FWIW, I get 2 year WP and extension of stay. I am BOI related, not sure if that's a factor.

No where near enough choices in the survey. I'm vaccinated with two rounds of AZ...

Got the email from the embassy this morning, and I had to just laugh. They have put their trust in Thailand and other countries to vaccinate the citizens who are living or working in those countries.
And continue to pay taxes to the US on all foreign earned income.

FWIW, I just returned from getting my first AZ vaccination. Hundreds, maybe thousands, of people there and I must say it was extremely well handled with nary a wasted step. I was in and out in approximately an hour and a half. The event was handled through corporate Thailand and the Social Security Office. So, kudos to Thailand for at least one very well handled and executed event.

I too included a car in my contract negotiation. Company leases from a local leasing company. I get a fairly limited, but satisfactory, choice of make and model, and complete choice of options. Get a new car every 5 years. On my 5th one now. Whole thing was accomplished up front and full cost absorbed by the company. Car did initially include a driver, but eventually I assumed the duty as I enjoy driving, even in Bangkok.

I would take it, as well as the Mrs. I've Been seeing reasonably good reports about this vaccine doing better than originally expected. I'm over 70 and some background ailments, so I want the vaccination at first available opportunity. Hopefully next year I'll have a choice.

I have a Thai tax number and a Thai Social Security account, been paying into both for over 20 years and continue to do so. Since you seem to be in the know, where do I go to register?

"They have since recovered after being given stroke treatments and no blood clots were found. "
Seems reference to this could have been made in the headline.

An interesting point not covered is exactly where these mobile units are located. Bang Khen is fairly large area.

Why not get it renewed in the US and the Thai Embassy or consulate, just as I do do with my US passport here in Thailand? Then you don't have to worry about it. I'd be very surprised if they didn't offer that service.

Seems simple to me... LEAVE!

Personally, I always get a new passport at least 6 months before expiration as most country's require a minimum of 6 months remaining on a passport to issue any visas....

In my jaded mind there's no doubt whatever it's political.
No problem, if some countries don't want the Az vaccine then there's more for those who do.
Very true except for when you're in one of the countries banning it leaving only the Chinese vaccine as an option.

Would love to see Gordon Ramsey's reaction to this!

Are you a naturalized U.S. citizen or U.S. citizen by birth?
A naturalized citizen usually has to provided their original or certified copy of their U.S. Passport or Naturalization Certificate based on two naturalized U.S. citizens I hand walked thru SS pension application process with Manila. But a U.S. citizen by birth does not have to provide any ID like a passport unless maybe the SS office wants to make sure you are who you say you are. When I applied thru Manila a few years ago for my SS pension no ID was required...I'm a U.S. citizen by birth.
I'm a citizen by birth and all I can tell you is what was required of me last July to start my benefits flowing.

It's all a very simple and straight forward process. Open your account on the SS web site and apply to start receiving benefits. The manila office will contact you to get a certified copy of your passport, which you do at the embassy and send to Manila office. I use my Thai address and have had no problems. I also have my Texas address on record. I started collecting on my 70th birthday, which is the maximum amount date. Amount does not increase after 70. They pretty much will deposit it where ever in the world you want. I deposit in my US account and transfer as I need, only because this works well for me. I went through the process last year with no problems whatsoever.

It sounds like a fairly good deal. However, if nothing else, I'd take it to a garage and have a compression check run, as well as a general look over. If that indicates good valves and rings, buy it. This is one area that is worth checking, IMO, as it can turn into a very high cost repair and the cost of the test should be minimal.

There have been a number of articles about the arrival of the Chinese vaccine, Sinovac. In the next week or so, the first 200,000 doses are to arrive in Thailand with administration to begin shortly thereafter.
In your opinion, do you think that vaccination is the best way forward and do you think this vaccine will work well enough to bring Thailand out of the economic malaise?
Chose the option that best expresses your opinion and feel free to leave a comment.
The provided answers don't answer the question. I can definitively answer yes to the question, but do not have enough knowledge to use the answers provided.

They are linked to your contract of employment, the first school I worked at would only give us contracts from May to February, the last school gave 12 months contiguous contracts.
My understanding is non BOI contracts WP's are limited to 12 months maximum, but BOI can be longer.
I wait to be corrected.
FWIW, my BOI WP and B visa extension are 2 year duration.

Simply put, yes you can. I do it often, no account required. However, I am sure it is branch dependent as to if they want to be bothered, on the other hand I've never been refused..

Typically anybody that has deposit rights to your account also has withdrawal rights to anything they deposited. That's why I move those deposits to another account ASAP. The bank probably didn't notify you of the deposit either, they are simply acting on a banking order you authorized.
