OP started an axe-grinding thread, phrased a question when he really wanted to express his hate/contempt/dislike for a certain group of people that are really none of his business.
Alway impresses me when a person resents those who have less than he does.
Here's an idea: MYOFB.
Mind your own farming business melon farmer.
I live in Bangkok and have a full-time job and I could care less what guys who are living their own life in rural areas are doing.
I wish them the best.

My opinion is not relevant because I do not have the knowledge to support it. What I do know is that those pushing the anti-trans bigotry do not have all of the facts either.
I don't think this particular issue is anti-trans bigotry.
It's just a question of sexual dimorphism.
Males normal distribution of muscle mass is shifted to the right relative to females.
That means that males in general will have an advantage in almost every competition.
Billiards and chess not so much but pretty much every athletic competition.
So allowing people who were "males at birth" (for want of a better term) to compete in women's sport is patently unfair to the other competitors.
IMHO any argument against this is double-talk.

Several people answered the survey that they would be buying the Trump cologne.
I find that hard to believe.
$250 bucks for any cologne just seems ridiculous.
Anyone who has actually bought the stuff?
Is it even available yet?

I have two series of questions about this article, as well as the others regarding transgender athletes.
1. How are they going to determine the gender of a person? The article says they will use "biological definitions of male and female." What are they, and will all athletes who want to compete in women's sports be required to undergo tests or examinations to determine or verify their gender?
2. This article clearly states they will "bar transgender athletes from competing in women's sports." What about men's sports? Can transgender athletes compete in men's sports? And, if so, why don't they change the designations to just "sports" and "women's sports"?
1. Common sense and practicality will be used? I would think testing would be needed only if another competitor challenged an athlete. If testing becomes necessary can test for Y chromosome right?
2. This is less likely to be an issue. Biologically sexual dimorphism in the species means that statistically men tend to be larger and have more muscle mass so have an advantage in most sports. If there is a sport where women have the advantage again testing for lack of Y chromosome could be used could it not?

"Maybe he did deserve it. Has anyone you know been quietly minding their own business and beaten into a coma,? Maybe he's one of those c u next Tuesdays who can't hold his liquor and likes to start trouble, like so many of his countrymen.
What is the balance of probabilities and how much can we put you down for on his gofundme? "
I'll give you the "like so many of his countrymen"; could have stopped after "like so many"; no reason to make it about nationality.
But the questions Flaming-dragon asks are pertinent.
Why so many from all countries can party for years in Thailand with no trouble and some guys can't stay out of trouble for 24 hours, 7 days, 1 month - whatever short interval before finding trouble?
Is it just bad luck?
Father of the year comes to Thailand leaving his wife and kids back home?
Or wild and crazy guy comes to Thailand to demonstrate how partying is done?
I don't know the answer but it could be either or somewhere in between.

Any stats on the break down of permanent residents?
I didn't consider that as it seems these stories are mostly concerning tourists.

What is the balance of probabilities is a good question.
Here on AN there are many people with years of experience in travel in Thailand.
I haven't seen anyone come forward and say "I was shopping for a 'Same, Same, Only Different' t-shirt and I was suddenly attacked and beaten unconscious".
It's possible this guy is father of the year but there is range of possibilities where he is more or less a bad actor.

Why every time the same story?
And why it happens all the time to Brits?
Of course we all wish a safe trip home as soon as possible.
"And why it happens all the time to Brits?"
I wonder as well.
Even given the number of British tourists relative to other nationalities is seem like Brits are in more than their share of these disaster stories.
United Kingdom: 121,529 tourists visited in January.
United States: 118,038 tourists in January.
Taiwan: 116,779 tourists in January.
Germany: 112,828 tourists in January.
France: 110,515 tourists in January.
stats are from Google"AI Overview"

Who would buy this stuff?
I guess the ultra rich might buy it for a joke.

I use my SCB balance to pay local bills and those who I can pay by transfer to their bank account.
For cash I withdraw from a Charles Schwab account in the US.
Each month Schwab refunds all ATM fees from other banks.
Nice benefit, I don't know of other banks that provide it.
If you can have a US account it might be an option.

Deep. Very deep, man. Like the big Lebowski type of deep,
You are describing most gyms.
My friends go to gyms. They also do not smoke, or use drugs.
Please clarify what you mean by Big Lebowski type of deep?
There are limits to civil discourse and I hope you do not mean to cast aspersions on The Dude.

In business disputes keep a civil tongue in your head ... oh too late.
Sounds like it wasn't the efforts at collection but the verbal abuse that led to violence.

Didn't the article say he was in a stretch of road where no motorcycles were allowed?
Maybe that is why.

Says he's a plasterer, as much work as he wants, nobody cares what he looks like.
Well, he may say that but people do care what others look like.
To me, his facial tattoos suggest many possibilities about him none of them good.
An astounding lack of foresight would be one.
A "rebel without a clue", anti-establishment syndrome as another.
An "I don't give a sh?t" attitude as another.
Any of these, again suspected not confirmed, would be enough for me to move on to the next plasterer looking for work.

Good riddance to this kind of scamming scum. Throw him in jail, but his sentence should not begin until he pays back all the money he stole from his victims. That would be true justice.
The thing is he probably has only the one way of making money.
Probably don't want him out scamming to raise funds to pay victims of his previous scams.

"So are you lace curtain Irish or pig sh?t Irish?"
I guessed somewhere in between.
Maybe you are closer to lace curtain on the continuum.

Thailand is great for saving money but not when it comes to health in my opinion. Not somewhere id want to be if i were sick
I agree, for minor health problems it is great.
Doctors here (I have only been to private hospitals for outpatient care) are great, for me have been better than my docs in the US.
But for drugs requiring a prescription, compared to Medicare covered medications they are much more expensive.
And if I ever need hospitalization, even though I have medical insurance, I would seriously consider going back to the US.

He was fat, but didn't seem fat enough that he couldn't squeeze into an airline seat.
Apparently his problem was about legroom?
It is possible to be fat and be an idiot, maybe the latter was his real problem.

Chaos Erupts: Hotels Back Out of Thai Government Tourism Scheme
in Thailand News

Sounds like mostly a failed IT implementation.
I always wonder about nepotism/cronyism when IT projects go off the rails.
"My son studied coding for 6 months, he can build the needed IT support".
Or people who coded phone apps thinking they can build a multiuser business system.
Or plain old graft, IT contract to the company with the juiciest bribe?
Seems like a professional IT company could have implemented the requirements, not exactly a problem on a par with a mission to Mars as far as unique challenges.
Now fixing a system that was screwed up from the start, there's a challenge.
