Best Song of Past 100 Years? Your Vote?
Carlos for sure. Saw him in San Antonio in the early 90's. Eddie was okay but somewhat limited. Hendrix gets a lot of credit but his work can be done by most good guitarists. Some were innovators and get a lot of credit. Knopfler was good in Dire Straits, and only got better.

Best Song of Past 100 Years? Your Vote?
I saw him in a small bar in Austin Texas, 10 feet away. He played without missing a note all of his earlier songs. I've seen most of the best guitarists or have listened to them for 50 years, and only Mark Knopfler is as good to me. Those others are right up there so it's hard to choose, along with Jeff Beck, Warren Haynes, Jorma Kaukonen, Michael Schenker, Brian May, Steve Hackett and Neil Schon.

Joe can play, and has, any of their music as well or better, and they are indeed good guitarists.

What's best to a lot of people might be crapola in actuality. many people don't understand what good music is, and go along with the crowds that like dance music. Nothing wrong with enjoying any music that doesn't degrade others, but it doesn't mean you know what good music is. Donna Summer had a good voice. I wasn't into her music besides a couple of songs, but R&B is a favorite of mine, especially older R&B.

Why do some Farang worry so much about Thailand being too =hot=?
Why live in a hot place if most of the time you stay indoors? I came from, and am going back to Texas, where it's actually hotter there on average than here, even though we get freezing temps and some snow in south Texas. Here, the humidity is too much at times, like living in Houston, and the rainy season has you staying indoors much of the time, which gets very boring. The best choice is to live where you can enjoy your hobbies, the season changes, and do what you want to do safely and with freedom.

Best Song of Past 100 Years? Your Vote?
I'm posting a very good song, recent, that most might never hear. One of the best guitar players alive or otherwise, and good lyrics. I don't consider any song the best, but this recent one shows what's still being made............ .

Best Song of Past 100 Years? Your Vote?
One fact that will always stand is that how many people like a certain song means little of how good it is. A lot of people like to dance, and the beat means more than anything else. Look at Disco. Soulless pap for the most part but some of the best music to dance to because of that beat. The same with most pop music now. It attracts for the most part pre-teens and teens. They like the shows they put on, but it doesn't come near matching the musicianship of most progressive rock bands. There are many excellent bands worldwide that most will never hear because of the money involved, and the shows.

Actually all good music is timeless. Good music meaning good lyrics and musicianship. People actually playing instruments. I lived through the best times music will ever know, those 50's through the 80's, and also some very good from the 80's to now is still being made.

Good music is timeless, which much music isn't. There are still bands bringing good music out these days, although it's hard to beat the music us old timers grew up with from the 50's to the 80's. Yes, there is no such thing as a best song. There are quite a few that will be at the top, and much of what one sees on music charts these days doesn't cut it. I could name hundreds of songs that are up at the top, although some might not be that into music to know them. Only a couple mentioned here fill that bill.

Kath was a very good rock guitarist. Too bad he left us so young. Knopfler is about the best all round I've ever seen, along with Bonamassa as far as emotional playing. Check out Knopfler's solo work.

Frampton is an okay guitarist but Gilmour is more talented. Someone above them is Mark Knopfler.

Gun permit, licens
What do they have to defend themselves? There are guns in every country, legal or not, and in the ones where you can't own them, others still have them illegally.
-
Gun permit, licens
Intentional homicide rate is higher here, as is the murder rate., and it will keep rising. School shootings don't happen much here, but they exist.

Gun permit, licens
It's already there.

Zebra crossing drama: Pickup truck hits student outside school - video
No, and if you'll notice, there are many school buses, overcrowded, with up to 12 kids sitting on the TOP of the bus. If they cared, this wouldn't happen. Schools start and stop at certain times, and there are plenty of policemen in this country to take 30 minutes twice a day to monitor school crossings so the children are safely across. Enforcing laws , including speeding and using a phone in school areas, saves lives every year in the US. I do see some police at certain schools watching crossings, so it does happen, but it should be everywhere. Spending more money protecting their children instead of on military equipment they don't need is a start.
