Read the article a bit further.     Not more than 6 volts.

What kind of car do you Have?????????

Edited to add: AND the article as well as it's caption specifies "POWER BANKS"

forget the exact wording. no officer will care. he will have his very personal interpretation just as always

  2. Corrupt police ordered to be your first friend?

Kissing Chinese ass publicly must be a new experience for Thais... is it smelly or juicy?

Desperate measures to get back the Chinese tourists, now compare this with racist statements and open hostilities of ministers towards farang...

I have a solution how to solve the crisis: Just sell parts of Thailand to the Chinese, Bangkok to the Chinese would be great! They buy everything, just like they have bought and occupied Laos (and many other places...)

  3. You need to see the context:

Chinese are exempted from visa fees. Given the millions of Chinese don't paying visa fees (expected 40million...)  there is a huge loss.

So we will pay tourism tax to compensate for the free of charge visiting Chinese!

Lovely, I am always happy to support garbage Chinese!

I am sure after Chinese will protest and threaten to stay completely away, they will be exempted from tourism tax !

The big question would be - how this tax would be collected. Can't think of anywhere in the chain that Ministry of Sports and Tourism has direct transactions with tourists. Attractions would be mostly under Ministry of Natural Resources or Ministry of Fine Arts. The whole thing does not make sense.

Entrance fee in cash at international airports right behind the immigration or right after a domestic arrival, like in Myanmar in some places (where renovation needs were obvious and some fees to enter cultural heritage zones were understandable)...

  5. Just a few days ago they wanted to distribute money to tourists to make them come...

Now they want collect money instead?

Just same hotels, the lower the booking numbers the higher they put the prices...Thai strategy..

Thailand does not suffer from unrenovated tourist attractions and the money they would take in will be never used for tourist related things but for injecting it into the pockets of some corrupt ministers and generals and the rest will go into the economy to make up for the income losses.

Who believes they will now, at already so low tourist numbers, start renovation projects at their tourist attractions, what a huge nonsense.

They keep avoiding to get the message, make Thailand cheaper if numbers are falling, special offers, special packages for long stayers, etc, not more expensive! There is huge competition among tourist locations!

    Chinese foreigners or white foreigners?

He is beloved beyond Thailand's borders...a superstar! A hero of medical science! He just cannot understand why the whole country's people are hating him while he has so many foreigner friends... Little man it's your bad mouth why everyone wants you to be fired.... Thais believe they don't need your service to the country and they believe you won't make it much longer in office.... let's hope...

I did told you to do your home work, guess you didn't think it was important, pity..... btw, since you are taking such a drastci position on the matter, have you ever been in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region?  I did and know for a fact the lies that Chinese government make about the " were in fact vocational training centers" thanks for making me laugh

Let me contribute to this. I have been last year to Xinjiang and have witnessed things I will never forget in my life. I was harassed by police, detained and held for hours at checkpoints for no reason, detained in my hotel with police in front of my room, police observing me and walking behind me, got my camera checked by police in and secret police without uniform. Why, just because I wanted to go to a famous tourist places to take pictures of nature and landscapes. I was not on any political mission and new nothing about Xinjiang, just wanted to see the beauty of Xinjiang's nature known from many movies. I felt like 007 living in a movie. Scared to hell to be one who disappears, because accidentally mistaken identity or coincidence to just be in the wrong place where something happened what has to be kept secret, or just victim of crazy fantasy of some officers. To disappear like so many disappered. I was thinking of informing my embassy where I am and that I am "soft"-detained for no reason in my international hotel.

I was never accused of everything officially, police told me I did nothing wrong but they still had me under surveillance.

I was taken off public busses lots of times per day, like everyone on these busses, everyone went thru xray and biometrical checks, etc, in average I went through checkpoints with full scale checking about 30 times per day!!!

I don't know who those are and what reason they have to deny even here what is going on in China's most beautiful province, (working in Chinese embassies possibly?) but I have witnessed myself what I am talking about, and that has changed my opinion in such profound ways. The true scale of what happens in Xinjiang, deleting the entire cultural heritage and identity of muslim minorities, is still not reported by any media on full scale, in fact we see probably 10% of it only, but the truth will come out, no such huge thing can be hidded forever, not even when China puts economic pressure on countries and companies to stay silent.

And btw, LiKeZhang himself some 3 years ago on Chinese television, Xingiang is an experiment to test a new way how to deal with "radicalized" masses, which means that mass surveillance will come to other provinces as a tool to silence people, if this experiment goes unreported.

Police stations, literally every 300meters, are called "service stations". Xingiang has become a police state of unbelievable magnitude, George Orwell could never have imagined it...

And police in Xinjiang is mostly not real police but army from central China, Beijing and Xi'An, that changed the uniform to gain legitimacy. Now they take care of the picture, they have learned from the media disaster about things in Tibet or the Tiananmen Square massacre, in Xinjiang they use far more sophisticated methods.

  8. Incompetent idiot man. He should be kicked out of office. He lost face because farang refused to take a mask he wanted to give him in front of cameras. Farang should not engage in giving big face to an idiot like that in front of media. He lost face, the farang is a hero to show him what he thinks about him. Go to hell big guy! BTW the face mask he wanted to give him he held in his dirty hand, it was already just because of that not clean to use, I would not accept that possibly dirty mask too. It was only a media show, just like all what Thai government is actually doing. Everything for the show, nothing for the people!

  9. It's not just about Pattaya. I would consider every flight a high risk operation. You are breathing over many hours the air into one might have released his viruses. No filter or face mask stops it and it gets evenly distributed all over the aircraft. That in itself is the single biggest concern I would have, because u can't do a thing against it. Otherwise in Pattaya you can take some precautions on your own. Frequent and long handwashs, hand disinfectants (sold out in Pattaya, you need to bring) etc. Avoid crowded places.

