  1. I don't think he inferred it was an actual law but how things are here, which is pretty much right on.
  2. You have to be a dog or cat owner to see more of how they use their paws.
  3. Lions can climb but aren't known as climbers like other cats are. Females do most of the killing, although the male eats first. Where lions exist there are much less trees and their prey doesn't use them besides monkeys. Tigers are forest cats and will climb more but most of their prey is also ground dwelling. Lions will climb to escape danger.
  4. They do well because they have paws, which they use as we do hands in many ways. I'm sure you knew this.
  5. Lions usually don't climb trees, although they can, but lie up in the shade of trees on the ground. leopards will lie in trees. Tigers prefer overhangs to lie under and also under trees. Leopards will climb trees with their prey to keep it away from other animals, especially vultures and other meat eaters, but it is sometimes stolen by other cats or bears, so they usually lie close until they are done feeding on it.
  6. Tigers ,lions, leopards, hippos, elephants, etc are all wild animals, although they can be tamed to an extent. Deer have been raised as pets and killed their "owners". The cat family usually won't attack humans unless they have been harassed or wounded. Some, many in fact, have because they were old and couldn't catch their normal prey anymore. The problem is that they are capable of damage very fast. Just like regular cats that are pets, they can scratch and bite but usually don't cause too much damage besides the possibility of cat scratch fever. With large cats, they can damage a human very fast with just a scratch or bite. Anyone entering a cat enclosure needs to have protection with him. This person didn't and paid.
  7. Yes, but a zoo isn't a normal habitat so that would make them act differently than in the wild. Most predators prefer night hunting because there is less stealth needed than daytime, and they do usually lie up during the day to rest and digest their food.
  8. Lions and tigers also hunt during the day. All depends on the situations. They are usually nocturnal hunters but are also opportunists. Lions and other cat species do not belong in caged areas, but some people will never learn.
  9. A bull shark is born at 2-3 ft and bulls look like a few other sharks especially as juveniles. Sharks bite even from birth. She obviously didn't know how dangerous this shark was, even if she knew it was a bull, as they are the most dangerous of all shark species.
  10. There are usually reasons a wife refuses sex from her husband. If she isn't being treated as a partner and just an object for him to get off in, any normal woman would be hesitant to want to have sex with her husband. If a man just wants to have sex and doesn't look at his wife as a partner, don't get married and buy hookers. Forcing yourself on any woman, including a wife, is rape and should be prosecuted. If a man treats his wife with respect, love and kindness, and also provides for her, a woman would be happy to share herself with her man, even if she's not in the mood. Letting animals like this get off shows how much a country's justice system fails to protect women. A man doesn't need to have sex. It's a want, a desire. A country that also permits having more than one wife is also behind in it's thinking. This also shows how little a man cares for his partner, feeling the need to have more than one. What if the wife wanted to have more than one husband? Think he would be okay with that? It appears that she might have died because of forced sex, which is a crime in a normal country. Tigers kill an average of one person a week in India. Too bad it's not the one's who deserve it most.
  11. You're confusing him with gg.
  12. You should know, as you're taking over the lead for most assumptions made on AN.
  13. Evidence of what? Are you that much of a dolt that you can't understand you don't know anyone on earth at all unless you actually spend a lot of time with them? You keep missing the point that what you've said about why accidents happen most everyone already knows including myself. Are you that dense that you can't fathom what you've read about others also can? There are countless books and articles that have been written about driver safety, and people like myself and others from western countries have learned it as teenagers. Where are you from? I'm thinking maybe here, as you seem not to know about what's learned in western countries.
