  1. I was about to say it is not a live to ground 'explosion' but just saw Crossys reply and he is fully right.

It's exothermic welding of the wire with the rod.

Another term used is Cad Welding.

In this case the process was disturbed with impurities and perhaps insufficient putty closing around the 'pot'.

It's not beautiful but the connection will be there, check if the cable is sturdy welded (try to pull it) and leave it if it's strong.

It's not smooth; Put something (but no acidity like soil) over it so that rain/water doesn't come on it and reside in the holes to avoid the water 'eat' trough the iron but make sure it can vent.

I use an old paint spray can cap here on the rod, no thermic weld but copper clamp, to protect feets accidentally walking against the rod :whistling: .

  2. Shdmn; It's not the washer-man his kettle that tripped the CB but his iron.

Maybole, maybe your iron has internal issues and the electricity flows back trough the earth wire to protect you.

It is possible that the third socket hasn't the earth connected and the iron works 'fine'.

A steam iron, plausible that water seeped inside the iron.

That you, at time of building the house, did choose to use earth wire is a good thing.

Most kettles here are only using the live and neutrals, but irons use all three wires.

They did not need to do 90 day reports before and not until after September 26th now

Immigration seems to want people that normally do 90 day reports that are on long stay extensions or visas that skipped them to do them in August.

And for avoiding the need to go to the immigration office by doing it online.

I have to do it (going to the office) , and have time to do so before the 31th of august if I am right.

Do tourists have to do 90 day reporting??

    No.

Tourists can't stay longer then 90 days.

First 60 days on a TV (Tourist Visa) and that can be extended with another 30 days.

(Only in special cases, where another 30 days is required which needs a letter from embassy yes then in principle tourist had to report but then you have a extension based on specific reason, medical or anything, so not tourist anymore)

Now with the amnesty, tourists don't need to register the 90 day reporting.

That can happen if the database the system checks cannot be accessed. It means your record cannot be found.

If I enter the ref number from the last time, it is still there, with a approved mark.

The record is there, even if I entered my passport information instead of the REF number.

I get the results from the last 3 years (Current passport).

    So something else is playing.

Do you mean when your next 90 day report is due.

When completing the the online report you should get a email telling you has been approved. And or you can go back onto  the site to check the status of your application and print out your next appointment date that is the receipt for your report.

Hmmm.... email.. going to check that if it says the date,  the due date isn't on the confirmation screen and the approval report(status of application).

EDIT: I just checked at the status of the last application online, and I can see under the screen 'The Next Appoinment'  , then it would be there..

I clicked on it but nothing happens.

Late yesterday and there are already at least 2 topics about it.

Is the other topic regarding the amnesty for expired visa/extensions (and including amnesty for reporting) or a topic on reporting online of 90 days?

I tried reporting online, I can't get past the first step.

I still want to report (online), I don't care if there is an amnesty on that.

  9. So this effectively means that those on expired extensions and visas can stay until September 26th.

Then needing to go abroad to get a new visa. Then we only can hope Penang or KL will be open for us without quarantine and coming back vice versa.

I'm on non-o (vol) visa, last extension which was not made and if so would be due to the 17th of august on which then the 'one-year-visa-limit' has reached.

('One Year Limit' ; non-o volunteer visa gets a stay of 3 months mostly which can be extended three times up to 360 days since arrival in Thailand).

In case wilai is wrong, I'll go for Willy and Rene Van Der Kerkhoff. Presumably Holland count as one of the 5 teams.

With the national team Netherland included, they played three teams together.

Seems that there are more twins and playing in the same teams ????

Futcher, de Boers, and the Kerkhofs..
