No batteries are allowed in checked in luggage.
I travel with a Justfog C14 with removable batteries. I have 3 batteries, never had a problem.
I am always a bit afraid, because vaping things are still illegal, and I heard stories of people receiving hefty fines. I keep the batteries together with my battery pack for my phone in my carry on luggage. Other parts I put in different places.

Try the <deleted> we get away with here in Oz, Couldn't happen. It's a good retirement destination for me,but then again.. My glass is usually half full. Try it?
Ok, let's see what can go wrong.
Your wife wants a divorce, and keeps the house, because it is her house. Not yours.
Thailand adopts 2 new laws: The first one is that you are not able anymore to transfer money out of the country. The second one is that starting next year you need 10 million in the bank for a new extension.
The problem is that even after living in Thailand for many years you still have no rights. This is very different than other countries where you will get a new passport or some kind of permanent residence after being married and living together for some years. You can enjoy now, but cannot be sure how it will be next year.

I think you can use Transferwise for this. Maybe you can use the Thai credit card to pay Transferwise, so they can transfer that money to a US bank account.
It did similar things often, only never tried this with a Thai credit card. Transferwise fees are usually very reasonable.

Wrong. I think they not want to talk to you about that, if you think that.
i like Thanatorn. Future Forward.
Read thai forum, millions the people talk about opinion.
>> Never lose
I looked at maps of Thailand in history. The country got smaller a lot, because all countries around Thailand took/stole parts away. If it continues like this for 200-300 years more Thailand will be only Bangkok. Rest will be owned by other countries.
The idea that Thailand was never a colony of the West is completely wrong. Many parts were a colony, and never given back.
>> Wrong. I think they not want to talk to you about that, if you think that.
Sorry, but I do not believe you. I remember when I passed the portrait of your King together with my girlfriend. I will never forget her face when I said something. It was pure fear.
I stayed in Thailand for a relatively short time compared to others. But from what I saw Thai people are prisoners in their own system/country. Not only based on freedom of expression and politics. It is the system, including human rights, rights at the work place etc.

I think fair to ask to fill a simple document say your name and where you stay.
We not build a big wall to keep the foreigner out.
We let you live here ? We have the right to live here. Living together when married is a human right according to the United Nations. An agreement that was also signed by Thailand.
That simple document is something Thai people should be ashamed of. Other countries should impose the same rules on Thai people.
>> The Thais are peaceful and loving, but are not cowards in war.
Sometimes when people ask me about Thai culture and Thai people the first thing I say: With their mentality they will never win a war ????
>> We are ready to die for freedom, security, and prosperity!
Most Thai people I know are even afraid to express their opinion about politics, afraid that something can happen to them. That is not freedom.

More important are the number of days you stay.
I know someone who comes to Thailand 2-3 times a month on a visa exempt. But he only stays 1 or 2 days each time.
I go to Thailand with a visa exempt, extend that for 1 month so I have a total of 2 months. After that I go back to NL for a month. Return with a visa exempt, extend it again for a month so I can stay for 2 months. And go back to NL for a month. I do this now for a year without problems. Till now no problems, but I am a bit afraid.

I grew up in a village with a lot of cows. We owned horses ourselves. I spend every day a couple of hours in our stable after school. To clean up <deleted>.
Animals like cows or horses standing in poop all day can get problems with their hoofs. They get weak, can burst, bleed. Next they can get infected. For horses this can be fatal if not taken care of very quickly. En best of course is to prevent this from happening. A horse that cannot walk is only useful for meat. Animals with hoofs need a dry place to stand. Some days in a wet place is ok. But for sure not too long.
Poop can also contaminate food. It attract flies etc.
Your cows will love you for a clean place to live ????

I agree. The new trains are used because of the extension of the lines.
The frequency hasn't improved.
Why don't they add carriages to the existing trains, especially in rush hour? That would help a lot.
Sent from my SM-C710F using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
They are already using the new lines with the trains which are already in service. Adding new trains should make a difference...
Adding carriages is not always possible. Some stations are not made for longer trains. Engines of trains must be strong enough for more carriages. And the electricity can be a problem. There must be enough electricity to provide for a longer train. And in total there must be enough electricity on a line for more trains. It can be possible. But there are enough reasons why it might not be possible.
Problems with electricity are a reason why in my country we have lines with only 4 trains an hour. The line doesn't have enough electricity for more trains.

And it really annoys me to think that as a UK Brit of 55 years that worked all their life, an unemployed EU citizen can bring their unemployed wife within hours !
This is not completely the truth. And what others can you can do yourself too.
If I want to marry and live together with a wife from a country not in the EU I have to comply to very strict rules because I live in NL. I need to have enough income, if I am self employed I need to show that I made enough money in the past 3 years. Before my wife would get a visum she needs to follow lessons to learn to speak Dutch, and make a test in the Dutch consulate in her home country.Only after this she will get a visum to travel to me with the goal to live together.
Other countries have rules with are less strict. Belgium and Spain are examples. But as an EU citizen I can use these countries too. I can for example move to Belgium or Spain. Rent a house. Register myself. As a EU citizen I have the right to do this. My wife can come on a tourist visum. In Spain it's no problem to overstay that visum. If I register her on my address, marry and live together for a year we can both move to NL without problems. Upon arriving in NL I will have to prove that we lived together for a year in an EU country. And she will get her visum to live together.
I don't know how this will be for UK residents after Brexit. Probably the right to travel and live/move permanently in EU countries will be restricted. The law that after living together for a year in the EU your wife will get a visum is also an EU law. But at least till now it is something you could use too.
The idea that you can do this while being unemployed is of course not so. Although (as far as I know) you do not have to prove that you earn enough money you do need money to pay the rent and other things. So you need a job, or enough money in the bank.

