I visit Thailand once or twice a year for 2 or three weeks at at time. I have an AIS sim card which I got a few years ago but keep it active by topping it up occasionally so as not to have to get a new one each time. Can anybody tell me what is the best plan for internet, data, call, messages etc. and how to buy it. Until recently there seems to be have been lots of options but all I can see now is one or seven day plans. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

I have not used AIS for about two/three months. Topped up today to keep sim active which brought credit balance up to monthly charge for package which I was using when in Thailand. . Got charged for recurring package. Cancelled it by dialling *689*61# . Got text confirmation of cancellation

In the past I have transferred money to Thailand using Wise. I always got a good exchange rate with low charges and fast transfer. Last month I used Wise to transfer a small sum of money ($50) to an account with Advanced Bank Of Asia Lmited in Cambodia. Wise charged a small fee but when the funds arrived in Cambodian bank only $41 was credited to the account. Presumably Cambodian bank charged $9. Does anybody have any advice on how the send money to Cambodia without paying huge fees? Thanking you in advance for any suggestions

I went to a gold shop in Pattaya to buy gold (obviously). I asked if I could pay with credit card. The lady in shop said "yes" but that I would be charged a commission. I forget what % commission. I know, from my financial services experience, that all merchants , in this case the gold shop, are charged a commission by the credit card company. I did as previously suggested by another poster. Went to a nearby atm and withdrew cash. Kept the gold in hotel safe.

I have brought up to five bottles between duty free and checked in luggage. I know it is a risk as only 1 litre is allowed but I was never stopped by customs. Thought it was worth the risk.

Thai government probably can't see how to make any money out of it

I have stayed in Zing Resort and Spa hotel many times over the past few years. Nice small hotel not far from Jomtien beach. Might be worth considering

I think that it will not now be very safe to visit any part of Thailand where Chinese tourists go. Mainly Bangkok, Chang Mai, Pattaya and Phuket. Of course they may visit other areas but these are the cities where I have seen the most Chinese. You may be staying in the same hotel as them. Using the same swimming pool, dining in the same restaurants etc. Do any other people have other opinions or advice?

Should not be a problem for Chinese to get vaccination certificates, vaccinated or not. After all, everything that comes out of China is fake. I doubt if Thai immigration would be able to tell the difference.

Phuket. Better scenery, beaches, islands, Patong Beach. . On the downside the rainy season lasts a lot longer there and it is waaaaay more expensive than Pattaya

I can't use Wise because they have blocked my account. They need proof of income source.
