There is no such thing as "positive" discrimination. It's negative, it's racist, it breeds resentment, and every single time it happens it causes more and more people to become a bit more racist than they were yesterday. Racism was just about defeated in the 90s/2000s and its made a huge comeback thanks to the racists on the left that seem to think by being racist to white people they are anti-racist, such is the level of their stupidity.

Labour Revises Plans on Grooming Gang Investigations Amid Backlash
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
When their MPs are being arrested for child rape it doesn't take a lot to join the dots and wonder why they might not want Labour councils to be investigated. Utterly shameful that little girls can be raped and the rapist enablers are protected by the government. Labour, its MPs and its councils are a direct threat to women and girls (and probably little boys) who are unfortunate to have to live in the cesspit of cultural enrichment that is now the UK. -
FTSE plummets to one-year low amid global stock market chaos
James105 replied to CharlieH's topic in World News
How anyone can express surprise or shock that tariffs were introduced is beyond my comprehension. Every time Trump spoke before the election he was talking about implementing tariffs. Now he has implemented exactly what he talked about implementing. The fact that the markets didn't price this in when Trump was elected just goes to show how the system is so used to presidents making and then breaking promises simply to get elected. This should not have come as a shock to the markets or the likes of Bill Ackman unless they presumed that they were getting yet another controllable puppet as president that they can manipulate to their will. -
Labour MP Dan Norris Arrested Over Alleged Child Sex Offences
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
He is a member of the party that does not want a national enquiry into the rape gangs which would no doubt shed some light into what exactly was going on in Labour run councils. Every single Labour MP and councilor should be having their hard drives checked. This one was even given the job of "child protection officer" that do doubt put him in direct contact with vulnerable children. Evidence only takes so long to come to light if said evidence is buried under the carpet with like minded colleagues doing the job of sweeping it under. -
Russell Brand criminally charged with rape...
James105 replied to FriscoKid's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Doesn't really matter what you believe does it? If you were not there you cannot know. I presume that if this was your son/brother/father or you being accused of such a crime that you profess innocence to you would want a bit more than a "believable story" as the test to find you guilty of a crime that carries such a punishment that will destroy your life completely? -
Russell Brand criminally charged with rape...
James105 replied to FriscoKid's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Maybe he did behave criminally. Maybe he didn't. That's for the court to decide. It bothers me somewhat that during the past 20 years since these alleged offenses occurred that not a peep was heard from these accusers when he held and espoused the "right" opinions. It's only since he ventured into expressing the "wrong" opinions about the establishment that these seem to have come to light. -
Trump hits island home only to penguins with 10% tariffs
James105 replied to PomPolo's topic in Political Soapbox
It probably didn't occur to you that countries with high tariffs might use such territories to avoid tariffs by routing goods through these places. By putting tariffs on such places it simply removes this possibility. -
Tesla’s Sales Plummet, Marking Lowest Numbers in Three Years
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Just trying to understand why the level of derangement about a man who is simply trying to cut waste from a country that is living 2 trillion dollars a year above its means, which is clearly unsustainable. Are you equally deranged about Musk? If so, why? Do you even know? -
Tesla’s Sales Plummet, Marking Lowest Numbers in Three Years
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Did you need hard evidence that tax money wasn't being wasted? Are you so naive to base it on trust? Do you have hard evidence that (already) kids are dying purely due to cuts Musk has made in the last month? I want some hard evidence provide me some links please. -
Tesla’s Sales Plummet, Marking Lowest Numbers in Three Years
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
You sound completely deranged. His job is to cut waste. He has a proven track record at doing this and it is a temporary job that he is giving his time for without charge as he recognizes that the USA cannot keep racking up debt like it has been. For the wastrels this will be difficult for sure, but the severance packages are generous and should tide them over until they get a proper job. Why do you want the US to continue to defraud the taxpayer? Unless you are a recipient of this fraudulent waste of money I can't get my head around this level of derangement. Other than rescuing stranded astronauts abandoned by Biden, providing starlink free for Ukraine military, investing in tech to help paraplegics move again, spent hundreds of millions in battery tech R&D to then give away the patents for free to other car companies, what exactly has he done to cause this derangement in people like you? -
Trump Declares 'Liberation Day' as Sweeping Tariffs Take Effect
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Russia are under sanctions which are harsher than tariffs. Maybe you would have a point if he had lifted the sanctions and not imposed tariffs, but he didn't, so you don't. -
Yes the geniuses in Labour raised the minimum wage at the same time as hitting businesses with higher NICs and a lower threshold. The clueless morons didn't even stop to think why there was a difference in minimum wage between an 18 year old and a 21 year old either. No doubt you didn't either. They are clueless idiots that are going to preside over reduced employment which means higher benefits payouts and less tax receipts despite higher taxes.

