All seems a tad insignificant compared to the last Labour government no? How many wars did Blair take us into between 1997 and 2010? How many lives were lost due to the warmongering actions of the last Labour government? How many wars have the Tories taken us into over the last 14 years? I cannot stand the Tories but they are borderline pacifists in comparison to what came before them.

https://www.mandy.com/u/andrew-parker-1/ Fully paid up equity member. Equity were very quick to judge Laurence Fox for making sensible statements on Question time that were nowhere near the level of bile this guy stated. The fact they are being so quiet about this one is... unusual. Like I said, it has Jessie Smollet vibes about it.

Reform UK Overtakes Tories in Polls for the First Time
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The Labour manifesto explicitly rules this out: https://labourlist.org/2024/06/labour-party-european-union-brexit-manifesto-2024/ “With Labour, Britain will stay outside of the EU. But to seize the opportunities ahead, we must make Brexit work. We will reset the relationship and seek to deepen ties with our European friends, neighbours and allies. That does not mean reopening the divisions of the past. There will be no return to the single market, the customs union, or freedom of movement.” They could well face similar decimation as the Tories next time around if they treat their manifesto with the same disdain as the Tories did with theirs. -
This man is so, so weak. Whichever way the cultural wind is blowing is his opinion on things - he has zero convictions. Not a big deal when he is just the opposition leader but a bit different when he is PM in a few weeks. He discovered recently (in his 60s no less) that men have penises and women have vaginas. He previously said that men can self identify as women and if he was PM at the time no doubt the UK would have had the same farcical situation as Scotland where a male rapist was housed in a female prison. He now says this is a bad idea. He also took the knee to the corrupt BLM organisation. What a 5 years the UK has in store. Thank the all powerful sky wizard I am no longer a tax resident there.

Reform UK Overtakes Tories in Polls for the First Time
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
People voted for change. Why do you think that is? Because they think the UK is being well run and were quite happy that manifesto promises were continuously broken? The referendum came along which meant for the first time in their lives their vote actually counted for something. It was a rejection of the globalist agenda and they were making the point they wanted the government to prioritise team UK rather than team world. The referendum could have been on anything really and the people would have voted against whatever the government/establishment was selling, it just happened to be on EU membership. Call it racist all you want as that word has no meaning any more and nowadays it is commonly used by people of lesser intelligence to describe people who think open borders are a terrible idea. -

Tories: High taxes, high immigration, high spending. Labour: Higher taxes, higher immigration, higher spending. Yes, not quite the same but somehow worse. Yes we will get a Labour government and you will get to see how bad this is when the economy is not booming (as it was under Blair) and taxes have to be raised as the amount spent on debt interest is already higher than the cost of education so borrowing more is off the table. Of course Labour will try and target the rich people but the rich people will move somewhere else so it will be the normal folks getting hit with the tax rises to cover the wasteful spending they will want to implement. The next 5 years will be rough in the UK. Labour are not getting into government on a wave of optimism like last time, they are getting to be in government because the Tories need to be punished for not being Conservative. Rich folks are already leaving. Expect this to increase. https://www.standard.co.uk/business/millionaires-leave-uk-rich-high-net-worth-china-dubai-uae-florida-usa-dubai-henley-b1165154.html Lets hope it is just a single term so either reform or a reformed Conservative party that is actually conservative can repair the damage. -

Stop voting for the establishment parties with their globalist agendas and vote for someone who believes in Britain and the concept of being an independent nation. It was never going to amount to much when the EU trough is so vast and the establishment piggies want to keep their snouts deep inside it. One day the people of the UK will wake up and realise that the current establishment parties do not and have not represented their interests for many, many years now. Sadly that will not be this election, but I have some hope for the next as there is little doubt the Labour government will be an absolute shambles and the Tory disaster will still be fresh in peoples minds. Maybe the next one the people will truly vote for change. -
Gary Lineker's Attire Sparks Controversy Over BBC Advertising Rules
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
He can't be that wealthy if he feels the need to advertise products on the publicly funded tv service paid for by people who happen to have a TV in their home. Maybe the £1.5m he gets per year for doing half a days work per week during the football season isn't enough. Or perhaps he is just greedy and is far from the virtuous person you think he is. -

Sure, if that party is blaming the state of economy on the actions of the government that they supported that caused the economic problems without accepting their role in this. If they had opposed lockdowns then they would have a point. They didn't. They wanted longer, harder lockdowns which would have caused even more economic damage. -

Fine. If you want to be pedantic then obviously I meant the Labour opposition. Happy now? -

