and dining - good experience - the best way is - drive in with your own vehicle!!!
for accomodations you have the choice in some very comfortable hotels/motels/guesthouses for a very fair price!

i was there tuesday morning the 4th june - 07:40 already about 50 people waiting - consulate/visa-service open at 09:00!!! at time!!! - out at 09:45! smooth as i let check my documents before opp. the consulate - there is a small restaurant with excellent and cheap food (pay in KIP!!!) and cold beers (pay in KIP) (the currency-rate was 1 baht=280 kip at the money-changer in VTE) - next to this small resto is a desk with friendly people (the main guy has not too many teeth ???? - he will check all your paperwork, if missing a copy of a document he will copy it for you - charge is free or uptoyou! i gave him 3000 kip (1 copie - copy the page in your passport with the entry-stamp laos!) - he clips all the papers together, if you want multiple entry non-immi-0 based on marriage, just add next to the visa-type on the application form "mulitple entry" - i show up at the counter - gave the papers incl. the original marriage-document - tooks less then 1 minute and i was out!
a big group (25 people) in front of me they sent back - out the door - the came by night-bus from vientiane through an agency - this agency arranged them all the papers, but they "forgot" to give them the application form - so the whole group was send out - to fill the form and BACK TO THE END OF THE LONG QUEUE!!! (this group walked out the consulate about 2 pm!!!) - i was told the next day, that tuesday they had more then 400 applicants! mostly from tour-companies arranging very expensive visa-tours!!! was talking to a young man from italy, he paid 6500 baht from pattaya - 2 days - 1 night! incl. hotel! ????someone told me, that they have actually in VTE about 1000 or more applicants every day...! (not proved?!)
wednesday morning, 5th june - i was told were only about 20 applicants!
to pick up my visa i showed up at the small resto at 10:45 - was already some people waiting (ca. 10!) - so the "trick" is - just take a bag or something with you and make a "reservation" in front of the entry-gate of the consulate! - then you sit down for a chat and a beer or whatever at the resto opposite! - the gate open 13:59 - i was out with my new visa 2.05! the queue at this time was very long...!
came with private car to the bridge 2.15 - through immigrations and paperwork car - left 2.30 laos and left thai-immigration and car custom paperwork and check etc. 2.45!stayed at the THEPPHOMMA HOTEL for 140k (500 thai-baht) per night, only 2,5 km from the consulate!

please feel free to play up in northern thailand! you will find some very good golfcourses!
the greenfee starts for example for a brand new golfcourse (at the moment 6 holes) for only 30 baht one round - so if you play 3 rounds (=18 holes) you pay 90 baht - plus caddy-fee is 100 baht per round and 100 baht per round, if you like to rent a cart!
facebook-link
this golfcouse is outside chiangrai - waypoint in google maps is here:
https://goo.gl/maps/LdbwUxWLhcBuw7Mk7
or actually is a promotion on the maekok-army-golfcourse - 18 holes - in very good shape
greenfee incl. caddyfee is 300 baht only plus tipp up to you!
this fine golfcourse you will find here on google maps:
https://goo.gl/maps/x2c4wsXyteR8XktD9
someone told me, that actually you have many golfers from bangkok who fly from bangkok to chiangrai play one round of golf and fly back in the late afternoon - cheaper and faster then to play around bangkok or somewhere on the eastern seaside!
enjoy golf in one of the most beautiful areas from thailand!
BTW: santhiburi and waterford golfcourse have also special promotions!
