Yesterday Phuket International Airport had no any fever scans in place. Erven worse, the immigration takes fingerprints from everyone passing thru, everyone touches the same fingerprint reader with no any hand disinfectant provided!!! A great opportunity to spread the virus to everyone. Phuket is frequented by Chinese groups coming for Chinese new year. No any precautions taken?? That is just criminal neglection of duties! How stupid are Thai authorities really?? They don't act to not cause harm to their f*kin tourism industry. Just incredible this ignorance!!

I take that to mean Big Joke knows about some very dirty deeds and is being told to keep his trap shut about all of it. One wonders how far up the ladder the dirty trail leads?
Big Joke was warned by shots into his car door. There is definitely something going on in the background. He will be killed soon...

I saw air quality report on western television, Bangkok was 4 while 5 is the worst possible.
What are those morons trying to tell us? It seems they lie every day to please the people and to avoid having to do something about it. Lessons learned from Trump??

Make life more attractive for long staying people
Why is there still no real retirement visa and residence permit for those who have given up their lives in their home countries to settle down in Thailand. It is almost unbelievable that Thais let these people stay only on one-year-to-one-year permits while rules are all the time changing. Settle down in Thailand is risky and no possibility to plan the rest of your life. Do you wang to have to leave your new home with 75 just because a moron has changed the immigration rules over night ??
They don't get that expats need security to be able to plan. And they don't get that expats bring money into Thailand and advertise for this country for free if they are treated well.

Obviously 30+ million tourists think differently to one Australian !!!
are experts counted too? as they all have no residence permit just a one year visa, wouldn't surprise me if they are in the blabla million new arrivals, even multiple times.

"If the government and private sector don’t work together, they’ll lose out to competition."
The problem is that the government sets the tone for price gouging by over charging tourists at parks and tourist attractions...
The government needs a new attitude...give perks to tourists...not abuse.
..
it needs a new and competent government.

They are lazy and not at all interested in you as a foreigner. They don'tont even want to be able to communicate with you. That is actually a form of disrespect.

Thailand is tourism hotspot since 30 years. They heavily depend on tourism and foreign investment. Enire Pattaya has been built by foreigners.
On the other hand I don't know any other nation so unwilling to open up and show some interest towards foreigners.
Endless Thai arrogance and unwillingness to learn anything what is not Thai including tools of communication, makes Thailand truly unique on this planet.
If your English is sh*t then start improving it instead of be proud of the status quo!
Most foreigners are no Englishmen too, they all have learned to speak English. Why is a f*cking restaurant owner not willing to improve his?
I other countries, like China, locals use every opportunityto learn from foreigners whenever they meet them !!
To all those foreigner hating Thais: look where China is and look where your country is... ist all about mentality. I am proud to not be a Thai!

If he is proven innocent he will be released. That's what they say. Disturbing a bit... Thai democracy and rule of law...

3 months ? Covering what area ? Take 3 years
definitely not just three months. a year at least. why? because the allocated money will vanish half way and then they will wait with open road for the next years budget... Let's see if the red light mafia will agree to loose income...

I hope Thais understand that not all farangs behave like him and not all farangs behave like this British man. Otherwise living in Thailand will become even more difficult for the rest of the western people as understandably Thais can be quite upset of these type of incidents.
It very easily could have been vice versa too. Now it was the Brit who reacted aggressively.

well..............if you had read it you would see the article says. "if he resists"
rubbish. they are out to kill. they will kill if they think they have the target. and guess what, he resisted why tried to arrest him.

Are there no rules by law when shoot to kill is allowed in Thailand ? Like the eminent danger to save own or other`s life? How can police be ordered to go out to the streets in order to shoot and kill ? This is Thai democracy ? Welcome to a country with no laws...
And what is that "special police task force"? Assassins?

High savings and lower investment ? Yes of course. Who wants to put money into a corrupt and entirely unpredictable system? Long term investors turn to other countries. It wont get better until they start changing the way of doing govenment business,no more stupid ideas to mess up all but long term policies to create reliability. And rule of law instead of rule of officers.

The cars, buses and songtaews generally aren't the danger here. It's the 2-wheelers blowing down the gaps between stopped vehicles that need special ed.
They too are dangerous. True.

was big joke as competent as his name implies?

probably a stupid Chinese 2 nights tourist from Ctrip cooked something in that condo.... In our building Chinese "hotel" guests have set off fire alarm many times....
-
Car and motorbike are probably overtaking the taxi, at the same time (otherwise the red car should have been behind the taxi and not next to it).
The bus has a parking car in front and goes more to the middle. Bus, car and motorbike are aiming for the very space!
And all 3 are to stubborn to give up and brake!
-The bus should have stayed within its lane waiting behind the parked car if there isn't enough space! You have an obstacle in your way, you f*cking wait and you don´t cross the line! Hard for Thais, to be forced to brake and stop is probably a matter of loose face or so...
-The car should not have stayed next to the motorbike overtaking at the same time but let the bike overtake first while waiting behind him!
Happens because Thais are stubborn and have no awareness of dangers, lack of experience, lack of knowledge and disregard of rules.
In the second part you even see a bike rider reacting too slow and crashing into the car, also another car.
Well done, like in a movie...

Not surprised at all. Aggressive people (not just reckless) with horrible driving skills in combination with akcohol or other drugs. What do you expect?
1.Suspend all driver's licenses until everyone has visited a real multi-week school and has passed a real test, just like in other countries too. A car is a car and not a boat!
2.Force people to strictly follow traffic rules (a good source of income for police). A solid line is a solid line. Wrong direction is wrong direction. Make them pay.
3. Much more speed checks needed.
I have never seen any in Pattaya. They go full speed on Sukhumvit and many times even on smaller streets. Buy laser guns and set up mobile checkpoints.
The problem is, police is going the easy way to collect money by ripping off people who did nothing wrong instead of doing real checks at dangerous places.

These BS actions show how desperate they are to prove that every thing is ok while tourism is collapsing due to their own failures.
Almost every week we hear official tourism numbers. As if they want to calm down the people to avoid an uprising.

Still extortion as they wanted 8000$ for quick release, it just happened that thai gf nicked it.
As well if no drugs were found on him on street, why he was taken to police station? Should refuse if no crime commited, thats false arrest.
agree

Thais don't understand foreigners at all. Generally not. How can they assume they can predict foreigners who did not even arrive? But I am sure, end of January they will have great results, an increase of one trillion percent. Good Luck!

I don't see the link between him and the murder in Khon Keng. Has that actually been proven? He was travelling with a knife. Bad but before everyone shouts, did he actually kill that girl?

Public anger grows over coronavirus in Thailand, with eight cases of the illness
in Thailand News

"There have been no cases of human-to-human transmission in Thailand."
What a bulls*It to say this. How does this piece of human incompetence know that none of the 8 people have infected others in Thailand? There is by the way an incubation time. New cases can appear even after some were sent home.
This government is just incredibly incompetent with every day issues, and much more with emergency management. If the buffalo with sunglasses appoints his other guys based of favour and corruption instead of based on qualification the country enters a free fall in a case of emergency. We are falling already.
