I think the Chinese would like an American military base on their doorstep. A lot. I'm guessing this is all connected to the events ramping up around Taiwan, the South China Sea and the Indian/Chinese border. It looks increasingly like China is going to get a kicking either later this year or early next. Nothing brings in the votes or turns around a recession like a nice bit of war.
Say what??? You would HAVE to be a Trump supporter making a stupid statement like that. Those of us that are even semi intelligent realise that a war between the US and China would ultimately lead to "lights out Earth"

The logical answer is that they got in too late, far better to jump off now and save funds as others are on the brink of production after serious and positive testing results.
Enough of all this negative crud people, this bug is soon to be gone from our lives, but I pity those who wont get vaccinated, no travel for a while for them

Sorry for the deleted word - did not think it was that bad. As a car driver here...in the Sukhumvit area, I witness, almost daily, drivers of certain cars getting away with a myriad of offences - often in plain view of the boys in brown.
I think it's called Envelope Brown

It totally amazes me that for all the usual cynicism many of you TVF mob put out on a daily basis, some of you are actually believing that Thailand has no Covid?
No tests, no Covid. But strangely record amounts of death from Influenza, Stroke, Pneumonia
Talk about the Ostrich burying it's head in the sand.
Stay safe, stay home

Totally disagree with you.
Foreign tourism is necessary to boost the economy. What's tthe point if most of the money is going elsewhere?
Madmitch is a perfect name for you, China and Thailand are awash with Covid, do you really believe that either of these Governments are open and honest?

I'm in Victoria and you need to do more research, there are only a handful of (mainly ethnic) suburbs in Northern and Western Melbourne that have larger quantities of Covid, with one Islamic College alone accounting for nearly 200 infections, the rest of Melbourne and Victoria are doing just fine with little or no infections but the Victorian Government is (rightly) super strict so they put the whole state under lock down.
At least here we tell the truth about actual Covid deaths and dont falsely record them as Influenza or Pneumonia deaths like many dishonest Governments in your region are doing

Who says they are fly thrus?
If you multiply the Thai Covid stats by 100 you'd still be way off the truth IMO, logic says if you consider how many infected Chinese were crawling thru Thailand for at least a month after WHO declared an epidemic then add the Thai "you think too much" attitude .....seriously
wakey wakey dreamers!!!

In Melbourne they are conducting around 25,000 tests every day on a population of 5 million, today they found 415 that are positive due to an isolated outbreak mainly in the Northern and Western suburbs
Thailand manages to test 1500 for a population of nearly 70 million, what's the chances ???

But note, strictly for business purposes with written proof of business from the Taiwanese company, so no destination for holiday makers
Not sure of the others but currently Australia wont let Australians other than Diplomats and Medical experts travel anywhere outside of Oz, but there is talk of a bubble between Oz and NZ that will be for holiday makers.
Qantas just grounded all flights until October so I'm guessing someone high up has whispered in their ear

For a bubble to be a bubble both countries must feel confident that the other has Covid under control.
Given that scenario then imposing a 14 day quarantine would be senseless and totally discouraging to all except perhaps partners wanting to return to their loved ones.
That still has barriers as the home country may not allow these partners to enter Thailand if they see it as too great a risk, in other words they dont believe the Covid stats that Thailand puts out

One thing for certain, you aint gonna see many US tourists or returnees in Thailand for a long time.
The country has a seriously bad discipline problem with the younger folk, too much detachment from reality goes on their small minds.
Step 1: Get rid of the Chief Clown
Step 2: Vaccinate the entire US population
Step 3: Vaccination Passports become an essential reality for all International travel
Step 4: Welcome to Thailand

That's very good news, however why am I constantly reading news reports that Thailand are looking at opening a Travel Bubble that will include China (rated 32 in this Covid Recovery Report) but no mention ever of Australia which is rated number 1 ?
Should we read between the lines on this?
Is it putting the Baht before the Nations health?
Is it racial discrimination?
I have my opinion, what's yours?

Why is China listed as a low risk country? Didn't they shut shop on reporting Covid stats very early on?
Or am I mistaken? If they did (and continue to) then there would be a very high risk involved in allowing Chinese tourists in I would think.
Surely the likes of New Zealand and Australia should be very high on their list with their stats

Then be prepared for a conventional war with the USA or nuclear attack.
Seriously buddy??
Are you not aware that if either USA or China launched a Nuclear attack on the other then 90% of Humanity would be wiped from the Earth and the remaining 10% will wish that they had.
The Chinese will eventually reclaim all that they wish to and thats just a hard fact.

Vietnam? no deaths - why? because they very strictly quarantined the sick and let healthy people live their lives albeit with masks etc. No lockdown except if a case was found (only 300 nationally).
You are very naive to believe the integrity of medical stats that any Asian Communist or Dictator led nation puts out to the world. China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand all fit that bill.
You could reliably guess that 10 times stated figures would be closer to the truth.

The "First Movers COVID Group" includes Australia, Denmark, Norway, Greece, the Czech Republic, Israel and Singapore. These are the countries that are doing the best in the World in terms of defeating Covid.
Neither China or Sth Korea are in the group.
Need any more proof that this is simply a push for Tourist money, regardless of the danger posed to the Thai people
