  1. I noticed this graffiti in Pattaya while doing one of my walks around town. I was also wondering if anyone can translate the Thai text underneath.
  2. The first thing any hardcore Thai apologist does as witnessed in these comments is deflect from the story and point their finger at the west.
  3. I spent 2 weeks in one of these covid “hospitels” back in July after testing positive for covid during ASQ. They moved me from ASQ and transferred me by ambulance to the “hospitel” which was the Citrus Grand Hotel in south Pattaya. My insurance covered it. I was sick for a week and recovered but they made everyone stay 2 weeks. I was the only foreigner in there. All the other patients were Thai. Its not a very comfortable place to be in and it makes having covid worse and more stressful than it needs to be. Every meal was terrible and cold, a few times I could not identify what the meat even was, you’re only allowed to drink water. Nobody spoke english except the doctor who I never actually saw, only spoke to him on the phone. No special amenities, deliveries or anything like that. They let me out of the room a few times to get chest x rays on site and have blood drawn. Overall a very bad experience that I’ll likely never forget.
  4. I tested positive for covid during ASQ back in July. They took me by ambulance to the covid hospitel for 2 weeks. It really was a horrible experience and its true, nobody spoke English. I was the the only foreigner there, some of the Thais were taking photos of me like I was a zoo animal. They put you in the room and tell you nothing. The only person that spoke English was a doctor that called my room every few days. Every meal was horrible and you’re only given water to drink. It was a glorified jail. I feel bad for her and anyone that has to go through it.
  5. I thought these people were all fully vaccinated and some boosted yet they’re still catching covid and spreading it to others. I’m starting to think we haven’t been told the truth about the vaccines. I was considering getting vaccinated but now its unlikely that I ever will. I think a lot of people were coerced into getting vaccinated and now are regretting it.
  6. The the article said “objecting to or criticizing a booster is unreasonable”. These vaccines and boosters are not risk free. Speaking the truth about what’s really going on with the shots is not being unreasonable. Get vaccinated and boosted so you can still catch covid and spread it.
  7. A lot of Thais seem to have an attitude that a foreigner owes them something.
  8. Called foreigners dirty then ran over to the US embassy to shake the dirty farang hand of the ambassador and accept millions of donated doses of the Pfizer vaccine.
  9. All these people testing positive with symptoms or no symptoms end up being quarantined at least 2 weeks in a covid hospitel. I tested positive for covid back in July during 14 day ASQ. They sent me to the covid hospitel for 2 weeks. It was a horrible experience to say the least. It makes having covid much worse than it needs to be and adds a lot more stress. Think they’re coming on their holiday only to get this bad news on arrival.
  10. Police are making up ways to compensate for their usual revenue streams drying up. All those closed bars not paying any tea money. Police are likely in dire financial straits. Ford Raptor payments and mortgages on the line.
  11. They give a chest X-ray on the 12th day. If it is normal they are released on the 14th day as long as they are not reporting any other symptoms. The early chest X-rays I took did show the covid was in my lungs, my later X-rays showed it was gone. They also take tubes of blood throughout the time you’re there to check the levels of antibodies in your blood. I was fully recovered on the 7th day at a covid hospitel and had to wait another week before being released. The doctor told me I should still rest and recover further at home for two more weeks.
  12. No I didn’t have a choice. Each ASQ hotel is partnered with a hospital. Some are better than others so it’s a good idea to check which hospital they work with before booking. A doctor called my room and informed me I had covid and an hour later an ambulance showed up and took me away. I thought I was being taken to a hospital but it ended up being another hotel converted into a hospitel.
  13. I believe I contracted covid on the airplane or at the airports. I flew from Tampa to Chicago to Frankfurt Germany to BKK. The airports were extremely packed and every seat on the flights were taken. I knew I had covid the day I arrived. I had a temperature and a headache with bloodshot eyes. You can feel it and there’s no doubt. I tested positive on day 2 when they gave me a pcr test in ASQ. They then moved me from ASQ to what they call a hospitel which is a hotel acting as a hospital.
  14. Yes, I got my discharge papers already. Just waiting for noon to officially leave this place.
  15. It was horrible, it’s not a good environment for recovering from covid either. Today is my 1st day of freedom, I’m gonna get a coffee as soon as I get out then I check into a hotel for a few days to decompress then I can finally start my Thailand trip. I can’t believe this happened to me. It was an experience .
  16. It’s a small hotel room. Everyone here has covid, I’ve only seen one other foreigner. We get 3 meals a day which are usually cold when they arrive, have a shower in the room and a balcony. No extra amenities at all. We only have water to drink and no deliveries. It was a rough 2 weeks.
  17. I get released today from a covid hospitel at noon after testing positive for covid on my 2nd day in ASQ. I’ve been here 2 weeks today.
  18. The UK will likely add Thailand to its red list countries at the next review if the rate of infection continues. Then everyone returning from Thailand will have to pay £2k for quarantine
  19. They got him on cctv driving his motorbike in the area, he confessed and he’s covered in wounds that would appear to be from a woman trying to fend him off. He’s not a clever criminal, he’s a junkie who committed an impulse crime and left evidence all over the place.
  20. The first symptoms I experienced was a headache and body aches followed by a high temp of 38. These were the initial symptoms. The fever only lasted about 36 hours but the worst was yet to come. I could feel it making its way down into my lungs. From my head to my nose and mouth where I lost my smell and taste to my throat and eventually felt it take hold in my lungs. This was the worst I felt and it lasted about 2 days. I was a little delirious and had an elevated heart beat. My oxygen never went below 97%. I was mostly in bed the entire time and it was quiet nerve wracking. The situation of being quarantined doesn’t help and only makes the anxiety worse. I can’t point to anything that made it better, I just woke up in the morning and could tell it was going away. A few days after that and I feel much better. Just to be clear I was never vaccinated. I tested positive on the 1st pcr test the day after I arrived. I had a negative pcr test in my home country and felt the first symptoms about 72 hours later. I believe the onset in my case was very quick. A few people have quoted me and are being negative so if they’re reading this just know I won’t respond to you. The last thing I want to do is get in some bickering back and forth argument.
  21. I tested positive for covid in ASQ 8 days ago. Im already recovered from it. I had no vaccine. I’m still waiting to be released though. I believe I caught it on the flights over. The planes were packed and so were the airports. It’s not a death sentence like the media tries to make it out to be. You’ll most likely survive it like I did.