  14. I can say exactly the same thing about you. Stop assuming what others know or don't know. It's a teenage approach and doesn't work with adults. I didn't mean attitudes won't change. It might happen but things are ingrained in cultures and they are hard to change. I have a lot more "grasp" of the topic than you'll ever know. I came from America, where the testing, classes and education on driving is much harder than it is here. That is something you don't understand. although you talk about doing this for over 20 years. I'm 68, so I've been learning about roads and drivers for over 51 years, by classes, tests and observation, something you dismiss although it's how data ans stats come about. What I "probably" don't know is again passing you by. Do you actually think I have to go to a conference to understand why accidents happen? Are you that dense that you can't see there is research available and people have learned throughout their lives about this? Problems that are ingrained are "fixable". It can happen, IF they want it to happen. These accidents have been going on for decades, with the same BS heard about fixing them coming from those in charge, yet nothing happens. of course changes can be made, IF they want them to be made. The poor here are looked at as lower than the rich, and the rich get priority in everything. Same everywhere but more so in a poor nation. IF the people push their leaders for change it can happen, but being suppressed and controlled makes things harder. It isn't a bizarre rant saying locals here look at women as inferior. It's the Buddhist culture itself that does this. I've been thinking all along, you're either a Thai yourself and feel the need to back locals up, which I can understand to a point, because backing others who are doing wrong is like following Hitler. or you're slowly climbing to the top of the brown noser list here on AN. Assuming someone obviously a lot more intelligent than you is stupid, IS stupid. People that assume are close minded, which means they are hesitant to change.
  15. I'm a very huge film and music buff, and I have to say you're wrong about this. American and other western music has a huge influence on Thais, and they copy pop music all the time. You can see it in the music you hear here although much of it doesn't flow smoothly like western music and lyrics does. They copy everything westerners do, as it's new to them and they like it, seeing western music is the best music worldwide. The guitar players use western tabs to learn how to play and if you listen to Thai music, a lot of the leads and rhythm playing mirrors western style. As far as movies, Mono 29, channel 24, 18 and a couple of others always have western movies on, with some having them in English per the remote, with Thai subtitles. I've been watching them almost 7 years here and my ex and girlfriend has before I came here. The only problem they have is playing the same actor's movies all the time. What is true is how little they learn here about western history. It pales by comparison to the west and leaves them not knowing the basics of what happened in history. I've had my girlfriend over to watch movies (she speaks good English) and most of what we watched she knew very little about, such as Hitler and the war, Japan and the war, Kanchanaburi and it's role in the war, and many other things about history. They watch action movies here in theaters and at home, so they know a lot about them from that.
  16. Before you reply, try making them make sense.
  17. No, I know I understand, you think I don't, a very stupid assumption seeing you don't know me at all.
  18. Assumption # 3,876 How do you know he doesn't know how it's done in other countries? For a person who used to gauge language levels you certainly spell many things wrong. Don't think for other people. Try thinking correctly for yourself and don\t assume what others know. You do this all the time and it gets annoying. In how many countries have you studied how they learn English? I taught here, and am a native English speaker and the testing here, as well as the teaching, is very poor in every school I visited, including where my daughter goes, which has almost no English taught. My daughter speaks better English than her teacher. It's very easy to read English yet not know what the words mean. The teachers pass out English work, meaning copying the sentences, and the children don't know what the words mean. I saw this also in my girlfriend's niece's work she brought home. She could read the words but didn't know what the words meant. Thailand is this far behind because those in charge don't care . And just so you understand, the man I helped out, and English school owner, was taught in America and hires English teachers from all over to teach at his school. I helped him FOC because he's a friend. He also says Thai schools are very poor in teaching English to their students, and he's been to hundreds all over Thailand, teaching, seminars and camps.
  19. You've said many times we don't understand. What you keep missing is that we do understand. You assume what others know. This is a very ignorant statement you continuously make. You do not know what anyone on earth knows or doesn't know. That's called assuming. YOU are also a part of the general public. You assume others don't know what you do, although anyone alive can do the same research. How old are you anyway? No changes have happened because of the local attitudes. This again is what you miss, and obviously don't understand. If you left your house, wherever that may be, and get out and observe what's actually going on, then you might understand accidents happen for many reasons, and the driver is first at fault, no matter what. You can have better roads, more police enforcement, better training, harder tests and everything else but the cultural factor and attitudes will not change because things here are ingrained. Just how women here are looked at as inferior, some things may never change............. as·sump·tion /əˈsəm(p)SH(ə)n/ noun noun: assumption; plural noun: assumptions; noun: Assumption 1. a thing that is accepted as true or as certain to happen, without proof. "they made certain assumptions about the market"
  20. They've been coming in daily all along. Biden wanted families to be together. Illegals were still being stopped every day, all day long. There's just so many people that are trying to get into countries, and it fluctuates. It's not a set amount that comes in daily, every day, year after year.