It's a thing for certain politicians in Europe yes, depending on their politics and how much of a threat they are to the establishment. I presume that you are fine with Christine Lagarde facing no punishment at all for a far more significant criminal act than simply mis-assigning aides time to work on party business rather than EU business? https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/christine-lagarde-convicted-imf-head-found-guilty-of-negligence-in-fraud-trial-a7484586.html Christine Lagarde convicted: IMF head found guilty of criminal charges over massive government payout But former French finance minister, who faced potentially one year in jail, will not face any punishment

Just 5 posts in and with have a Godwin! Just because calling Trump Hitler didn't work last time it doesn't mean the same tactic won't work next time....right? Besides, what Trump is doing is ANTI discrimination. DEI is discrimination. Why do you want discrimination to continue? Are you some kind of anti white racist?

World Athletics Introduces Gender Testing for Female Track Athletes
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Why? Males pretending to be females can compete in the male category and females pretending to be males (so long as they haven't taken too many performance enhancing drugs) can compete against females. If you start down your suggested path then your naivety will get you accused of transphobia as you are excluding 2 spirit penguins and non-binary etc. -
Labour’s Energy Dilemma: “drill, baby, drill,”?
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Fascinating to see Labour having to implement policies they would be screaming about had it been the Tories that implemented them. First they took away the Winter fuel allowance, then they went for the farmers with inheritance tax, then they slashed the the foreign aid budget, then they hit the disabled by reducing their benefits. If it wasn't for the 40% increase in illegal migrant crossings (Labour's one area of growth) and the tax on education for private schools I'd be wondering if the Tories or reform had somehow wangled their way into government. Now they are talking about using the UK's own natural resources rather than importing coal or whatever from China? Even more fascinating is watching the Labour shills contort themselves into supporting these policies. -
This article is about vaping not the perfectly legal and far more poisonous from of ingesting nicotine which is cigarettes. Banning vapes means more cigarette smokers which means more second hand toxic cigarette smoke. Quite surprised you would be in favor of this crackdown based on your anecdotes, especially as this is a policy designed to get more people buying cigarettes from the government owned tobacco companies.
-
I doubt it. I presume they have done the maths and worked out that even with taxing vapes they will not make as much money as they do with the far more poisonous cigarette sales. If cigarettes were not a government monopoly vapes would already be legal. People have been so gaslit over this that they even claim they prefer to inhale second hand cigarette smoke to vapes. Crazy. Luckily for the government there are plenty of stupid people out there that will believe whatever their propaganda tells them to believe and will happily use the snitching app to snitch on their neighbors. If this crackdown works and people are forced to go back to cigarettes (due to the highly addictive nature of nicotine) then due to the nature of Thailand (and most bars/restaurants allowing people to smoke freely) then we are all going to be inhaling a lot more secondhand stinky cigarette smoke in future. Great.

UK Growth Forecast Slashed, Delivering a Blow to Starmer and Reeves
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
This is a single month. Growth isn't based on a single month. Next month the real anti-growth measures kick in when additional taxes kick in and the recession will follow shortly after. -
UK Growth Forecast Slashed, Delivering a Blow to Starmer and Reeves
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The only growth Labour will achieve is growth in China where they are buying solar panels from and growth in carbon emissions due to importing them into the UK all the way from China. -
Teslas torched with Molotov cocktails and shot with gun
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Your link is out of date. You will no doubt be disappointed but the financial times also reported the valuation. I didn't post it as it is behind a paywall and mistakenly thought posting a link from an Elon Musk hating lefty comic like the Guardian would be sufficient but the denial seems to be quite strong here. Kind of weird as Musk is simply trying to help the US and remove some of the corrupt waste. Unless you are a beneficiary of this corruption I'm not sure why you would have a problem with what he is doing. -

Except Twitter hasn't been a money loser so I'd say it's an excellent gauge at his ability to cut staff, save money and generate a profit. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2025/mar/19/value-elon-musk-x-rebounds-purchase-price "Value of Elon Musk’s X ‘rebounds to $44bn purchase price" Perhaps the richest man on the planet knows a thing or two about business that you do not?
