    Must keep it updated.......????

billd766 didn't have any updates since September 2020. He claims to have taken it to a shop recently and that they 'fixed' his Windows 10 install ☺️

    They 'fixed' him alright.

It's a simple fix, but he thinks he knows better. Nearly two years later, he is struggling with the same issues.

I'm just about to give up completely on 3bb. No service Saturday and Sunday not bad Monday but stopped again tonight and has been down now for 5 hours . Just came back for me too send this.

If I'm going to change I need to know who to go to.

I'm in a condo so it's only a phone line access (TOT) I did have 30 mbps but as of now it's 4mbps when it's up and running'

What's my best choice of providers if I'm going to change.

I look forward to getting your comments.

Where is your back up?? With mobile broadband available at a reasonable cost, there is little to no reason for not having it as a fallback.

Up to 30 Mbps is available, more than enough for your streaming needs; 1690 baht for 12 months or 235 baht per month. Prepaid, so no obligation.

Use your Smartphone as a modem or buy a 4G router for around 1400 baht.

    Thank you.

Many of us at at some learning stage or the other, and I find that posts like this can help other people.

There are of course some "superstars" who know everything and believe that they are the greatest, but fortunately not many. I just weed them out and if they still persist, they go on my ignore list.

Perhaps that is why you have been struggling with these problems for what seems like years. 'Weeding out' the best people and leaving yourself with the people who just take wild stabs at the issue.

I can already see where you have been going wrong in this thread alone, but am loathe to get involved with you again.

Good luck to anyone else who chooses to do so. They are likely flogging a dead horse.

I am sure that you stated earlier that you took it to a shop and they fixed your Windows 10 install. What happened to that? Why are you trying to install Windows 10 again?

ven with that, I can see where you are going wrong. Have fun.

    Pretty confused.

Given @Bruno123 earlier post it's only fair to update with recent "live chat" Jetstar.

The previous time I did live chat (as shown in attachments earlier post)

I was told that the return flight is 'lost' as I was tagged no show on outbound flight.

In my upcoming flights on my Jetstar profile the return flight was still there.

That flight was eg Thurs 17 Nov and used "manage my booking" to move it by couple of days.

My reasoning was that I might get credit for taxes etc.

Sure enough the "change flight" charge was $280.

The same booking done a separate stand alone booking was $450.

So I had another go at live chat. Screenshots attached.

Seems I might be good to go.

credit where it's due to Bruno123.

That was almost an apology ☺️

But not an issue. Happy to have helped.

    Thanks Bruno123 for the contribution.

Can you clarify out a little more on what you have said, namely "The monthly plans are simply normal SIM" - I am assuming you are referring to a new SIM (posted / available in-shop) rather than the USSD code applied to an existing user SIM?

Also I am not sure what you mean "No need to purchase online" - Is this just a different way of saying that once you get a SIM then all you need is the USSD code or are you saying something other than this?

I'm not saying anything other than that. I don't think I can be more clear than I have been.

It seems the more people ask, the more confused they get.

I told you, decide what you need first. Currently you are all over the shop. Forget about the cost and decide what you actually need. You have more than enough info in this thread to make an informed and intelligent decision.

Can someone with more knowledge of TV than myself be so kind as to tell me if I need a so-called decoder/ Tv set-top box to watch Thai TV programs on the TV in the link below! I'm asking because I'm not interested in an extra remote control and having tried Tv set-top box so that is never more. If I have to buy another greater screen size TV then I'd be happy to do that but this one was planned for bedroom. Btw, living in a condo with antenna/cable connection in/on the wall and usually most Tv`s can easily be used with plugging in the antenna cable.

    Thanks

There are eight models in your link. Are we supposed to guess which one?

But really best to ask the vendor and have that in writing, as that will give you protection if it turns out to be unsuitable.

They are not a plan applied to current sim - they are the Sim card and a new phone number just as others sold by venders on Shopee and Lazada.

Nope, you don't understand the subject about which you are writing.

The longer term plans are "Ready SIM". SIM pack with a preset bundle.

