  1. I couldn't open that for some reason but have this one bookmarked for a soon purchase..............https://www.lazada.co.th/products/bialetti-moka-pot-moka-express-silver-3-cups-3-bl-0001162-i1571002499-s18556229410.html?c=&channelLpJumpArgs=&clickTrackInfo=query%3Abialetti%252520moka%252520pot%252520%3Bnid%3A1571002499%3Bsrc%3ALazadaMainSrp%3Brn%3A274269b2aff3ba173537b9742723448c%3Bregion%3Ath%3Bsku%3A1571002499_TH%3Bprice%3A1572%3Bclient%3Adesktop%3Bsupplier_id%3A100186131022%3Bbiz_source%3Ah5_internal%3Bslot%3A2%3Butlog_bucket_id%3A470687%3Basc_category_id%3A11989%3Bitem_id%3A1571002499%3Bsku_id%3A18556229410%3Bshop_id%3A1731126%3BtemplateInfo%3A107882_A3_C_E%231104_L%23&clusterType=nonSpu&freeshipping=1&fs_ab=2&fuse_fs=&lang=en&location=Bangkok&price=1572&priceCompare=skuId%3A18556229410%3Bsource%3Alazada-search-voucher%3Bsn%3A274269b2aff3ba173537b9742723448c%3BoriginPrice%3A157200%3BdisplayPrice%3A157200%3BsinglePromotionId%3A-1%3BsingleToolCode%3AmockedSalePrice%3BvoucherPricePlugin%3A0%3Btimestamp%3A1742455084397&ratingscore=4.943396226415095&request_id=274269b2aff3ba173537b9742723448c&review=689&sale=2132&search=1&source=search&spm=a2o4m.searchList.list.2&stock=1
  2. Just found this one on Lazada, seems like all I'd need...........https://www.lazada.co.th/products/simplus-coffee-grinder-i5064885770-s21396834999.html?c=&channelLpJumpArgs=&clickTrackInfo=query%3Acoffee%252520grinder%3Bnid%3A5064885770%3Bsrc%3ALazadaMainSrp%3Brn%3A740c5f5b205858ef015f61f8e30231c0%3Bregion%3Ath%3Bsku%3A5064885770_TH%3Bprice%3A299%3Bclient%3Adesktop%3Bsupplier_id%3A100191294313%3Bbiz_source%3Ahttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.lazada.co.th%2F%3Bslot%3A0%3Butlog_bucket_id%3A470687%3Basc_category_id%3A5658%3Bitem_id%3A5064885770%3Bsku_id%3A21396834999%3Bshop_id%3A2173372%3BtemplateInfo%3A107882_D_E%231104_L%23-1_A3_C%23&freeshipping=1&fs_ab=2&fuse_fs=&lang=en&location=Samut Prakan&price=299&priceCompare=skuId%3A21396834999%3Bsource%3Alazada-search-voucher%3Bsn%3A740c5f5b205858ef015f61f8e30231c0%3BoriginPrice%3A29900%3BdisplayPrice%3A29900%3BsinglePromotionId%3A-1%3BsingleToolCode%3AmockedSalePrice%3BvoucherPricePlugin%3A0%3Btimestamp%3A1742540576710&ratingscore=4.957820738137083&request_id=740c5f5b205858ef015f61f8e30231c0&review=569&sale=1228&search=1&source=search&spm=a2o4m.searchList.list.0&stock=1
  3. That's why I thought it would be a good starting point for making my own coffee, besides the Phin cup I brought back from Vietnam. When I move back to Texas, I can get involved more with a machine that does everything as the science of coffee making is very interesting and only you can fully know what coffees give you satisfaction, through experimenting.
  4. I'm sure we both see you for what you really are. Again, assuming is a teenage response. You know nothing about anyone on this forum. Everyone has a life, and I'm sure mine is much more interesting than yours, seeing I do have many hobbies that are all interesting and thought provoking, entertaining and productive. If you would read all of my posts and replies, you would see I'm here to help and have discussions on various topics. I just dislike those who think their <deleted> doesn't stink, are better than others, who brag about money they either have or lie about having, narcissists that only argue to feed their low self esteem and people who are prejudiced against a particular religion, nationality or lifestyle because their parents taught them that way.
  5. Kopi Luwak was 200,000 Dong in Vietnam at the shops I visited, on the bag, but I'm sure it was price per cup. I'm still not positive about drinking coffee pooped out by Civets. I see it costs a lot more in the west because of import prices.
  6. Just tried it first time, and made a good cup, iced, using Ca Phe Moc Rang Xay Nguyen Chat, with 55% Robusta, 10% Arabica, 30% Culi and 5% Bo.
  7. I never asked him what he used besides knowing about the sunglasses, so I'm guessing he tried a few until he found a pair he could see well with and that cut down the glare from the lights. I have hunting glasses which allow you to see better in low light that would have worked well with him.
  8. Yep, need a grinder at the least so I can buy fresh beans and not just fresh ground sent to me. Thought about Sumatra for quite awhile, and Jamaican. The shops in Vietnam have beans from all over, including Kopi Luwak and Weasel. I really should have bought more, and a grinder, but didn't think of it until I returned.
  9. The boy at Tony's Coffee in Hanoi ran after me when I left the store and handed me one of them for free.
  10. Patience? Might want to look at the daily news and research crimes in Thailand. You'd see patience isn't on a lot of minds when they stab others over minor offenses, chase one down the street armed with sticks and machetes, one against 5, and cut others off all day long in vehicles.
