I'll be picking up a new Honda PCX Hybrid at the end of the month (99900b) but have never driven one. Can new owners give me their driving impressions? I expect the bike to have more power off the line where the electric motor kicks in.
Thanks
How much more expensive is it on the standard version ? I seem to recall they were about 80K Baht plus last time I looked.
What is your reasoning to get hybrid ? Better fuel economy ? One would think you would need to hang onto it for a very long time to reliase any monetary benefits ? ????- 1

Good luck.
My Sister In Law (21) who we let live with us rent/utility free could not look after our dogs. We then offered her 3000 baht a month. She decided to do it. Small dog x 2. All she had to do was feed them, make sure they had water and cleaned the poo up.
We had CCTV and could see the <deleted> piling up. The neighbors were complaining. I was post op in Aus and our only alternative was for Wife to come back... Needless to say we kicked her little ass out....
Finally we had to take dogs to Mother In Law and paid an extra 3000 Bt to her... It was painful to watch the poor dogs... We are back home now and dogs are fine....
Think twice before you get a dog here, we don't seem to have the good options we do in the west for care.

Hi AtlasAus, I have it through working here. I had it long before I got married. It's not linked in any way to my marriage.
I don't think it's available to any foreigners who don't have a Work Permit. I do know that when/if I retire, I can stay on the program, but I assume that is only because of my many years of working here. Thanks mate.

Glad to hear someone going into the details before they come to Thailand - well done mate.
I think Ubon Joe's advice is the best - 5 years Elite - no hassles and very flexible - sound like you can afford it.
My advice is more in general - I know you didnt ask - but just in case:
1. Keep your money in USA - only transfer/take to Thailand what you need.
2. Do you want kids? If not - then get a vasectomy - now. I know two of them and hear about so many Expats who 'fall' and before they know it they are supporting a family (years later it is - what the **** happened?) Do not think you are smarter or better or cleverer than anyone else on this issue - you are a male.
3. Do not buy any property in Thailand for a while - rent only - and try various cities after a year or two in each - only buy when things are finished back home with the parents etc. and you have settled down.
4. When staying here do not argue or insult any Thai person - just smile and agree.
5. Join Expat clubs and get socially involved in something (golf for me) - dont spend 24x7 on forums - make a life.
6. Keep open the option of starting a business or getting a job - best way to keep body and mind active.
7. Get health insurance for each visit - good travel insurance from USA for a tourist in Thailand.
Well written and great advice ????

I have brought into Thailand , thru Swampy ,6 months supply of two prescription medicines on many occasions. Always in carry on luggage and never been asked/searched once. Both are available here but terribly expensive. The Australian PBS helps with the cost.
To date I have not been asked or searched, I too bring 5-6 months worth, but 7 different scripts... Takes a lot of space. I split them into two bags just in case one gets lost... Was not aware of the limits....Hopefully I get through next month.
The PBS certainly saves us a lot of money. I did a price comparison and even including the airfare it was still far cheaper to get at home. One drug none of the pharmacies has anyway. Sucks getting old ! ???? -

There are various reasons that a non-o visa can be issued for. Marriage, retirement, being the parent of a Thai, volunteer work, to visit family members living here and etc.
You could get a multiple entry non-o visa based upon marriage to a Thai in Australia. You would need to apply for it at the embassy or the official consulate in Sydney.
For retirement they are no longer available.
Thanks mate

Hey all,
Is there a reference to all the O visa types, it's all very confusing ! ????
When I went to Thailand the first time I got the Visa here in Brisbane it was Non Imm O with multiple entires... I wonder if that is still relevant ? I can't recall how I did it all back in 2014 but am married now with Thai wife.
We are heading back over in November.

Just read some reviews.... I don't think the cost and small % of km/l is worth the outlay for the hybrid.