The monthly plans are simply normal SIM, with the vendor applying a USSD code supplied by the network. That's why they you see the six extra digits appended to the codes, to identify and incentivise the vendor.

No need to purchase online in that case, as it takes extra time for nothing. Though no harm in doing it if you want to do so.

Yes, I knew it would be lost.

Was just looking for confirmation of that so I can book new flight.

In the end got through to online chat with Jetstar and loss of return flight was confirmed.

Interesting that they told me exactly the opposite. I asked specifically about Starter Fares and your specific routing. When they confirmed the return would not be affected, I asked them again to double check. They confirmed that it was 100% correct that the return would be unaffected.

How does it look in your Bookings? Still there and available?

Honestly, and I need to research this myself as I want my next purchase to be an Esim so I can retain old number...he can purchase E-sim and install it to his phone IMMEDIATELY after an online purchase.  **what I need to research is if these lazada vendors can provide Esims yet.

However, He's not even here yet I don't think.  He can have it purchased and shipped to his destination before even arriving.

Most people do all shopping online now (for better and worse) because of it's convenience, and in this case...better pricing.

Mainly, I'm giving him info on what will happen.  His choice to decide.

    ??

Not sure what the point of all that was....

eSIM you have to apply a monthly pack. Buying online no good in that case. Not an issue, since the monthly new SIM promos are more than good enough.

12 month SIM are even better value, but I doubt you will be in tears at having to pay 200 baht for month for unlimited 15 Mbps and unlimited voice calls.

An all sources for that DTAC 6 month plan are sold on web sites.

I don't understand the point of your post and why you are quoting me. The DTAC plans are different from the plans they distribute via vendors.

Three, six and twelve monthly plans can be bought online and direct from DTAC. Monthly plans can be applied immediately to any standard SIM. No need to waste time buying online.

    Clear?

One thing Australian expats living in Thailand have a nice deal is that the flights in my thread Melb -Bangkok are 8.5 hours direct.

In hindsight shouldn't have started this thread.

A basic "starter booking" with low cost airline was always a loss of return flight.

I notice the usual suspect (on ignore) caused issue in my simple thread.

Thanks for most of the replies.

I should let you know, just in case you attempt to Troll the members here, that I already contacted JetStar to confirm. Your statement on Starter fares was totally made up and the Inbound portion of your ticket is unaffected.

Truly disgusting to attack the person who helped you the most.

It's funny, but you too are/were on my ignore list and now I remember why.

I will go as far as to call you a liar.

JetStar is a low cost airline, which means that your statement on Starter fares is a barefaced lie.

There is no doubt whatsoever that your return flight is still valid and that your grossly ungrateful reply speaks only to your uncouth behaviour.

Let's see if you are man enough to apologise, after you call JetStar to confirm.

Unlimited but 30 GB at Max Speed over 15 days? What does that mean? 30 Giga Bytes of data at what speed?  Data is usually in bytes (MB or GB), speed in bits per sec (15 Mbps). It's just a meaningless jumble.

Your post seems a meaningless jumble. Max speed is the maximum speed available in your location up to 100 Mbps. The Tourist SIM definition of unlimited is the old one wherein you get an allowance at the maximum speed available and then the connection drops down to 384 kbps.

What will happen when 5GB/15GB/30GB max speed is used up?

Internet speed will be throttled to 384 Kbps until the end of your package; either 4, 8 or 1 5 days.

Ha - Looking at the tourist rates available from Dtac,

    15-day Unlimited Internet
    30 GB
     at Max Speed

    599Baht

OK - So this looks like the solution - Is the process: Get the sim from an online vendor or would it work if get the sim (with a different tariff) from a 7/11 store and then apply the vendor code / USSD code?

Either can work. Though personally I would go with the USSD code method, as that would allow me to test the SIM at my location before applying a pack.

You definitely should go online for the promotions and flashsales.

There's promotions for 24 hours up to 1 year.

Even carriers have promotions on there Facebook page.

Ultimately I find packages in Thailand very reasonable.

I'm paying 399 baht for 20GB,5G,and unlimited calling.

5g Super Khum 399 a month no contract.

    299 for 4G.
