True, AIS and DTAC they all have 10 Mbps unlimited for new customers for 200 Baht a month with additional features. No need to buy anything at Lazada. If you change the provider you even can keep your old phone number. If you don't want to top up monthly simply put there enough money for a year.

What are the "additional features"? Only Truemove H with Hotspot access I've seen.

200 baht per month is 2400 baht per annum. He can buy the same for 1850 baht. So there can be a reason for buying via Lazada.

Applying the code yourself is best for the shorter term stays.

Traslate?shows how much you know about cockney rhyming slang, here's one for you einstein, how do,'es  old scutter translate into an older woman of questionable appearance and morality?

Yes, if it is rhyming slang, it will have a basis that can be translated. Apples and pears = Stairs.

    So tell me about "Sobs".

Why don't you answer my question, which was asked firstly, rather than trying to answer a question with another question? That is just deflection.

So once again, since you claim to be the expert on South London and cockney rhyming slang, how does 'sobs' relate to £?

I know it is sovereigns. But if you think you know better, tell us.

When you have done so, you can read my answer to your question.; I have never called nor heard anyone calling a prostitute an "old scutter".

Scutter AFAIK means excrement(nothing to do with cockney rhyming slang) So it can be used to describe a person of low standing.

    Waiting for your explanation....

...or you can just admit that you don't know and we can move on.

Dunno about serviio, but I have Plex, and right now we are in Bangkok and my kids are watching a "Steven universe" episode stored on my Synology server at home in Buriram. Neat isn't?

Do you use the Download Station with that?

Samsung has an app in the AppStore called “Plex”

This will scan your computer hard drive, where you have your avi files stored.

Most file creators are aware of the naming protocol, and Plex will catalogue your system and provide an amazing interface on your TV.

New files that you download on your computer will magically appear on your TV interface and you stream them over your WiFi. The transcoding and streaming is handled by your computer.

There is no need for a usb stick, No need for a android tv box or chrome stick - your TV is these things already.

Google YouTube “setting up plex” and you will see a multitude of tutorials. It’s not complicated at all.

Almost. You install Plex(nothing to do with Samsung) on your PC and install the App on the TV.

It is illegal, so why not call it so. Some growth hormone? 75K isn't really minor. People always down play things when it is something they are familiar with.

Did you read the article? It stating that nothing illegal was found...even though he is pointing at his fridge.

So perhaps it isn't illegal to own and utilise. Maybe the selling without a licence or work permit.

you need to convert the files into a codec that's supported by the TV

Too slow and primitive. A smart seedbox service will allow you to stream Torrents directly via the TV.

No need to download and save to a USB drive before you can try to play it, only to find you cannot because of missing codec.

    All

Millions all over the world survive well enough while not making sense, including many a poster here. You won't notice you don't have an SSD except when booting up or starting a big application or copying large files. But retirees have plenty of time.

That said, yep, they're quite nice to have. I have 4 of them, one just for Linux, and I'll always use an SSD for a system drive at minimum. However, OP didn't ask for that advice, it's off topic, and he, like all other posters, doesn't deserve to be browbeaten and called names by other posters obsessed with SSDs.

    Nonsense. ????

How would you notice that you don't have one? You only notice once you do have one.

It not just on boot up and transferring large files. That is just more nonsense. Every aspect of display is improved.

But nice you added that you actually use them on your every computer as a system drive.

So why are you trying discourage Khunheineken from fitting one?

Let me guess, because you are desperate for an argument with someone...anyone.

He doesn't need to have asked about it, to be given the advice to fit one at the same time as changing OS.

It is sound advice. Whereas your argument, about him being a retiree and having time to waste, is truly pathetic and insulting. Not only to him, but to any other retiree.

Why don't you just stop digging for a while?

No one here agrees with you. They all agree that fitting an SSD at the same time makes good sense. Even you think it's a good thing, but yet here you are arguing about the fact that it was suggested.

    Perverse.

I'm currently "locked" to my AIS sim as it's connected to my bank and some three social media apps. It does require some hassle to change the number on the apps and on my bank.

My porting opportunities hence are True and Dtac. Any good deals at the moment, that you know of? ????

It's surprisingly hard to find the packages of each operator (IMHO), so I'm thankful for all the guidance.

If you will port, then as been oft repeated, there is 4 Mbps & 10 Mbps unlimited available for 150 & 200 baht per month.

But you'll need to check if you can get those speeds with the other networks where you live.

Oh, you got me there. I missed that one...

    I figured it was 6mbps.

Does it apply to the 6mbps package too? Guess not.

    Sorry for my misunderstanding.

You have to use the codes you quoted earlier. There is no 6 Mbps package and certainly not one for 1200 baht. You most definitely quoted the 6 month 1 Mbps package. Don't over complicate things in your mind.

Can you see a 6 Mbps package in that list? What is shown is what is available; 1 4 & 10.

    Thanks for that.

I assume that the 60gb is the limit per month ?

and yes the separated link is a lot less than the other vendors, suspicious.

No need to assume. You can use the translate function or write to the vendor. But it looks like 60 GB slowing down to 128 kbps until the beginning of the new month period, wherein it resets.

Thanks for this ,i will give it to my son when he comes again at the weekend ,things that take me hours to figure out he does in a minute , just like when we were young ,lol

That involves having to convert the video. Not a good solution, as it's a bit of a waste of time.

If the TV cannot play them, you have a couple of choices. Buy a standalone media decoder that plugs in to the TV via HDMI or use a service that allows to to stream your content via the TV.

I have a similar issue, in that my TV cannot play certain MP4 media via USB.

But I use a service that allows me to stream the same MP4 media via the TV's Browser. I pay 90 baht per month to get that and more.

    This post intrigued me.
I'm currently logged in to the AIS website. It says my sim is 3 years old: (Pic 1).

However, if I click at the "apply internet package" I get these packages that are "nowadays" data capped at pretty low levels IMHO (they wasn't last year). (Pic 2)

Do I understand correctly that there's no data cap if I have a sim that's older than 1th of march 2019 (which I believe I have) and I dial one of the packages-codes mentioned above?

    1. Top up with 1200 baht
    2. Open my phone and dial: *777*7328#   (6 months *777*7328# 1200 baht )
    3. Celebrate? ????

I'm sorry if my questions are beginner level. I'm tearing my hair about this, because I want to set it up correctly when I land next month and not hassle too much with it.

    Bless this board.

    1st of Feb.

Yes to all of the other statements.

Though you should turn data off when applying the credit, as if you use even one baht before applying the code, it won't work as you'll then have 1199 baht...

But will you be happy with 1 Mbps?
