It is all about education. The alcohol laws should be reviewed. What is the use of an alcohol sell ban from 2-5?? If you want to buy alcohol and if you are over 21 no problem by doubt show id..Make bar owners bartenders responsible for serving too much alcohol and let the RTP work too in the evning and at night and check and do an alcohol test for everyone....Make Thailand an normal country

2-5 block is intended to stop “liquid lunches” from becoming a lost ‘day of constructive work in safety’. Yes, have a beer with lunch, but back to work till happy hour.

While the USA says it's waiting for Thailand to send the documentation....

    Hmmm

Clearly the envelope is sitting on some bureaucratic numbnutz desk. He’s in Dutch for not processing it, so remains facelessly silent, and no one else knows who this blockhead is, so they want to pretend it never arrived.

And of course blame the yanks.
    Who are patiently waiting.

And since it is 100% criminal for USA citizens to hand over brown envelopes to thai ministers or their minions, they must know that is not happening, full stop.

Let alone give out teamoney for a freebee donation…. Oh, here’s your bribe to accept this free donation. Enjoy!

Before all the US expats say their country/embassy is not looking after them.  Consider this.

Embassies are not in foreign countries for the sole benefit of their citizens.  They may provide some services however they are not there for just you.

Embassies are in foreign countries to act as liaison between the host country and the government of country of the embassy.

Winge all you like but that is the truth.

Well the French did it no problem.

USA citizens still pay USA taxes and deserve the same treatment as all other tax payers.

And consulates are there for citizens and potential visitors to the host country, even if embassies are inter-governmental.

    Full stop.

  4. why are so many repeating January when quite clearly it says JULY 20

“…The letter dated 20th July is from MoPH official Kiatphoom Wongjarit…”

    So this Tuesday week.

it also said this was sent to all Provincial and ministrations expanding on Bangkok.

”… A letter issued by the Ministry of Public Health on Tuesday has told all provincial health staff throughout Thailand to vaccinate all people in three high risk groups.

I can’t see it applying to delivery drivers, and some may need to take a taxi to buy necessary items, or travel to a vaccination site.

Walking a dog isn’t necessary, so I guess that’s forbidden, unless you take your dog to the supermarket.

Right, just tell the dog to use the chamber pot and then dump it out a second floor window like in the pre-rennasaince.

Wow, a country that actually does the right thing and supports their expats with life saving vaccines.

And the French expats are not even required to file tax returns every year and be subject to citizen based taxation.

Contrast that with US expats who are required to file taxes from abroad every year and possibly be subject to double taxation and whose embassy basically

does not care for their health and well being. Instead they prioritize donating vaccines in the name of "equity" whereas Americans are not even guaranteed to get these donations that their tax dollars pay for.

    Exactly!

USA has created a ‘separate class’ of tax paying citizens not receiving the same health benefits that they are already paying for for all others…

    Class action suit, anyone?

Both wife and sister (both Thai nationals) had Sinovac

Sinovac for Thais at two large hospitals Samui H. In Nathon and Bangkok Samui H.
And Oxford/AstraZenica at Rajabhat tourism college for the 1,500 expats. Next round for the latter is 19 September.

Reasonable well organized operation. Everyone in the queues were extremely glad to get vaccinated before the island opens to tourism in a couple of weeks.

  8. Run by the same folks trying to route all internet traffic through government monitoring servers in Bangkok to prevent Thais from seeing stuff Paternalistic Big Somchai doesn’t want them seeing because it embarrasses their self image.

The government internet comprehension and computing resources are truly 3rd world. Not so much the criminal class of course. The major embarrassment is continuous government own goals.

Hell hole is bit over the top. It is a beautiful laid back island that 99.9% of tourists enjoyed with a very high rate of returning tourists.

More farangs have been murderer in Pattaya over the past decade.

And plenty of people, farangs included, have got away with murder in Pattaya and there many scapegoats sitting in Pattaya prisons.

Singling out Ko Tao is good story "Murder Island" but a bit unreasonable IMO, especially from people who have never been there and seen what a nice place it actually is.

    Have you ever been there?

    Been there more than once.

    Won’t go back.
Some folks there are far to bent to risk it. And that is very well known on the neighboring islands.

Asymptomatics (False Positives) don't spread a virus.

Asymptomatic doesn’t mean false positives.  That is 100% wrong.

Plus, Pre-symptomatics can be spreading it before they get knowingly sick, and can infect others, while not realising they will soon be sick.

It means a positive cases that shows no recognised strong symptoms.

So a ‘false negative’ with minimal or unrecognised symptoms, or no symptoms.