  11. No, by force, and that force met with resistance from many nations who didn't want to be ruled by another. America, France, Russia, Afghanistan, Africa, Japanese and Germans to mention some. They didn't know how to colonize properly after taking control.
  12. Smiling can be used for many things, but most of them are for profit of some sort. That locals smile a lot has been noticed but as others have said, no one knows what's behind those smiles, It could be acceptance, hatred, envy, jealousy, or just being nice and smiling because a smile has others following suit. When someone wants something from you or has intentions to secretly hurt you, they aren't going to look at you with disgust or evil in their eyes. Ted Bundy smiled at every woman he met before he killed them is but one example.
  13. I'm neither lonely or poor. I've raised 5 children and still raising another. You may have missed what I wrote about my hobbies,a skimmers actions, which use up a lot of my time. I don't look for any arguments, but again, dislike others who lump all of one type of people into one category, a negative one, and think they actually know more than a few people who act like you stated earlier. This is what you do many times, and it actually sounds like you aren't a foreigner, because no one trashes their own kind unless they have some sort of problem with them.
  14. Explain what you're talking about then. I'm not a drunkard who starts trouble with anyone, let alone here. Everyone who's alive has a life, as that's a typical teenage response from those who aren't aware of how stupid that remark is. I have many hobbies, hunting, fishing, gym, music, movies, travel and doing things with my family, so I'm guessing another hobby would be quite much. You can send me money if you'd like, as I wouldn't refuse a donation from someone who thinks they're above others while actually being beneath them. I annoy you because you are always downgrading foreigners, and I stick up for them, as we are the minority here and need others we can relate to. You disagree with me because you either don't understand what I'm saying, or are too full of yourself and actually think you're better than other foreigners here. You aren't. Like I suggested. if you need to talk bad about foreigners here, join another forum, as your comments are usually met with disdain, others seeing you as someone who dislikes foreigners for whatever reason you invented, and prefer sticking up for locals, even if they are acting wrong. You're not alone, as there are a few others here who also are brown nosers.
  15. He has a wife so that term doesn't match why he's here.
  16. He passed a few years ago but it was maybe back in the early 2000's when he had his surgery. I think he did wear light sunglasses if I remember him correctly, as the lights were like you mentioned.
  17. Does every one of your posts have to be ones deriding foreigners? I'll ask this question again. How many foreigners do you actually know here and how many act this way, seeing you think it's just your "typical" foreigner? One of the worst things about Thailand, and any other country for that matter, is those who talk bad about people in general, lumping all of them into one category instead of seeing all of them as individuals. Brown nosing isn't going to get you any followers, as those you stick up for look at you the same as they do other foreigners. You're an outsider no matter how long you live here to many locals. If you hate other foreigners so much why visit this forum? I'm sure there are other Thai forums you could join to complain about foreigners there, although they might look at you as a weirdo.
  18. I heard they are okay but need to be cleaned asap and that's the maintenance they need. Just wanted to get a start making coffee and would get the fancier model when I move back home.
  19. My eye doctor back in Texas said the same thing. I never imagined I could see 20/20 after wearing glasses, contacts since age 7. One eye has one forming so he said whenever I move back there he would schedule the surgery for me. My mom had perfect vision all her life until her 60's and had surgery for cataracts and her eyesight went back to perfect besides reading. My brother had his done and complained about night vision being a problem with bright lights, so I'm guessing the surgeon could have done a better job?
  20. Not a new coffee drinker but never really got into the serious part of making it until recently. I've only drank coffee the last 9 years or so, deciding the health benefits far outweighed the negative, and had a Keurig back when I lived in Texas, along with going to Starbucks, Dutch Brothers and a myriad of other coffee shops in Texas while I lived there. Just recently came back from Vietnam, finally trying their brands and thinking they're the best I've had so far. I brought back some fresh ground and had it today, but don't have a coffee maker yet so looking to purchase a Moka Pot soon. When I move back to Texas I'll get the whole arsenal of coffee making items but for now want to use the Moka as I hear it makes a good rich cup fast. I'd like to hear what others say about it. I've seen some comments from some serious drinkers here and it more strengthens my desire to get more involved in the coffee sciences.
  21. Might try putting the money towards more mental health services, as people will find many other ways to end their lives if depression has taken hold. Million of people suffer from depression in this country alone, and many don't understand there are ways to help. What they did was about as much sense as the wall in the US to try and stop immigrants from coming in. There are countless buildings in Thailand with low rails which people "fall" off every month, so this isn't the answer. Like another said, they will just find another place. Recognizing the signs of depression and trying to help them is the first thing. Whether they take your advice to seek help or not is their decision.
  22. Most offenses of the law here aren't punished at all, and only some by a small fine. The amount of traffic deaths daily shows this, meaning the lack of enforcement. This is what should have happened if he was a repeat offender, which the story doesn't show but the police might have known. If it was a first offense, overnight in jail followed by a fine would be in order, along with a class on drunk driving, which they might not have here like in the states. . Confiscation of his motorbike would follow repeated offenses also. Driving against traffic is a dangerous thing to do, but riding 5 on a scooter, all without helmets, is also dangerous, yet happens daily all over the country.
  23. As the US saw for 911, knowing who's crazy and who only wants to live in peace isn't easy to differentiate unless they are known extremists.
  24. Nothing wrong with practicing any religion as long as it isn't used as a crutch for terrorism.Nothing wrong with other nationalities living in other countries as long as they abide by the rules.
  25. If that happened, everyone would have to leave the US, or is the US just a one religion country, and what would that be, as well as all others that have all religions?
