My own experience, is that the police don't do anything for free, unless you can offer them a cute girl and offer to go on a date with them. Policeman told me, it's 5000 thb for their service, or 3000 THB if my woman friend can go on a date with him. My friend gave her number to the police so I saved some money. Problem was the police really wanted that date, and she got some problems because of it.

It's most likely a scam. So many things don't add up about this. The family refuse to show any evidence at all. Police in Koh Samui has not heard about the accident. Hospitals on the island has heard about the accident. The girl has a large unpaid debt in Sweden. She don't have any address in Sweden. The only source of information is the mothers own word.

Many people are suspicious about if the accident actually happened, and if it's just a scam to make money. Gofundme seems to have stopped the donations from coming in. There's nothing about it in Thai news.