And another thing is that there might be some bar ladies or massage ladies already infected but without symptoms as the first 2 weeks can be symptomless! So you dont really know what you sign up for.

  10. Does anyone have some more recent information about how to import a motorcycle into Thailand be it temporarily or permanently. I do know it is difficult and better to buy in Thailand instead but I cannot get the model I want so there is no other way than self importing it.

I talk about my own 1 year old motorcycle, not a new one.

Would appreciate any help. Is there a company doing this professionally. (Import from Switzerland)

    Thank you.

All businesses and companies in mainland China are obligated to comply fully with any requests or demands from the government, otherwise they get shutdown. Hence the complete lack of trust regarding Huawei.

True. Especially media and communication. They censoring everything, included television (BBC, CNN, and others, turning black when they report about Xinjiang or Hongkong unrests or any other critical issue) They are so scared of their own people and scared of any truth to come out. be it Corona or any other dirty things they are committing.

Simply put, if the official figures were classified secret tencent WOULD NOT have those numbers... they would be tightly controlled in SCIFs and by secure limited access.   They would not allow access outside top officials within the government.  No private company, no matter how friendly would have access...

Not to mention if the mortality rate were that high, there is no way that now the virus has escaped China that there would be a higher mortality rate in the non-Chinese numbers.  The containment has been lost for sufficient time for the numbers outside to reflect more the numbers inside China.

Therefore Occam's razor applies, bad data was posted online (1 assumption), or real number was accidentally posted AND the number outside of China is either incorrect in many countries or it is a statistical abnormality (more than 1 assumption).

The real numbers are secret. Also, corona was going on much earlier than admitted claiming many victims the government kept secret.  The only started to communicate when there was no way to hide it longer. And they communicate still much less deaths than actually happened. Entire parts of Wuhan died out.

You remember doctor Li, who alarmed the public beginning of December and got therefore arrested and had to sign that he was spreading false information online.

Now that guy died of Corona and will be a hero for many.

You are generally safe to assume that Chinese state controlled media always lies to the people, wechat is part of it, Tencent is close to the government and fully cooperates with them, also in censoring messages and denouncing critical users to the government.

BTW, Thai people were held in China who have witnessed the situation in Wuhan. For health reasons they were not allowed to return home. After US and Japan took their citizens home, Tailand was initially not allowed to get back their citizens. Finally just recently they were released by China. But they had to surrender all their cell phones. Why? To check for virus they say. They will delete all videos taken in Wuhan...

This is very Chinese...to hide their dirty secrets at whatever cost. Same is goi g on in Xinjiang Province where Chinese plan to reeducate the entire Muslim population within 10 years. They imprison about 10% per year which is more than a million people. They hold them and brainwash them. Children were forcibly taken away from their parents and are forced to grow up in compounds where they get communist education and learn to love XiJinPing. Around 10% of these detainees disappear forever, around 90% percent get eventually , after years, released after they have learned to love the communist party.

What is going on in Xinjiang can be compared with Nazi Germany.

A regime that can do such things on that large scale for years, that regime can also keep secret the real death toll of Corona. Just multiply all state given numbers by 1000...

So what wechat claims, are big numbers but given the true scale they are probably still nice to see figures and state propaganda.

    The Philippines, and Malaysia,

The female immigration officers are so smiley and chatty, I've almost got to the point of giving them my phone number for a meetup after work. One lady at KUL even went so far as suggest it was a pity I was just passing through the airport (90 days waiver) and should spend some more time in the country. At Manila the lady immigration officer asked if I liked the Philippines (yes) and should think about spending more time there and less time in Thailand.

I could have definitely got a date with the Filipino.

true. and now compare that to Thai immigration....

Thailand has never treated Westerners poorly. That is just so ridiculous. Frankly, I’m treated like royalty here. I realize that everyone’s situation is different but I’ve never once been treated poorly while living in Thailand.

Tourism is exploding where I live in Phuket. I’ve never seen so many tourists. That said, we have only have white people and mostly families in this part of Phuket. I’ve never once seen a Chinese or Indian person here. 90% beautiful Russian women that look like super models ( and many actually are ).

If tourism is so terrible, why is it impossible to get a reservation for Valentines Day at any of the top restaurants in Bangkok and Phuket? Even the Waldorf Astoria has a 400 person waitlist. Yeah, business is so slow!

in what parallel universe are you living? go to Pattaya and you will rethink your words...

  15. Not sure what this nonsense is about! The traffic fatalitiesare horrifying but have nothing to do with a pandemic virus infecting thousands. Virus death are in addition to traffic deaths and you should worry about every case.

But there are indeed similarities. Namely how the officials are responding is similar. In both cases they do nothing adequate to fix the issues. Complete incompetence and a stupid mentalityof not admitting errors, not learn from them, and actually never correct them.

    That's truly Thai.

If there was an office within a few km of our house, it wouldn't bother me so much, but it's about a 3 hour round trip for me. Hence haven't taken any trips at all since this <deleted> started, just not worth the hassle. Probably saved me a fortune on hotels, restaurants and entertainment, so not too bothered.

Only for ur information: There is a website you can file TM30 online. I am doing it all the time. Some things are unfortunately not in English (Thais are sooo unbelievably clever to not translate some dropdown menus) but with a little help u can manage it (get the girl for long time and ask her to translate after she has done her job) take screenshots and the next time you know already how to do https://extranet.immigration.go.th

You need to register with your condo address and building number first, then you log in every time you need a TM30 registration.

The registration form is made by unprofessional idiots who just discover computer and internet, but if you invest some time , you learn how to use it. It works well and is the same website for all the provinces.
