UK Starmer worst start of any new PM, says polling guru
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
That's exactly what I said. The Saville file "never crossed his desk" (nudge, nudge, wink, wink). Fascinating how the highest of high profile nonces did not make it onto the desk of the head of the CPS, some would suggest it's simply unbelievable. Boris was a liar but Starmer is objectively more of a liar. Ask the WASPI women, the pensioners, the working people, the farmers, the disabled, the businesses (small and large), his own party and the lies he told to get the leadership of the party, the parents of kids who expected him to abolish the 2 child cap, the IFS and the "black hole". I can't actually think of a single thing that he has said that is even close to the truth - can you? As he has such a penchant for lying, I simply don't believe the Saville file didn't cross his desk, not for a nanosecond. If you are gullible enough to believe him about this then perhaps you might be interested in purchasing some land on the moon I have for sale... -

UK Starmer worst start of any new PM, says polling guru
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The chances of this being terrorism is about as likely as some far right thuggery occurring because of incitement by a Lucy Connolly tweet. If Saville got a free pass for noncery under his "leadership" in the CPS, then I tend to wonder if he has an Epstein style black book containing the activities of other deviants in positions of power that also coincidentally "didn't come across his desk". Just speculation of course as I find it difficult to comprehend how someone so devoid of personality and competence has managed to leverage himself into such a position of power. It would be incredibly difficult (outside of Glastonbury of course) to find anyone, literally anyone, less competent than this moron. -
UK Starmer worst start of any new PM, says polling guru
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Labour do not have female PMs as they are a bunch of hypocrites. If Starmer goes he will be replaced with a white man. That said, they might have already had their first gay PM, but the media seems to be sitting on (or prevented from) investigating why exactly 3 rent boys set about setting fire to his properties, or why lord Alli was plying him with gifts. So that would be something that they can hold over the Tories if that ever actually get made public. Fascinating how we had weeks of 24/7 news coverage about Boris eating a cake on his birthday, yet there is complete silence on Starmer with a far more intriguing scandal. It could make someone wonder just how many cases (of a Saville nature) he must have covered up or sat on when he was director of CPS to have such influence over what the media chooses to focus on or getting judges to issue D notices. -
UK Ofcom Says Trans Views Must Still Be Aired Despite Supreme Court Ruling
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
You have this incorrect. Ofcom considers "climate alarmism" as a settled scientific issue so does not require balance from the broadcasters to provide the opposing view. They consider whether or not a woman can actually have a penis as a "not settled" issue so require broadcasters to provide an alternative view. So if someone says "women cannot have a penis" on TV then they have to provide some fantasist on to say that women can indeed, have a penis. The supreme court settled this. Ofcom should not encourage law breaking by having people on TV who suggest its fine for men to compete in women's sports or use women's single sex spaces. -
UK Reform would be largest party if general election held today
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
So the Tories have proven that they cannot be trusted, and Labour are presiding over the worst and most detested government since records began, raising taxes, borrowing even more, lowering growth, increasing illegal immigration and now have a puppet as the PM who cannot implement changes despite the large majority. I suspect actual headless chickens would not have fared any worse. You think voting for either of these imbecilic parties again is a better option? Crikey. -

18% of prisoners are muslim. Since the religion of peace is not the religion of peace (a fact that Tommy Robinson has been stating for 2 decades now) he cannot be amongst the muslim prisoners as they will probably kill him since they are, you know, so peaceful. Contempt of court is a non violent civil offense and the sentence should have been carried out in an low security or open prison with other non-violent offenders where he would not have needed to be segregated and suffered the inhumane conditions of solitary confinement for such a long time. Pretending to yourself that this kind of sentence and this kind of inhumane punishment is normal doesn't make it reality. Anyway 2-tier justice has once again been confirmed in the UK. The mental gymnastics required to pretend this is not happening could start to cause brain hemorrhages so try and be careful. -