The pandemic costs outweigh everything else you mention by a very very large margin. Shutting down the economy and giving people money not to work was a catastrophic mistake that made no material difference to the outcomes of Covid. The Labour government wanted longer and harder lockdowns and otherwise supported everything the Tories did. High levels of low skilled or no skilled immigration is great for big business who can take advantage of cheap labour but not so great for the working classes whose wages get depressed due to this, and since all these extra people need somewhere to live then this pushes up rents and the cost of buying a house which is now insurmountable for most normal people in the UK. Also, whilst some of these migrants may well be doing the jobs that Brits do not want to do (such as looking after old people) then unless these are the type of migrants who do not get old or move back to their home country when they do then they will become part of an ever increasing older population that needs looking after. No doubt you would want more immigrants to come in to look after the old immigrants? It's a Ponzi scheme that will some day crash the NHS and the welfare state that Leftists claim to love so much. -

Which is why I included the Tories in the list. Here is a reminder of what I said as you chopped off the part that covered this in your quote: "Why are you worried about this? You already have plenty of choices as a lefty. You can choose Labour, Greens, Lib Dems, the Scottish and Welsh parties if you are in that area and the Conservatives. " Not sure if you are aware but "Conservatives" is the name of the party that people refer to as the "Tories". So as a lefty if you crave high taxes, high immigration, high energy bills to subsidise the green agenda and you want to leave future generations with massive debts where the costs of servicing the debt is higher than the cost of the NHS then either Conservative or Labour will satisfy this craving. There is just so much choice nowadays as a lefty. -

Why are you worried about this? You already have plenty of choices as a lefty. You can choose Labour, Greens, Lib Dems, the Scottish and Welsh parties if you are in that area and the Conservatives. All of these parties will offer you high taxation, high immigration, high energy bills to subsidise the green agenda and massive borrowing that future generations can deal with. For those on the right of center that want a smaller state, lower taxes and less government interference there are slim pickings. -
The Rise and Fall of Alex Jones: From Conspiracies to Courtrooms

Right, so he didn't actually do any of those things then and you just made them up. Did he directly call for violence against the parents then? Do you have a link for that? -

This is what you said: "How about hurty bullets fired into your car and property? And a multitude of death threats? Living in fear for ones life is just a minor inconvenience?" Did Alex Jones do any of those things or are you "defaming" him? -

This is the first sentence I wrote that you ignored: "The 2 establishment parties no longer represent the people of the UK and represent their own interests. " -

Did Alex Jones fire hurty bullets into someones car and property? If so then he should be charged with criminal damage. I was under the impression his crime was hurty words. Do you have a link to back up your claim that he did this? -

It was really just a question to see if you have any sense of perspective whatsoever. Since you dodged the question I am going to assume not. -

Who is monetizing the weapons responsible for the actual deaths of the children? Who profits from this? Do you think they bear zero responsibility for their deaths compared to Alex Jones and his use of hurty words after the event? If not what do you think their reparations should be for this compared to the sum that Alex Jones is charged with for using hurty words? -

Yes, I would say that hurty words (even if they are untrue, hurtful, slanderous and defamatory lies) is insignificant in comparison to actually being responsible for the death of someones child. You disagree with that premise? -
The Rise and Fall of Alex Jones: From Conspiracies to Courtrooms
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The deaths of their children made their lives a living hell. You have been given an alternative (and incorrect) monster to point at to misdirect you from who is actually to blame for the deaths of their children and since (like so many people) you regurgitate what your media overlords tell you to think you give the actual monsters free reign to continue as they are. Maybe the families should be given $1.5bn to compensate them for their pain, but considering what Alex Jones did to them compared to the others then he should only be responsible for about $100,000 of it. -

The 2 establishment parties no longer represent the people of the UK and represent their own interests. If proportional representation prevents them from following the WEF agenda of "you will own nothing and be happy" then maybe it is time for PR but it's too late if Labour get a super majority. Can you see your Labour party implementing something like PR when this would obviously prevent them from winning so many seats? To do so would mean doing something in the interests of "the people" rather than the interests of "the party" so its pretty obvious it will not happen. -
The Rise and Fall of Alex Jones: From Conspiracies to Courtrooms
James105 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Maybe he did but he was not the cause of those kids being killed that caused the pain those parents went through. Those more responsible would be the NRA, the company that made the weapons, the government that allowed the weapons to be circulated, the person or shop that allowed someone to buy the weapons, and most of all the person who did the actual shooting. Fining Alex Jones $1.5 billion does nothing at all to stop the next batch of parents suffering in the same way. The fact that he was fined so much when his contribution to their pain is so insignificant in comparison to those I listed is ridiculous and just gives those who are more responsible yet another free pass.
