Indeed, some or all of the figures have been wholly fabricated.

One of the reasons why Hang Kra Rok(ST1) is your favourite, is it's equal parts of THC/CBD, at approx. 7% of each.

Tanaosri(WA1) is probably closer to 9% to 10%.

They do themselves no favours making up the figures, as many people prefer something balanced, as opposed to strong to the nth degree. Hence your preference for ST1.

yeah, you can see that i clearly have an OCD. My opinion is that it doesn't matter how herb looks as long as it works on you. I tried some very good looking, smelling, tasting and bloody expensive stuff which made me go back to ST1 and puff it. Just like you GF want to eat sticky rice after dinner at Bruno's.

Huh? What? Your girlfriend hasn't been to my place ????

That will depend entirely on your location and package apllicable to the sim.

It also depends on the router. Without carrier aggregation, expect around 20 Mbps.

Theoretically, the router you suggested is only capable of half of the speed of the one suggested by J2U.

His suggestion is good for hotel use and travel; not so good for a house or multi room apartment.

Similar to what Charlie's solution that worked well for us, family of four as we traveled all over Thailand for a month.

We had a tiny travel router/modem from True.

    Connected up to 8 devices.

    Worked great!

Seemed overly expensive for a no- brand name item. I decided to investigate.... It's CAT-6...which is good. That means 2CA on Band 1 & 3 and Band 1 and Band 8.

Though your price suggestion is still too high: https://shopee.co.th/Pocket-WiFi-IoT-True-4G-Smart1-i.42202377.2698002195

Next time, at least try posting a link. OP won't get far clicking on a picture ????  Good find.

I stopped using Ookla Speedtest as results were unreliable and often way over speeds allowed, most people ignore that because they want faster speeds, ignorance is bliss and all that.  If you compared with testmy.net using a fixed speed sim you'll see the difference

Yes, it's strange isn't it? Sadly, because of this, the thread is becoming a bit of a joke.

I cannot even look at some of the crazy posts on here anymore.

It's like they want to believe that the high speeds are true and that the ones that show the actual speed available to them are not to be believed.

Have any of them actually tried to download a file to see if they get anything close to the Speedtest figures? I think it's just best to leave them to it.

Then its no really relevant is it? Very few people will be looking to book so far in advance - especially with the current cost of living crisis.

Can I just add - everytime someone qoutes flight prices, there's always someone who comes along claiming they can find cheaper ones.

This isn't a competition - the prices I'm quoting are, I'd suggest, entirely relevant to the majority of travellers - especially to members here who, if they don't already live in Thailand, tend to be regular travellers.  Most people I know tend to book at the 2 to 3 month marker - unless they only put in 1 visit per year.

Show me one - sub £450 flight with reasonable timings, that is actually bookable, between now and December.  Remember, you actually have to start the booking process before you find out the true cost.  Quite often I click on the 'View Deal' tab on Travel Supermarket and the prices changes by 100's of pounds.

Nice strawman argument. You wrote that there are no sub-£450 fares and I showed clearly that there are. The fact that they don't fit your booking pattern is your problem.

Already in this thread, I linked to a very good choice for your December flight, at £1208 and you rejected it for your gamble. Good luck with that.

Of course it's a competition. It's your competition to find the cheapest flight for yourself. But your attitude(I've been doing this for 21 years etc) is impeding your progress.

You think you know it better, so you will act as if you are always right. For that you will surely pay. Might just be a few hundred pounds and it's your money. I tried to help and you were ungrateful as usual. Go back to take a look at where I showed you very good flights for £1208. You did not even thank me. Never mind.

    Have a nice day.

Well I'm going to take a little gamble - I'm going to leave it a bit longer. Not as big a gamble as I normally take and usually win through. I have a court date and must be there otherwise I would leave it longer.

My gamble is that people will be put off by the current prices - the airlines may have been lucky with high demand recently but that's bound to fade before too long.  Allowing for fuel price increases I'd guess that if it wasn't for Covid, Christmas prices should be around £900.

The airlines adjust prices according to how sales are going.  I'm hoping they're still bouyed by the recent high demand and think that will continue.  Christmas is a time when families take their holidays because everyone is off at the same time. I can't imagine too many familes with say 2 kids over 12 will be prepared to lay out £6000 ish just for their flights.

