Solar system with Safe T Cut keeps tripping
Dan O replied to pedritosan's topic in The Electrical Forum
Check and make sure they didn't leave an old neutral to ground anywhere on any circuits. Since you don't have proper ground wires in the way they wired in older systems that was a common connection. With the safe t cut gfci you will fault out and trip. I had that problem in our house when I upgraded and had to search around and finally found it and removed it. -

My Landlord Stop Me from Leaving the Country

Not quite sure how they would have any access to banking data in any other country. Sounds inaccurate to me. They may have run a credit report which would show accounts but they would see anything about an atm card. -

Shall I Move to Permanently to Thailand?
Dan O replied to FaltuMora's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You can do everything you've listed for far less than what you posted but that would require a change in your lifestyle to some extent. You control that. No more 5K a month hookers which is extreme high. I don't know that I would go the LTR Visa. I would stay with the Retirement Visa and take the burden of continually having to generate the excess income while retired and get that off the table. It all comes down to balance so your money lasts and you still have a good lifestyle. You definitely don't want to end up with no savings to fall back on should you need later in life. -

Your old passport is returned to you in the US separate of your new visa so you should have it to provide the pics for the upload. I would call them rather than email them. I believe the Foreign Ministry controls the E-visa system so you may want to contact them. I would delete your application and re-enter it new and see what happens -
Victory Residence Hotel at Victory Monument has monthly rates. Good hotel, decent staff and close to BTS and everything else you need. Rates are decent. https://the-victory.com

If I remember correctly yes its illegal in the context that you can go to court and request a divorce with sufficient proof. I dont believe you can have the offending party arrested (its a civil offence not criminal) or put in jail but can sue for damages. If won the I believe that compensation is set by the court. Adultery does not include use of prostitute services though?????

I'm confused. If you send 65000 baht its already converted and forex exchange has no impact although fees deducted for transfer may. But if you send any other currency without checking the exchange rate first to make sure your total arriving funds meet the 65k threshold you could have a problem. Am I missing something here?

My Landlord Stop Me from Leaving the Country
Dan O replied to Sparky Barry's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Its only applicable if a case is filed with the court and the court orders it. You could have gotten an extentision based on the court case preventing you from leaving -
Read comprehension is a tricky thing
-
I don't think I'm the confused one. Foreign Sourced income is income paid outside Thailand from a source not located in Thailand. Thai sourced income is income paid inside Thailand from a company in Thailand. At this point its no use continuing as we don't agree on the definitions which is fine.

I believe if you read the tax regs you will see what I have quoted. For a foreigner generating income outside of Thailand (foreign sourced) to be taxed there is a 2 tier qualification that needs to be meet under the tax regs, Source and Resident rules. . 1. ) If you live in Thailand 180 days or more in a calendar year and generate foreign sourced income 2.) you must bring that income into the country in the same calendar year to be taxed. If you live in Thailand 180 days or more but do not bring that foreign sourced income into the country in the same year you do not pay tax on that income. If you are not in Thailand 180 days or more in a calendar year you are not a taxable resident and pay no tax on income outside of Thailand. To add another wrinkle to the discussion there are bi-lateral tax agreements to avoid double taxation. Per that section of the regs over 50 countries have double taxation agreements with Thailand to ensure you won’t be taxed twice – once by Thailand and again by your country of origin. The United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Norway, Russia, are a few of the countries that have such treaties in place. There are numerous links if you google it or if you read the tax regs it outlines it. You must meet both the Source Rules and the Resident Rules for the answer on taxation. if you don't agree that's fine we'll just have to disagree but no sense in going in circles at this point. Restaurant owner confronts negative reviewer at their home
Dan O replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
They are appropriate and don't make you "keyboard warrior" if accurate and reflect your experience. Im not saying it isn't subject to any defamation laws in Thailand. Im speaking to whats appropriate not whats deemed legal in Thailand -
I believe what I wrote is correct according to the tax regs.
-
Im just quoting the tax law that exist currently. As I clearly pointed out there is no easy way to tell if your money you bring into the country came from working in the current year or past year nor who to look for to capture all the foreigners with income coming into the country.
