In my country we have a saying: "Als men een hond wil slaan, vind men een stok."
Translated to English (literaly): "when you want to hit a dog you will find a stick".

I have only been to AMS a few times to deliver masks and other medical supplies from China to die Nederlanders in the depths of covid. Your wonderful language was  sometimes pretty easy for an English speaker to understand.

I have no idea what that is supposed to mean even with the translation.

Who told you they were targeting aid workers? Read the posts above on Hamas use of ambulances and similar vehicles. That is where the mistake probably occurred. Who was inside the convoy

You are about 36 hours behind Israel's lies.

Yesterday Netanyahu said the whole assault was in error

So then who was in the aid convoy does not matter does it now?

My guess is the only reason José Andrés is not dead is he is a celebrity.

    Nonsense as usual.

You made a good post before. But  the central premise of your criticism is invalid. Looking forwards to more pearls of wisdom from the Scouse brain trust, much more reasoned and literate than those of our Penny Lane Pandit.

My country too has crooked Pols and 30 percent plus adult males (USA) convicted crims with long arrest records. We cannot deport them, we should not execute them.  Unfortunately Thailand allows them in  them in without criminal checks.

No matter how bad Thai politicians or criminals are, their actions do not reflect negatively on me or any other foreigner, not like your chums from Her Majesties prisons and gaols you vouch for and mollycoddle.

The whole white diatribe is idiotic. According to Audit Scotalnd :

According to population data, 95.4 per cent of the Scottish population report their ethnicity as 'White'. Approximately 4.5 percent of the population are from ethnic minorities, with the Asian population being the largest minority ethnic group (2.8 per cent).

So what kind of representation does he expect? Apparently not proportional.

White is not an ethnicity. It is a lack of skin pigment that provides privilege.

    Now then Captain Sensible,

What is a Farnung? Is it something unique to Phuket? Flowers? Fauna? Give us a clue.

"Every problem and hassle occurring over the years is partly the fault of foreign crims"

Where did you dig that one up from you misguided person?

So, the military coups, rice-pledging schemes, rampant corruption, colossal road deaths, poor government, the ridiculous disparity between the haves and have-nots, unbelievable wealth against grinding poverty, is all the ' foreigners fault ' in your way of thinking?

    "scroungers and scofflaws"

I would say this applies far more to the Thais than it does to us ' dirty foreigners ' they are the ones who flout the laws and steal from the government coffers, we don't even get a look in.

You need more vitamins, a balanced diet and two doses of reality check.

How did the rice pledging scheme affect you?Do not please, pretend the problems  and hassles affecting the average law abiding expat since 1998 have anything to do with Thai criminality or politics. it is the foreign crims who drag you down.

  6. Never agreed with anything this Pineapple  ever said until now.

Face facts Mr. farnung. Unless one holds PR or Thai citizenship you are a permanent short-term visitor.

Every proplem and hassle that has been increasing over the years is partly the fault of these foreign crims

scroungers, and  scofflaws. Heavy fines then Thai Jail  and then deport.  "persona non grata"

And what has this to do with the OP's post about getting from SUV to BPH.

It has only to do with the philosophy of life where one hopes for the best and plans for the worst.

    • Not making a an appointment based on a flight landing exactly on time and then an entire sequence of of subsequent actions and events thereafter from immigration clearance to predictions of traffic like a soothsayer to be perfect.

Ever heard of the 7 P's?

I know what you mean. I have had the same periodontist doing my teeth here for 15-20 years. Best cleanings I have ever had anywhere, and she stays pretty booked.

I have really fast plaque buildup and try to go every 3 months even though ny insurance only pays for two cleanings

Chiang Mai clinics I used also get booked up well in advance

I started going in Japan during covid to this one clinic.

Easy to get appointments. Figured out reason  they have crazy long hours even weekday nights and Saturdays.

So, you're going anyway, and getting your teeth cleaned while you are there, okay.

If it's near LAX why would you worry about traffic? Do you really get off a twenty-hour flight, pick up your car and go direct to the dentist? Why not just go the next day or week?

No, that is what I am saying. I come in the day before, and I always have a backup flight planned.   Going to LAX usually out of the way now but  I really like this clinic. No upsell and great care and concern for comfort. They are all lady Dentists from UCLA who were trained by a certain professor/Dentist who is now retired. Real pros.

I do not own a car in any country and never will again unless forced need it for mobility. Personal ownership of cars should be banned, especially for Farangs in Thailand. It is job negative for Thais. I take the bus or Uber

You fly to the US to have your teeth cleaned?

Yes, and for work. I don't have to but have been attending the same excellent dental clinic as much a feasible near LAX since the late 90s

In which case he would be late for his appointment, hopefully it was nothing as critical as a teeth cleaning.

The cleaning is not as important as the busy periodontal schedule reserved months in advance, and my reputation for reliability. The schedule is ridiculous and sometimes I get in on the waiting list.

Thus I do not plan my arrival assuming the last possible flight  arrives on time then guessing on traffic conditions.

    You are one strange poster.

But if the bus did crash, he could ask to be taken to BPH for treatment and also fulfill his 3.30 appointment.

    You are one vill canker.

    Ever heard of personal responsibility?
If you miss a doctor appointment you alone are not left out it it is the others who could have taken that time slot that you blithely ignore flying in with no backup. The mind boggles.