Reform have pledged to make big savings on the net zero scam and deporting illegal immigrants and also stopping the invasion of illegal immigrants. If they have any sense then they will also remove any and all benefits for all foreign nationals that have not made at least 10 years worth of contributions. Thats a lot of savings potentially. Labour had 14 years to prepare for this and have demonstrably failed to manage the cost of their promises, kept or unkept, in their manifesto. They are taxing more and spending more (causing lower growth) than the last government and since they only are able to attract the adult equivalent of student activists into the party they are finding it impossible to make the needed cuts. Why do you hold Reform to a higher standard than Labour? -
Being gay these days is an accepted norm (muslim countries excepted of course). It's not "hostile" and because it is so normalized the "gay times" would be just as relevant as the "left handed times" if it existed. If they jumped on the trans bandwagon then they only have themselves to blame as a movement that cheats at sport, mutilates kids and invades womens spaces was only ever going to have a short lifetime. They were probably popular as they existed in a time before gay rights existed in the west. Maybe they should start again in the middle east to replicate their past success.
-
Yes I remember this and the incessant wailing from the left. People don't want to vote for a party that promise to make cuts to wasteful spending (that Tory government being the obvious exception), they vote for those who promise to spend yet more money that far outweighs the tax income. Reform also seem to be falling into this trap as it is the only way to gain power. It's quite frankly a fundamental problem with a democratic system where people vote for what they can get for themselves rather than what is beneficial for the wider country as a whole and/or the future generations. Maybe it's time to embrace a cold and calculating AI to run the country that cannot be swayed by the whingeing and that does not pander to those who contribute the least, and cannot be bribed by lobbyists or self interested parties. That's not a serious point, but the way the UK has been run for the last few decades is clearly unsustainable and I have no doubt an IMF bailout is on the cards before too long along that comes with crippling and forced cuts to every single welfare system.

They don't call him 2 tier Keir for nothing. He has now found a way for 2 people with the exact same disability to not receive the same help. What an imbecile. Any half decent lawyer will be rubbing their hands at taking the government to court due to the obvious unfairness of this proposal so it's a shame that Labour don't have a single half decent lawyer in their ranks who could foresee this coming down the line. There was a much simpler solution to this. Don't give these payments for "mental health" conditions such as anxiety and depression (the UK is apparently the only country that gives money as a disability payment for mental health conditions) which is apparently 40% of disability payments and immediately stop paying any benefits to any foreign national who does not have 10 years contributions to the system.

UK Rotherham ‘grooming victim’ was told ‘white girls are for rape’
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I find it quite confounding that leftists appease muslims. In general terms (not all muslims disclaimer etc) they are the farthest of far-right of any community in the UK and every poll indicates they are homophobic, misogynistic and women subjugating community. Some have been committing organised rape against a specific race of underage girls for decades and the "community" has been at best silent about it or at worst participating or been complicit in it. Some are openly racist with their hatred towards Jews, are responsible for the vast majority of terrorist attacks in the west and are highly over represented in prison making up 18% of the prison population when they make up just 6.5% of the UK. No other group would get away with what they are able to with such impunity. -
So when they were freed, why didn't they go back to their "own cultures" to the land of the people that actually sold them as slaves in the first place? Nobody was forcing them to stay in the rich and prosperous western countries at that point, but they probably didn't want to as they would have just been sold as slaves to countries not controlled by the British empire had they returned. Slavery existed for thousands of years before the west indulged in this practice and was the first (in the case of the UK) to abolish it. Anyway, you clearly feel guilty about this so I'll set up a Gofundme for those who feel guilty about it and wish to donate. It will be called "Reparations from people who never owned slaves to people who never have been slaves". Can I count on you donating some of your own money to this?
-
Those who did well out of slavery were the ancestors of freed slaves themselves. Instead of having to live in poor countries (whose leaders actually sold their ancestors into slavery in the first place) get to live and prosper in richer western countries. One can only imagine how much worse their lives would have been had their ancestors not been slaves. How much do you think the ancestors of the slaves should have to pay for this gift? Considering it cost the British taxpayer (in todays money) over £16bn to end slavery, perhaps there should be an "ancestor of slave tax" which could be used to pay reparations to the British people who shouldered the burden of paying to end slavery as a starting point.

