I'm the same except registering my wife's house. Did the whole online application, got the email confirmation within an hour, and now registration is pending. It's only been 5 working days, and the online reply said can take up to 7 working days.. Hopefully will complete soon.
Just an update, finally received user name and password after 2 months to the day.

That's a great idea! Close the bars when working people are getting on the road to go work. Should help to correct that small shortfall in road deaths and get it back up #1 in the world!

Guess I'll do one final recap of my experience with TM-30 reporting. Sometime around June 15, 2019, I learned about the TM-30 requirement for the first time after becoming a member here at TV. Despite having been here for 2 years in 1994 and 1995, and then continuously here this time since 2000... that's about 21 years.
On June 20, 2019 sent all documents and registration for my wife's home using the online site.
Documents included in the submittal:
copy of wife's ID card,
copies of appropriate pages of her Blue Book,
copy of my passport picture page,
copy of my last TM-6 and entry stamp,
copy of my extension of stay stamps,
and the name of Alien in residence spreadsheet page.
All this seemed to go smoothly, incidentally, my Secretary did all of this so website language wasn't an issue, submitted and almost instantly got the email verification email and replied as required. Then the wait began. Naturally the website said it might take up to 7 days.... hehehe
Finally on August 20, 2019 I received my User name and Password. I immediately signed into the TM-30 site using the Section38 app on my phone, changed my password as they require (using just numbers and letters, no special characters) and that worked the first time!
I then registered myself in my wife's home. All very simple and straight forward, all in English (choice on the first screen), sent the form and was immediately told it was successful.
Then I went back to login screen, searched for my data, it was there, I took a screen shot and printed for my receipt.
The only real glitch was that my specific visa type wasn't listed, so I chose what I felt was closet type. Virtually all data after name is selected from drop down menus.
Used today's date for check in date which of course is 3 years after the date on the TM-6.
Used the end date of my current extension of stay for my check out date.
That's my story...

No, won't impact me at all as I already have and maintain health insurance. I don't see this as a major issue and not significantly different from other countries that require medical insurance even for short term tourist visas.

Yes, likely the driver's fault. But, also likely that if the passengers had been in a proper bus designed for passengers and not cargo, there might not have been 11 killed.
If you look at the first news article on page 1, you'll see that it was a standard 9 passenger van, not a cargo van. Or maybe I misunderstand your post?

There are many laws still on the books that are not enforced anymore. Like there is a law in Canada to install a horse post must be installed in front of your business (to tie up horses) but its no longer enforced. I bought my condo 25 years ago and second one 9 years ago. Its was announced on 28 March 2019 that TM30 would be enforcement of an existing 1979 regulation. I put my condo up for sale already.
Furthermore, your posts take up 90% of this forum. Enough already. Let people bitch without you bitching back.
Amen!

I've known about TM 30 for as long as I can remember, so it wasn't a secret.
Well, you are one of the few that knew about it. I've been here since 2000, making visas, extensions, all my 90 day reports, and had never heard of the TM-30. Read about it here at TV in June for the first time. I've been trying to get my wife's home registered so I can report as required ever since. After the email verification from immigration, I haven't heard another word. 57 days later still have heard nothing. I want to follow the law, but immigration makes it difficult to do. Immigration tells me about having to do a 90 day report in my passport. There is NO notation about having to report every time I return to my home after being gone for over 24 hours. If this is so critical shouldn't there be something mentioned on the 90 requirement slip or entering stamps or extension stamps to tell us about the TM-30? I truly believe most of us want to follow the law, but need at least some help from immigration for us to follow through. Okay, that's my 2 cents worth.

Obviously employer never provided closed space training as required by Thai law.

Just now, RBOP said:Very much appreciated. Did you happen to mention the online TM30 reporting is faulty and some waiting 9 weeks and still no password? I registered more than 2 weeks ago and still waiting too. Showed my email verification receipt that I registered but still got fined last week when extending my stay (at Chaengwattana).
I currently stand at 49 days and still waiting. I want to obey the law but it is difficult.