Nobody really knows what demand will be by Christmass but I'm prepared to wait a little while longer.

A couple of samples from today's prices (MAN 15 Dec - BKK 2Jan):

With acceptable durations and including luggage:

    Qatar £1481

    Etihad £1411

    With longer durtations:

    Swiss £1242 (18h 55min outbound/25h 45min inbound)

Not so long ago, those prices were someone's telephone number!

    www.travelsupermarket.com

You are almost certainly going to pay for your assertion that two airlines are worse than one. Perhaps on a split booking, but not on one PNR. Then there is no difference. Perhaps only in your mind.

I used Qatar and they stiffed me. They didn't make the connection and have pointedly refused to pay compensation. Many people are simply refusing to use them because of their poor customer service. I would have gone for the THAI/Lufthansa combo in a heartbeat, at less than 16 hours each way for £1208. Travelling upstairs on the Lufthansa A380 was very comfortable with excellent service.

I'm learning to stop trying to convince people of the error of their ways. Better to allow them to learn for themselves.

According to the experts, fuel prices are only a small proportion of the recent increases. Airlines cashing in on increased demand due to people being able to travel once again is generally given as the main reason.

They did of course go through a very tough time during the pandemic but many of us did too.

I doubt we'll see £450 flights again but I think they'll return to competetive pricing before long. If the empty seats on the Qatar flights are anything to go by, the rush seems to be over.

There are already sub £450 flights available, they just don't fit your pattern of booking.

If you book in advance, you can obtain flights from London or Manchester for sub £350. BHX sub £400. Though you are looking at from next April onwards for those prices.

already did that a month back ....  all they did was go out and check the signal strength by plugging in the laptop at the rooftop site ...  they probably adjusted nothing and consider it acceptable.  I will put up with it until I can't stand it no more then I'll go back to them .... but I know what the AIS shop is like.... if you pay 1500/m you'll get a reasonable service with no buffering .... if you pay 200/m you'll get a service that they consider acceptable for that price.    That's my assessment and I think it's correct.

It isn't correct, as I am also running unlimited 10 & 20 Mbps SIMs. So I have relevant experience.

Exactly that. Blocks mobile internet on the provider (AIS) side independent of any phone settings.

300 Baht: AIS always eats up to 10 Baht. Then sends an SMS message about it (she should see that!). And then continues with a very low data rate for the rest of 24h.

Incorrect. It might use up to 49 baht per day...then slow down for the rest of that day. But you are quoting an out of date post, because someone decided to bump the thread.....three months later.

  12. 1 hour ago, steven100 said:

Have you spoken to AIS about it? .... I have and they gave me a new SIM, re-registered it .... I told them I'll see how it goes and if it's still bad I'd be back in a couple of weeks ...   basically, they don't care because if it not so good they just want you to pay more and buy a dearer package ...  put the profits up.  But I'll try what you said .... also I may try a one month NT ( TOT ) SIM in the other phone slot and see how that goes as it's only 190 baht for the month or similar .... only thing is with the NT sim is I heard the registering is a bit complex .....  have to investigate more.

I don't really agree with your assessment. They offer a refund when my connection is not up to scratch.

I don't understand why you are considering an NT SIM at 199 baht when all of the networks are offering unlimited, albeit capped at 15 or 20 Mbps at much the same price.

Secondly, the shop won't be able to help you at all, beyond changing the SIM. You need to call 1175 to report it as a fault, if it is a fault. Then technicians can get involved.

hi Simon,  not sure where you are now, I think you were in Pattaya for a while ....  anyway,

so how can I prevent the AIS DNS server drop outs that occur every day & at night time when I'm watching a movie?  ....  Do I enter the above ipconfig commands in the Command Prompt only once and it will stop the AIS server dis-connections from happening ?  thanks

If disconnections are taking place, try changing your LTE band.  I solved my issue by changing from Band 1 to Band 3.

There is no one hour disconnection, as I can download images that take hours, with no connection resets.

Have you spoken to AIS about it?

Somehow I had the feeling that the speed of my True 300 Mbps got limited to lower speeds at certain times. Hope I will not have this experience with the 30 Mbps. But I indent to test the True and the AIS 30 Mbps packages. DTAC had big problems at my location. 30 Mbps speed showed only 5/5 (with Speedtest ????).

