No way. Hangover 2 scene was in Tilac Bar, Soi Cowboy. Look at the decor.

Long Gun has hardly changed at all. Hasn't been renovated/modernized like many others. Still quite reasonable compared to some.

I'm a bit behind the times, but I've just found out that TrueVisions won't be showing EPL for the next few seasons at least. JAS have won the rights to broadcast EPL until 2028. That means you may be able to watch a live match on free Thai Channel Mono29, and also streaming on Monomax. Interesting to see how this all pans out.

Hangover 2.

The place was definitely more fun back in the 90s. Women are a lot more professional these days. Back then the customers were around 95% western. Now it's about 50% with the other 50% mostly Chinese & Japanese. Yes, the old bars like Moonshine, Suzy Wong & Long Gun & are still there, but how are Spice Girls, Deja Vu & Rio nowadays?

So much better in the 90s than today. Watch out for the ripoff bars. It certainly has changed a lot.

...... however, it's believed that half of the Thai people interviewed were sitting outside a weed shop.

Thailand wanting to improve safety standards just because they are losing out on tourists & money ... typical. Safety should be the priority anyway.

There's also an ice-cream parlour not far from me in the mostly Thai area. Hardly any customers. There's a 7-11 across the street with much cheaper ice-cream. I'll be surprised if it's still around next year.

These kinds of threads always surprise me. Are MBK & other places allowed?

I saw the opening of a beauty clinic in a plaza/office building. The owners & staff were so excited. Friends arriving with gifts & flowers. Less than a year later it was gone. Same happened to a hair salon in the same building. Lack of customers & rent would have been high. Another place was a sukiyaki kind of restaurant near where I live. The problem was it's a Thai area, there are many street vendors & a local market not far away. Thai people will usually pay just 40/50 baht. The sukiyaki style place lasted about a year.

I often walk around my neck of Bangkok. I notice new shops, cafes, restaurants, beauty clinics, hair salons etc. I say to myself, that one won't be here this time next year, and I'm usually right. I understand people like the idea of having their own business, but seriously ... the location is poor, not enough market, too much competition, prices too high, too many locals & not enough tourists. But, many people still want to try.

Never say never, but would be really surprised if it jumped to 2 mil. If you transfer money that would be 165,000 baht a month, up from 65,000.

The battle for Champions League places is all that's left for the Premier League now. Should be an interesting scrap. Newcastle have a great chance. 👍