As a matter of interest I opened an account with Bangkok Bank recently, no letters from an Embassy required, no certificate of residence, no insurance, no guarantor, no first born, just my passport and an initial deposit, I was in an out in twenty minutes with my account, a debit card and internet access.
Where did you do this and how much was the initial deposit ? It seems they have different rules in different branches.

Assuming you end up getting a one year extension of stay, you could go back and re-request Bualuang iBanking. This worked for me. Otherwise go shopping for another branch, and obviously sort out the internet banking thing first.
SCB also allowed me to open an account and enroll in internet banking.
I heard that SCB only opens an account when you have a work permit. So I never tried. Did you get it without or ?
-
I opened an account at Bangkok bank some months ago. They required a legalized copy of my passport. My consulate gave that to me. Account opening took about 15 minutes. Later I found out that internet banking did not work. I went back, and they told me that I could get internet banking only with a 1 year visum. Something I don't have. I went there with a tourist visum. I do have a 1 year rental contract, but that was not enough. This happened in Bangkok bank on Sukhumvit between Nana and Asok.
I don't understand. They gave me a bank book and a Mastercard (debit). Why not give internet banking too ? Some things in Thailand I don't understand. For me the account is useless without internet banking.
About half a year ago I opened an account with Krungsri bank (Tesco Lotus at On Nut BTS). Its a nice bank. They required a 1 year rental contract. They really focused on that. After 3 bank employees confirmed that it was really a ONE year contract they gave me the account. Bank book, internet banking and a debit Mastercard.
I heard from someone else that he opened a Bangkok bank account in CM with a tourist visum and they gave him internet banking, a debit mastercard and a bank book. It seems that rules are different in different cities.
So if you go to Bangkok bank and they agree to open an account for you also ask if it includes internet banking...

It is time for this <deleted> to come to an end. I hope for a fast Brexit. Close the tunnel. Cancel all ferry services. Cancel all flights. Disconnect them from the internet. And then hope that the sea level rises sharply in the coming years.
I'm completely done with it. Nobody in the EU deserves to see every day what a mess they make of it. I have been to the UK several times. And always had the impression that it was not much more than a lagging third world country. Travelling in the UK always feels like going back a century in time. I just don't understand that they think it is necessary to prove every day that their country is like a banana republic.
I do expect some negative comments. But I think everyone knows I am right.

4) you don't setup a company in some third world hole just because...you live there for a while. And then u end up with 5 companies after 10 years and your whole business is a mess?? Clients can't even find you because you are hiding behind a new company after moving to laos...
Sorry but this is extremely bad business advice.
The only reason to setup a thai ltd is to deal locally in thailand.
You are right.
Technically if you setup a limited in a country which is convenient for you you will get dividend (income from investment is not work) and salary because if you work for a limited company you are just an employee. Even if you own that company and you are the director.
There is no difference in working in Thailand for a foreign company or working for a foreign company you own.

1 hour ago, worgeordie said:So charged with money laundering, but not with exporting marijuana,?
The real story is different. He owned several coffeeshops in The Netherlands where they sold not only coffee but also marijuana. I have been to one of them ???? This is completely legal in my country.
He made a lot of money, but didn't pay tax on all of that. And that is where the problem started. In The Netherlands it is ok to sell drugs, but you will get problems when you do not pay tax. He stopped his business and moved to Thailand with his money.
It is strange that you can get convicted in Thailand for something you did in The Netherlands and also was allowed to do that in that country.
The money-laundering part is of course a joke. A lot of people have money they didn't pay tax on. And a lot of people use that money to buy things. I once read somewhere that only 7% of Thai people pay income tax ?
In The Netherlands this is now a bit of a scandal. Police wanted to catch him, but he was gone to Thailand. They informed the Thai police that a marijuana dealer moved to Thailand with a lot of money.
For the Thai police this was low hanging fruit. And it confirms once again that foreigners are dangerous and that they really do their job very well <sarcasm>.

Russia is the only other country that I know of, note that Russia also monitors FB and other social media postings, just like Thailand, so be careful what you say!
"According to the Russian law, your visa must be registered within 7 business days upon arrival to the Russian Federation.
That is only once, upon arrival. After that you are allowed to travel anywhere without registering again.
They do enforce this. If you arrive in Moscow and travel by Transsiberian express to Mongolia without registering they can stop you at the Russian/Mongolian border and send you back to Moscow to register. The fines are a joke, but the consequences can be annoying.

If you invite a Thai person to stay with you in, let's say Europe (EU), you are the guarantee that she stays with you. So,the immigration/border police in your country knows where she is.
They don't. There is no guarantee that the Thai person will stay at that address. It's also not a requirement. A visum to the EU will give you the right to travel in all EU countries, without reporting.

You can just go for single entry non o visa for dependent which has no financial requirements and is good for 90 days. Sure you have to hit up an embassy every 3 months but sounds like you are doing the that already. The non o single entry is so easy to get that you can go to a lot of other embassies like in Vietnam that maybe you wouldn’t have for your tourist visa
An this visa you can extend for 2 months if you have a son ? Or only 1 month ?

You never met and it sounds like you already have plans to marry her. If you learned about her on a dating website she is probably writing with 10 others also. And you cannot blame her. A lot of weird people online who promise a lot.

They can, if they look at the user agent string of your browser. Although there are browser plugins to change the user agent string.
The banks do not say this to to bully you. The problem is that Windows XP is not supported anymore, no bugfixes etc. It means that you are more vulnerable to abuse.
