  1. That there is a cabale, or more than one, in the police protecting their tea-money revenue streams (flows upward) is hardly surprising.

It’s all in flux since PT stole power and Thaksin’s return.

So Big Joke is a fly in their ointment and has an ability to fight back successfully when attacked. Some entity has clearly been trying to push him down for a decade, and he bobs and weaves around it and returns more powerful. But the hits get harder closer to the top.

I was not at all surprised at this recent attack.
    Consider ;

‘hot girl connected to online gambling is busted, told we’ll give you a pass if you come on to Big Joke, become his Mia Noi for a bit, and we’ll have his underlings reeled in by party-time foolishness and greed. While sticking some cash in accounts he’s allegedly connected with, as if criminal cops use open accounts.

And then announce he’s the ring leader. You can walk and be famous.’

Seems like a classic Big Mango power play.

I’m happy to see him fighting back.

  2. But’ judicial coups’ like what is ending Pita’s publicly backed run are perfectly fine.

    “…sole authority to immediately suspend

any army, navy or air force officers at any ranks

or in any positions from duty,

given suspicion that those military officers

might possibly be mapping out a coup

    with use of force

    to overthrow an elected government

    and tear up the constitution…”

    - - - - - - - - - - - -

    ‘sole authority… has suspicion… of possibility’;

Sounds like an elected, paranoid dictator….

Actually, as it turned out, she was sitting on public property. The owner of the house had encroached on the beach building the steps there. Those steps were then demolished. So legally, as a Thai citizen, she was sitting on her property and got kicked by the Swiss man...

The builder of the property did the missteps not the renter. He had every reason to think they were on his rental land and not public land.

Plus all the public attention can take it's toll on someone who usually has a quiet life in the background

This is clearly being manipulated for jingoistic affect. Should have been a non-story weeks ago.
Some political agitprop going on making her stressed.  I call BS. Merde de Toro.

Quite a few tourists have lost their lives at those waterfalls over the years. It's high time they construct some sort of steps with railings and a securely fenced observation/lookout area. After all it is one of Samui's main tourist attractions and is promoted as such, so it should be safe for visitors.

There is, but not not everywhere. And people ignore the safe areas to try for something more fun, a better selfie or the like. Human nature makes the young think they know all and they are strong and invincible.

  6. Good news. It was a dodgy charge to begin with.
It was not him as a person,

it was him as ‘Juristic Person’

    ‘his father’s executor’.

But also, not a lick of ‘media business’ was done in 15 years by this dormant company, just waiting for a law suit to finish. Nothing to do with manipulating the electorate unfairly.
So a good call by the CC.

  7. I had Dengue.

Which hit me while driving a bike. Next morning was bone break bad, went to hospital 2 days later, I did the correct diagnosis before the Doc.

Hospital said drink as much water as you can, no aspirin or ibuprofen, only paracetamol.

    Go home $60.

You don’t get bit in taxi on way to airport and get deathly ill before you arrive. It’s days before flashing eyes and then ‘Bone Break Day’.

ICU is gouging. He could get fluid drip in any bed, not a problem and not $2,700 a day.

  8. I know this spot well. And with the current rain fall it means it is screaming down and spraying widely. Beautiful, but a large safety nuisance also.

The spray feeds the moss and algae all about the rocks. It’s as slippery as anything, bare feet have no purchase, flip flops hardly more. One step and you slide off before you realise. And down to the next level of hellish rocks.

Every year one two sad souls try selfies, or play explorer, or want to sit in a pool of wildly twisting water. Once in the pool you might stay ok for a spell.

The problem is getting to the pool and from, is like walking on an 45° ice rink. In dry season you can manage this, the water is far less, but in monsoon season it’s insane.

There are signs warning of the danger but they get ignored by a few Darwin Award Winners, who accidentally remove themselves from the gene pool for their own choices.

    RIP

It’s not the relatively minor wealth of politicians that is distorting US politics, it’s the open door given to the hyper wealthy to buy control over policies.

Its well past time to get rid of the perversely named ‘Citizens United’.

Citizens United is a name exactly the opposite if it’s actual effect.

    Worst SCOTUS decision ever.

    It must be over-ridden.
