it was 40 bht years ago....how much is it now, the big yellow one in market? not in tesco or big c

Really? That´s scary! Please refrain from any kind of economical investments. Only Buddha knows what you will base your calculation on in that case.

Yes,  I figured it would be touch and go.  I was guessing that there wouldn't be any queues at both immigration points at that time of the evening.

Anyway,  a night in Udon Thani isn't a bad idea.

You never know the amount of people at that border. Last timne I went about that time it took me over 1 hour just entering Thailand. it was huge ques.

As you post, take a night in Udon.

For future reference, you can usually type in just about "any" driving distance request at google.com

Yes, you can. Not if you want a correct time given, but just for fun it´s ok.

Google is good for many things. Distance and time as well as translate is not any of them, I am afraid.

You can not use your time for anything, because you do not know how easy it will be to get transportation, how many times you need to stop and change, as well as time for Immigration out of Laos, waiting for bus over bridge and Immigration time for entering Thailand.

To the OP: Read and listen to @MarcB and chose to stay one night in Udon Thani. It´s gonna be hard to get everything working in the time you want.

Assume you mean no investment is worthwhile over here. However if you had put money in PTT 5 years ago, you'd now be up by 33% and that's before including annual dividends into the growth, dividends currently stand in excess of 4.5%.

So, based on just one mundane Thai stock example alone, "none" is the wrong answer.

Not saying that none is the right answer, but this is a time when it´s important to be very careful. That due to the instable economy in Thailand that just gives a false positive of growing stronger and stronger.

As you post, 5 years ago would have been great, but not many people could forsee this rapid growth of the core economy. Today it´s a totally different ball game.

I have some things that I stillb elieve in, but I would never suggest that to somebody else. To big risks to play with somebody elses investments. As you state, you have a good portfolio in your home country, I suppose? I am then pretty sure that you quickly can grasp the situation here and therefore are going to serve yourself better with your own decisions.

  5. If it is an original you have bought, then the shop/seller would be the one that provides a legit paper if it is allowed to take out of Thailand. If you bought it in an antique shop or a souvenir shop, then it´s a very big chance that it not authentic and a very good made reproduction.

If you can not get the paper or verification, then you will have to contact Thai customs. Get it in to your country is usually not any problem. (Depending on the country of course)

  6. The first thing I can think of, is that the contract and the reciept of deposit according to the contract will be your most powerful leverage.

If a person wants to disappear, they can do that easy and it´s hard to protect yourself from.

If you meet her when signing contract, then you can tell her that you need to make a TM28/TM30, and need copy of her housebook and ID card for that.

If you had looked carefully, they were arrested because they were working online illegally in Thailand without a work permit and not because Chinese authorities want them deported.

They weren't taking any jobs from any Thai people and were working online. The customers are also not Thai people or any people living in Thailand.

Isn't that what other digital nomads do?

If Chinese authorities want them deported, they would just be sent back to China and not charged in Thailand for working without a work permit.

No they were arrested for doing a work that Thai people in general can do. A digital nomad that does work pointed to his own country and in his own language have nothing to worry about.

You have changed the news into something that it was not about. Stop making up stories as you go.

  8. I do not think it will be possible to change only the glass. It was not possible on the S7 model I had before. However, the price for change both glass and led will be around 5000-6000 baht for original. Copy you can get all from 2500-3900, but I strongly advice against that due to very big function and quality issues.

FoodLand and all other stupidmarkets should be sued for any injuries due to not being able to control one's own groceries!

Who said it´s their object to control your groceries? Shame on you!
