When will Thais learn in a fckn school in classes in many hours of lessons how to drive? The whole country needs to be educated in real driving schools. Not just show a grabage video of accidents. How incompetent are those in charge? Nothing will improve until rules are not tought in schools with real examination and massive enforcement by not corrupt police. Shame in you Thailand for so many failures. A fifth world country.

Already my uk owes £30,000 in debt for every person in the UK due to borrowing for this political mess - and it's going up. There is a rule, you provide a trustworthy environment with wellworking protective laws and you get foreign investments. Or you only get short term high risk and high revenue investments from those who make quick money and run into safety.

Thais seem to not understand that foreigner's money doesen't come alone but only as a package WITH the foreigner together. And it is not free. The need to give a value in exchange for our money.

It looks like Thais suggest many new ideas how to get foreign money but just seem to not undersand that they need to give something in return, all the time same pointless offers that don't substantially improve anything for foreigners... Maybe they should stop thinking that they can outsmart us and that we are THAT much stupid like they were permanently told in their schools and in the media.

Let every farang sign a form in front of the immigration that he abandones to be dirty and promis to shower 2 times per day while in Thailand.

You want long stayers? You had them for decades. Yet you still failed to do any special program for retirees. One year visas only? 90days reportings? Lots of addotional obstacles? No any friendly but all hostile rules that make life in Thailand more and more difficult instead of easy.

Old people are a source of income too. They need care givers, health service suppliers and they are consumers. Why no any such program still ? Yes I know why: Thais feel bad to have to give service and care to lower races, such as farangs.

Could you imagine for the elderly nice homes near beautiful beaches, clean and safe, friendly Thais who care? However, caregiver and nurse are jobs for Filipinos, probably not for Thais.

Another naive and ridicilous idea. As much as Thailand discourages foreigners from staying in the country, working visa issues, many limitations, many conditions, a Thai society that dislikes foreigners, a political leadership that makes xenophobic public statements, ever changing rules, who do they expect to come?

All suggestions show how Thais believe foreigners to be. It says much about Thais themselves! They do not actually know anything about likes and needs of foreigners because they never cared about. But they think they know! They still believe their country is wonderful and all rich foreigners line up to come and get elite visas and golf club memberships.

Thais live obivously still on a different planet.Even the leaders.

20 years visa can get cancelled any time if they end the program. Does anyone trust and believe in Thai government's consistency ?

It always needs to happen something big before these Thai idiots of ministers actually do something. It seems they only react instead of planning into the future. As long as they are not paying the price for their negligence nothing will improve.

I hope the media like CNN and BBC and others, who have to be informed, will add some critical background reporting about how this arrangement happened while he was imprisonned and probably forced. And the ownership of the hotel that seems to belong to some powerful Thai could also be investigated just to make the story round...

The other thing is, if you go that far you need to plan your exit in advance. Bending over backwards is not a good exit strategy. But I can't judge him while not being in his shoes right now.