  21. Why would you laugh about others lives if you aren't involved in them? Millions of Americans are happy where they are, and I will be also when I move back. Being under control here isn't pleasant, and some things are downright dangerous, especially for girls and women. If you don't live in the US, you have very little idea what living there is like. News doesn't show but a fraction of what goes on there, just as it does here. Many here seem to think everything is shown on the news stations daily, but again, it's just a fraction of what goes on. Just like reading this topic. This makes people think there's a huge drop in illegals coming in just because it's lower for the month so far. It will never stop. People like the US, and those that live in countries where there's poverty and strife, look to going there just to see if they can make money, knowing full well there's a huge chance they'll be sent back asap. They hear about friends and family who have gotten work there, so they give it a try. Some countries are very hard to survive in, especially if you have a family to support.
  22. No, you need to keep it under control, as there are ways to get a legal work permit. Some like to circumvent that, just like here, but it has to be done legally. If the Americans that hire these illegals were fined harsher, it would help, and would cut down on the amount coming in. Then they would have to hire those there legally, or citizens.
  23. There will always be illegals coming in to most countries, to escape poverty and for asylum. They will come because there will always be people that will hire them illegally, to save money. It might go down for a month but it always fluctuates. there isn't a set amount of people that are "supposed" to come in. It just happens. You catch them, deport them, and they come back when they get more money to pay the coyotes.
  24. It's actually you that's looking the fool, and sadly, you'll never understand why. There are things in life that make a person a human. The way they treat others is the most important one. When you study psychology, as many do, you get to understand why people do what they do. It's from ingrained habits taught from childhood. An example would be a man who cheats on or abuse his wife or girlfriend. Usually he saw this in his own father while he was young. If he didn't have a father, that means his role model could have been peers who did the same things, which he thought was normal. People become dictators because they were either abused, neglected or both in childhood, and violence and control is all they know, so they use this inbred narcissism against everyone else they come across, as it's a way to vent their anger from their childhood onto others. A way of revenge, although it isn't used on the original perpetrator but innocents, which is wrong. But they don't know any better, because their mindset is of a toddler who needs to get their own way, to control, because all they know was control . Others become politicians, because power is the big controller. When they get their way, they strengthen that feeling of superiority, although they are actually little boys with a low self esteem. I don't judge others. They show what they really are by their actions. No one is any better than anyone else in this world, no matter how much they have, own or how much power they have. Some are just better persons than others, shown by their actions and ability to help others. Assuming never works. It only shows close mindedness. There's a huge difference between defending yourself or others, and putting people down just because it makes you feel better about yourself.
  25. You, like others, assume you know the full story or anything about anyone on earth, without truly knowing them. That's a problem. Sarcasm is fine unless it's there to think you're somehow superior to others. Everyone can laugh at themselves at times, and along with others, but some use sarcasm to hurt others, and think they're better because someone makes a mistake, which all humans do. Using emojis also is a way of belittling in a subtle way. Joking around is necessary. Doing things to think you're superior to them isn't. When you reach perfection, then you can downgrade others, but if that ever happened, which it won't, a person with intelligence doesn't need to hurt others but to help with his superior knowledge. And don't tell me to lighten up, because I've heard this kind of sarcasm all my life, and it is usually only there to hurt. You've shown ignorance a number of times, yet I won't call you stupid, because only know you from here. A person can do some dumb things and still be smart. You can't tell unless you know them a long time.
