Anyone accessing this Forum on a cell phone, give thanks to Hedy Lamarr.
Not a very good example for this topic. She was married and divorced 6 times, the last husband she married was her own divorce lawyer, and then she divorced him as well. ???? Most of her marriages lasted less than 4 years. ????
My mother was Hungarian and looked very similar to Hedy.

This was the precise scenario that the Multi-entry Tourist Visa was concocted for. (As opposed to facilitating Multi-Entry Tourists).
I have been using the 6 month METV to enter Thailand for the past 7-8 years and traveled to Thailand for perhaps 5-6 months each year. Just before covid I was pulled aside by the immigration officer at Don Muaeng Airport when returning from Cambodia. He told me that was using too many METVs and that I should use a more appropriate long term visa if I wanted to be in Thailand for more than a few short periods. It seems that even the METV won't save you from all the immigration officers.

I just looked up on Google and one of the results was the "Yoni Massage".
"Yoni massage is a sexual tantra practice that involves massaging the vagina, which is called yoni in Sanskrit and loosely translates to "a sacred space." Yoni massage allows you time to slowly explore your body in a more sensual way. It can help people who usually feel finished after one orgasm to achieve multiple orgasms, and it's especially beneficial for people with vaginas who have never had an orgasm. It can also be very healing for those who have suffered sexual trauma in their past because the approach and technique is all about giving — making the vagina owner feel loved, cherished, worshiped, and honored."
So there you have it. It might be a legitimate massage technique after all. Although I suspect that the masseur providing this service should really be a female unless the customer requested otherwise. And the customer MOST CERTAINLY has to provide informed consent before the massage. Perhaps this is where the misunderstanding came from. That particular shop offers a "yoni" massage, and the masseuse explained in broken English/Japanese and thought he had consent, but the Japanese woman did not understand what she was in for.
Men can also have a "testicle massage" which is offered in some Thai massage parlors and is not a sexual service. I had one once and hated it. Very painful.

If it was my phone I would be asking to shop owner to hold it for me while I rush to the shop. I would be paying the 2000 baht and consider myself lucky to have my phone back. It is not just the physical phone that is important to me but also the contents, all my photos, contacts, apps, etc. I do have a lot of stuff on my phone backed up elsewhere but it would till be a major time-consuming hassle to buy a new phone and try to remember all the installed apps and content. 2000 baht to save a lot of time and effort, as well as the cost of a new phone is most certainly worth it for me.

Who knows how he was treating her for her to react in such a way.
Probably did not have enough money to buy the brand name handbag she wanted.

I buy the Voltaren SR100 (Slow Release 100mg) tablets over the counter without a prescription at my local Thai pharmacy. I only take a tablet when my foot swells up painfully on occasion. These tablets work quite well. The pharmacist always warns me about taking them for extended periods so I try to avoid taking them and use Paracetamol instead if the pain is low level. The SR100 tablets usually cost around 29 baht each or about 870 baht for 3 strips of 10 tablets each.
Back in Australia I can only get the 12.5mg and 25mg tablets over the counter and the 50mg ones only with a prescription. The 100mg ones are not even available in Australia as far as I can tell.

The Daily Mail has an "interesting" twist to this story if people feel like criticizing the accuracy of journalism.
"Boyfriend SAWED Ukrainian model to death at luxury Bangkok apartment and then used Google Translate to help get rid of body"
"Lagoda-Filippow flagged down a taxi, whose driver Surachai Sabaibang later called the hotel to inform them of the Pole's erratic behaviour after his passenger allegedly used the Google Translate app to ask for help cutting up a body."
Who can we possibly believe?

Well they just need to get their priorities right! You might want to consider moving to a backpackers guest house where they employ their own barista.
But a backpackers guest house won't have marble fountains.

2 and 11 seem relevant. What is considered a petty crime? 2 years probation perhaps? But 11 might present more of a problem seeing that his offense involved money scams. Don't forget that money is god in Thailand.

Condo. 2 people. Minimal AC use. Went from around 1500 to 2900 this month. So yes, doubled. Expensive to start with and now more so.

Is it okay to lie to your partner of 5 years?

This is one of the benefit of Thailand. Buying a house is very cheap compared to most of our home countries so if you lose it then it is not necessarily a major financial disaster. As you say, write it off as rent especially if you have been living there for a few years. I have been living and paying rent for my condo for the past 7.5 years and paid a total of 1.5 million baht rent. I would have to pay more than 4 million to buy an equivalent in this building and then I would be up for maintenance and various building related monthly fees. In my opinion it is always much better and safer to rent in Thailand than buy.
My very first Thai GF was always lying to me and I was too stupid to dump her after the first few weeks. I thought I loved her but in reality it was an addiction to a person rather than love, not even lust to be honest. She always hid her phone screen from me when using it, by attaching one of those covers with the flip lid so I could not see her screen even when I was laying on the bed next to her. She often had to go to visit family blah blah blah. She always lied about money and why she needed it, and always too much. The first place she found for us was a very basic Thai style room which cost 4000 baht deposit and 3000 baht a month rent. The first day we arrived she offered to go downstairs and pay the deposit and rent and told me it was 9000 a month and the deposit was 15000. Being a newbie I believed her and gave her the 24000 baht. After a few days she "got a call from her family" and had to go see them for a few days and needed another 15000 baht for her bus fare to Khon Kaen and some food. I thought it was too much but being new and having no idea still gave her 10000. She did not answer calls or come back for more than a week. After she left and I went downstairs I happened to notice the cost of rooms painted in bold letters on the front window of the building which I didn't see when we first arrived.... 4000 baht deposit and 3000 baht a month. I got really p1$$ed off and was ready to leave her at that point. Ended up visiting Soi Cowboy and Nana every night for the week she was gone. Ended up dumping her a few months later when I received from an anonymous Facebook person a few photos of her being "lovey-dovey" with her Thai boyfriend. The anonymous person told me that all her family and friends were laughing at the stupid farang who was so easy to scam out of tens of thousands of baht. I could have been angry but instead I just dumped her, blocked her, and moved on, considering it an expensive life lesson on how to be a lot less trusting of Thai people.
My current Thai wife of 8 years is quite the opposite of that previous woman. She is honest, frugal and caring. She also knows that I learned a lesson from that previous relationship and that I am not easily fooled like I was back then.