But anyhow. The most important test is the "real world" test. This for more days including weekends. And I will not cancel 3BB immediately.

300 Mbps is just theoretical. As you can see, you are lucky to get 30 Mbps in real terms. Plus with your choice of router, you might not achieve even that.

As of now, your choice is a cheap 12 month SIM with unlimited 15 Mbps or a monthly SIM with unlimited 20 Mbps or 30 Mbps. Do not bother to wasting time and energy contemplating two 'full speed' SIMs with limited volume(60 or 70 GB). It's really a not a good idea ☺️

I posted testmy.net results. Here again 3 tests pretty much at the same time. The results were always very different. After some test I did not use it anymore because of this.

    SmartSelect_20220929-131152_Opera.jpg

    SmartSelect_20220929-130942_Samsung Internet Beta.jpg

    Combined test. Download and Upload.

Either way, those are your real speeds, forget about Speedtest nonsense.

They are different because that is the nature of a mobile connection. It's not fixed. It will fluctuate.

If you wish, apply a fixed speed pack and test again. Speedtest will likely continue to supply 'pie in the sky figures', whilst Test My will remain accurate.

So far, you are looking good for a 30 Mbps Truemove H SIM at 235 per month. You can do a month to see how you get on with it. No need to make a big investment.

Here my results after 24 hours with True 300 Mbps SIM on Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus with 4G LTE (it is a pretty modern tablet).

To my surprise True showed much less data volume than my device. The allowance was 1,5 GB and according to my system I had used more than 4 GB already. Only when the 24 hours were over it took money from my True balance without any warning.

What is clear after all my tests is that it depends very much on your location. The best speed I could get was about 80/39 standing at the same level with the outside antennas about 40 meters away. Perhaps higher speeds would be possible with other test servers.

In my room the situation without direct view of the antennas and about 60 meters away it was different. Today in the morning I got about 50/23 with 4G. In this case the server was 3BB Chonburi. With 3BB VDSL and at the same 3BB server (standing in front of the WiFi router) I got 42/22. These speeds are higher if I use a PC with 3BB VDSL. There I get about 60 download speed.

Yesterday in the evening I got about 20/10 with True in my room. About half of the speed that I got at daytime. Uploads went down sometimes to 5 Mbps.

YouTube - with very high 2160p HDR it started buffering with 4G at daytime. The 3BB VDSL didn't have this problem. Lower resolutions that you will use more often showed no problems.

Now of course the question is if a SIM router behaves like my very modern tablet...

The other question is if for instance if a SIM limited to 30 Mbps would show the same 20/10 speed in my room in the evening. The unlimited speed did.

To sum it up. More testing is required. Will have to check AIS and other providers too. But I am optimistic in respect of a SIM card router - until now... In any case - you will have to test YOUR location and YOUR devices. I think there is no other option.

    16645089078230.jpg

Sorry, but you are moving into Troll territory. You have been told repeatedly to not trust SpeedTest results and have been told repeatedly that your choice of router will not behave in the same way as your Tablet.

Yet you seem to think that you know better than everyone advising you.

Publish the Test My results. No one is interested in seeing 'optimised' Speedtest results. ven if you don't like or trust what you see, publish them anyway.

  17. 10 minutes ago, Mickeymaus said:

I have tested with Speedtest (with many different servers), nPerf, adslthailand and of course with your testmy.net. The last one was very unreliable. There were big fluctuations from test to test and between used browsers. Of course I also did a real usage test with browsing and with watching videos. It is not in my interest to get good speeds now and a useless Internet afterwards.

You wrote that you use AIS. I never had anything to do with AIS. What are the speeds that you get and with which package? I understand that I will have to test at my location. But just to get an idea. And which hardware are you using?

Test My will give you the most accurate speed test. In other words, what you will actually experience. Some of the others are especially 'optimised'. That is why people using Speedtest can report 70+ Mbps on a known capped speed SIM of 10 Mbps.

Something in your brain wants to believe the SpeedTest results, so you keep publishing them, whilst refusing to publish any Test My results? Why is that?

Publish the Test My results and show some respect for the people taking their time to help you.