UK Asylum Appeals Surge Leaves Thousands of Migrants in Hotels for Years
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
It's (kind of) been tried with Bibby Stockholm. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c4ng711yy2yo "She said a large number of the migrants had boycotted their breakfast and lunch, and had taken part in a two-hour sit-in at the site's outside compound." The eventual rewards are too great for them to go home. They have to be turned back before they get to the UK. It's the only way. Australia did it and solved the problem within a few weeks. -

UK Asylum Appeals Surge Leaves Thousands of Migrants in Hotels for Years
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
A Tory party made up of some actual tories, some Lib dems pretending they are conservative and even some Labour types pretending to be conservative is about as far from an unassailable majority as you can get. Parliament makes the UK laws so if they had what you said they had (an unassailable majority) then obviously they could have changed the law to enact their policies. Saying that something a majority government wants to enact is "in breach of UK law" when they can change the law suggests a childlike grasp of how UK parliament works. The money didn't have to be wasted. That was Labour's choice and since they have been scrambling around looking for 3rd countries to extract failed asylum seekers to then I'd suggest that they know themselves now that it was stupidity of the highest order to cancel it on day one to make their ridiculous student activist points. Don't worry, it's gone far enough now that the next government will be an actual right wing government that will tackle this problem. A left wing government could deal with this problem (look at Denmark) and even Labour could make up their lost ground by literally copying their left wing counterparts in Denmark, but they won't, because they are moronic clowns. -
UK Asylum Appeals Surge Leaves Thousands of Migrants in Hotels for Years
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The Tory "plan" which never got off the ground was to process the asylum claims in Rwanda which created the backlog as they wanted to send claimants there for processing. The reason this never got off the ground is due to civil service whingers, LibDems posing as Tories and Labour not supporting the plan to such an extent they ditched it on the first day they got into government without having any other kind of plan to replace it. "Smashing the gangs" was not a plan, will never be a plan, and is as vacuous a statement as "fixing the foundations" or "22 million black hole". Labour have created the backlog by speeding up the processing, and since most illegal dinghy arrivals are economic migrants or worse (terrorists, rapists etc) their asylum claims are rightly rejected. Labour didn't have a plan for this either so now the illegals are festering in hotels and getting legal aid giving them an opportunity to come up with numerous reasons to stay, such as impregnating someone, converting to being gay/christian etc. So yes, it is Labour who are responsible for this as despite having 14 years to come up with some kind of plan, they didn't. So we are where we are.- 91 replies

UK Asylum Appeals Surge Leaves Thousands of Migrants in Hotels for Years
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Incorrect. Perhaps the 20% of the electorate who voted for Labour this time should shoulder some of the responsibility for this mess, but the electorate has consistently voted for much, much less immigration and zero illegal immigration. The majority of UK citizens are not to blame for this, but the self serving clowns in the government and civil service who have consistently blocked any efforts to deal with this situation are at fault here. If (or more likely when) civil unrest occurs as a result of the failure of to implement the will of the electorate then the blame should lay squarely at the feet of government.- 91 replies

UK Asylum Appeals Surge Leaves Thousands of Migrants in Hotels for Years
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The legal aid system was designed to provide a reasonable defence for British citizens when accused of a serious crime and is paid for by UK taxpayers. To provide this for dinghy illegals at the cost of £69 per hour per illegal is insulting. If there was anyone of any reasonable intelligence in government then the illegal dinghy arrivals would be made to fund their own appeals and accommodation or give them a choice of accepting a free flight home. Then there would be no backlog and the hotels would magically empty.- 91 replies

UK Labour Whip Resigns in Protest Against Starmer’s Welfare Reforms
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The key word of course being citizens. I don't see any reference to cultural enrichers arriving on dinghies there, do you? -
No, we didn't invent technology to sanitize water because we were "dumping our waste into it", it was invented to stop people (especially kids) dying from cholera, typhoid, and hepatitis etc. The oceans are not "filling up with plastic", estimates suggest it is less than 0.000000003%. Not ideal of course but excessive hyperbole just makes you sound a bit ridiculous really.
-
So if there were less intelligent species on the planet that were not capable of harvesting natural resources for energy, what do you propose caused the climate change that has always existed on this planet in the past? Do you think that dinosaurs were driving around in giant cars perhaps? Or has climate change always happened with or without humans existing. The good news for you is that this happens over hundreds of thousands/millions of years so there is a bit of time yet before the panic button needs to be hit. Yawn, every generation since humans could read and write has always had its share of "end of the world is nigh" doom mongers. Human civilization has always been on the precipice, especially so before we invented the technology to sanitize water, heal infections, to farm crops, and so on.

Quite frankly this has ruined Top Gun Maverick for me now. What were they thinking using F-18s for their strike with ridiculously difficult twists and turns and G forces via an almost impossible to negotiate canyon and having to line up a Luke Skywalker style missile shot (without the ability to use the force) and "2 miracles" when they could have just used B-2 stealth bombers from on high and been in and out without anyone noticing until it was too late?