I'm American. Frankly, I love it here. I've been here a very long time. I've also lived in many other countries so have the ability to compare with places other than just the US. Yes, things have gotten a bit more expensive over the years, but where haven't they? For the most part Thai's are a great people, friendly and accomodating. There are hard to get along with people everywhere and one need not dwell only on them. Maybe part of the difference for me is that I decided to make this my home away from home. The US will always be my home, but I live here, by choice. I could never live as I do here in the US, as I simply couldn't afford to do so.
As I read many of the posts here on TV, I wonder why, if this is such a bad place to be, why do these folks that are so unhappy remain here? I get quite tired of most of the Thai bashing that goes on here, most of which doesn't need to be dwelled upon. As we say, TIT, get used to it or leave. Nobodies forcing you to stay. The culture is what it is. Bashing it isn't going to change it. The only Expats I've known over the years that have left have had to do so because of job requirements. I've only met one guy that told me he'd never come back, and that has more to do with his personal religious convictions than anything else.
As far as visa issues go, again, it is what it is. Nothing terribly insurmounting about any of it. I wish the US was a bit more involved in their unregistered alien problems and issues, and believe it has gotten very much out of control. At least Thailand's trying to get a handle on it. In the 20 plus years I've been here, I've never been unduly hassled by authorities. Haven't been asked to show my "papers" once, outside of a government office. Can't say that about other countries I've lived.
That's enough rambling from me. I'll just go away now and fade back into Thai society and continue to make this my personal choice of where I like to be and want to be. Anybody else actually like living here?

I don't know if the things have changed but I don't remember being asked for a no-criminal-record when applying for work permit. For permanent residence, yes, and in my country they had no idea what I was asking for initially, but I am confident it was never asked for during WP application. I have shared it (as I had it handy) during last WP application now some 3+ years ago, but was never asked for. Maybe someone else can confirm this?
I wasn't required to furnish one either.

Can a Thai Licence (or Thai Licence + IDP) be transfered to a UK Licence without having to take any further tests etc?
It would cost £100's, perhaps £1000's for lessons and after all that I can't see my Wife ever passing a UK test !!!... Simply transferring the Thai Licence to a UK licence would be much more convenient, but I'd suspect the process is more involved than that.
Having had licenses in multiple countries, I can say none in my experience "transfer" another countries license. Full licensing process has always been required. Either get an International License, which can be obtained in Thailand but not used here, or get a UK license. Really depends on what the UK allows. I know I can use my US license to drive in most countries, but don't know if there are time limitations on doing that. Hope this info is useful.

You are so wrong, so many times. You flatly don't understand right of way. Right of way applies when everybody is in their own lane. As soon as you leave your lane, as the bike did, he gives up right of way. The bike was driving the wrong direction in the opposite lane. It is his job to insure his own safety.

I've had the same thing happen to me, making a right hand turn onto a small yak from a soi, signal on for at least 1 block, I'm half way through the turn when a motorcycle that was passing the whole line of cars, going the wrong way down the lane, plowed into my right hand side. Granted it wasn't a U-turn I was making, but essentially the same thing. I must admit I rarely look for vehicles driving the wrong way on the road when I'm making a fully legal right had turn. Another common incident, how many times have you pulled up to a stop sign preparing to make a left hand turn, then proceed with your turn only to nearly hit or hit the stupid motorcycle cutting inside your turn! Motorcycles simply do not obey traffic laws and it would seem they are not required to.

Open a Thai account with a small amount, then wire anything you want into the account. My US banks charge $45 for a wire regardless of amount and my Thai bank doesn't charge anything to receive a wire. Money always in within 12 hours. I do this all online with banks at both ends.

Unfortunately every bit of the information you got is wrong... homeowners can register and report online and by mail and in person. At least at CW...
