  1. All I had show for my OA retirement was a copy of my bank statment, downloaded copy of Thai medical form which was sign by a VA doctor for free and a local police report stating no wants or warrants a very simple procedure/ this was through the Houston thai office via FedEx never even had to go there. There are pros and cons to both ways of getting a long term visa but for the wife and I not knowing anyone here in Thailand or speaking the lanuage the OA in America was much easier than jumping hoops here for the first time. It was nice to arrive and know we had time too sort all procedures out.

  2. The Thai Marriage Visa requires a document from the U.S. embassy proving "Evidence of Income" .... I did a quick search of the U.S. Bangkok Embassy site but didn't find anything.

Anyone know what is required to get this document? Tax records, bank account statements, pay stubs?

    Thanks for any tips.

All, you do is attest to the amount that you fill in on the paperwork and pay the fee takes about 10min.. No additional paper work is required at this time

  3. I have arrived in Suvarnabhumi about 20 times in the last two year. I never had a bad experience. A good attitude (smile) when you are the desk and proper documentation is key.

I don't understand all these people that complaint about immigration at Suvarnabhumi. I think they actually bring that onto themselves

I completely agree.................Never had a problem and service has always been excellant with a "Wecome home added"

  4. I agree with the JusMag solution and I think you should also make appointment with JusMag to get get your wife a ID card and get her listed on the DEERS program as soon as possible. Also not sure if you have her on your tax rolls but check with social security about any payments and what you have to do now to insure she is covered.

  5. You can withdraw money using an ATM for a small fee from international bank accounts so long as your card can access Cirrus or Plus. There would be a daily limit, arriving with a large amount of cash may not be the best move. As well as you may think you know your fiancé there are many tales of woe and leaving lots of cash lying around is tempting fate.

Why not just change banks?? Several of the US banks will do either monthly or recurring transfers.
