Point taken. But that is relevant to the education offered to (probably) immigrants to the UK  and therefore an omission of relevance to the UK .

In fairness, swimming lessons and cycling proficiency are rarely funded by LEAs these days.

Swimming lessons and cycling proficiency were part of the curriculum in primary and junior schools (UK), but that was back in the 70s. Notwithstanding, I could already swim and ride a bike by then, but the lessons were invaluable, nonetheless.

I fully understand that. The focus of my post was ( I intended) that water safety is something a tourist perhaps should have acquired in evidence of financial capacity to be a tourist.

The reality is that the leading  cause of death of children in Thailand is drowning.

    Appreciated.

I'm a strong swimmer, but I avoid the sea. Too many variables that can lead to death. Simple as that.

It is not so often that a drowning off a tourist beach involves a Thai and is unikely a tourist is interested in dedicating time to such a information regardless .

But perhaps a mandatory educational attempt would be a well made effort to offset the sad and sickening drowning annual  death rates of Thai children that occur  more often than  not in locations  far far from the sea.

That is not to say that a mature  male tourist  does not deserve some sympathy for a death due to  presumed ignorance of known risk.

It's fair to say a lot of Thais can't swim. This also includes a lot of Indians and Africans.

An adventurous non-swimmer can soon find themselves in a life or death situation and invariably involves cooling off in the heat where they're lured to their deaths.

If I knew. Try and error?

My last FAX was about 10 years ago from an internet cafe in Pattaya.

Tips about printers with FAX: nice but how many here have an "analog" telephone connection? Installation of new ones for private users has been ended as far as I know.

    Digital is the way forward.

The endless "FAX service on internet" tips might be useless if the bank really expects a proper FAX with sender number (from Thailand?).

I don't think the bank is interested, as long as it's delivered by fax.

I am not going to sign up to possibly some scam site that starts billing me every month for sending one fax. If that's reluctance, tough titty.

I note you edited your original post to remove go annoy someone else.

Okay then, I've tried to help as have many others on this thread.  Good bye and good luck. Ignore.

I made it very clear from my first post that I wanted to use somewhere locally to send a fax, nobody has actually provided than information. Go hassle someone else.

You were provided that information already in the form of use the local internet cafe. But it's not free.

That we are remembering these says something about the impact they had on us!!!

...or our age. Haha. Joking aside, millions of kids viewed these PiFs, particularly as there were only three channels back then, so captive audience (in between Grange Hill).

Wasn't a member of Tufty Club, but was in the Cubs, Scouts and Army Cadets with their strong emphasis on health and safety. I also passed my cycling proficiency in juniors.

No, but I'm not about to give credit card details to some company that can start charging monthly fees whether I use the service or not. I see too many people been scammed in the reviews. I asked if anyone knew of a LOCAL place where I can pay for them to send a fax for me.

Strange OP, to be honest. The answer has been provided in various forms but you're still not happy.

Why didn't you mention your reluctance in the OP.  There's no helping some people.

You only get free after you sign up for a plan, give credit card details etc. I think there is no such thing as a "free" fax.

So you'll have to pay a small fee either way whether using a digital service or going to the local internet cafe.

What is it that you're actually looking for?  A completely free service?

Thank you everyone. I found some of the previous bills, so maybe it didn't go up as much as it seems.

That's interesting, but like you say, your bills do appear quite high for a very small 1-bedroom home.

Two quick questions if I may, a) when was the last time the units were cleaned by a professional; and b) how long and at what temp(s) are you running the units?

  12. I work in London, though WFH majority of time since lockdown. I send and receive faxes all the time on behalf of my employer, but there're no physical fax machines in the office or my home.

Fax is now a hybrid of digital and analogue technology.  I can send and receive faxes to/from a traditional fax machine with no issue. Alternatively, I can send and receive faxes to/from a digital service.

There's a misconception these days that any mention of a fax means a dusty old machine spitting out A4 paper all day. All I see is an on screen pdf.

I just got our monthly bill for a very small 1-bedroom home and it was 6,200 baht.

    What was last month's bill?

About six months ago the neighbor had someone update the wiring into his house.

Has the monthly bill been increasing since then?  As previous poster mentioned, aircon units require regular maintenance.

I won't  be booking Eva again as they gave my pre-booked aisle seat to a supposedly needier person alongside my family and moved me to a cramped window seat on the other side of the plane

That's a royal pain and it's not like it's optional either. I suspect at least half of these so-called needier people are pulling fast ones and I've seen it with my own eyes, although I've never experienced anything of the sort in business class, which is surely down to available space, i.e. business class customers have no need to pull a fast one because there's no discernable benefit, whereas in economy...

Not sure falling over on the travelator is EVA's fault, although appreciate you were obviously wound up by the earlier game of musical chairs.

  15. Not a criticism, but the fast up button doesn't appear to add much to overall navigation.

The 'Home' button does same thing, although appreciate not when the cursor is in the reply field. I subscribe to many online forums, and a fast up button isn't high on the list of upgrades for most.
