It has been reported that some do not.
I do not get the impression that hotels have been very well informed of T&G rules.
How on earth can hotels keep you after a negative result, would that not be imprisonment?
That's the whole point, you're controlled until proved negative ( twice ) and then you're free ( likely to get infected - lol ).

And you can judge how seriously they take 'us' by employing so few who speak anything other than Thai, when the vast majority of their 'clients' do not.
I would suggest that people from neighbouring countries are the vast majority of 'clients', not farangs. They would speak Thai.

Some will let you leave after a negative result comes back. None will let you leave before that.
You can order room service or have food delivered from outside.
I think the poster was refering to while you wait for results to come back, ie check in and test and then leave for meals ( or whatever ) and then return to hotel and wait for results.
I would suspect most people would leave the minute they receive a negative result, i know i will be.
ALL will let you leave after negative result, why would n't they?

if meals are not included does that mean you can leave for meals? since the individual has been around in public for 5 days already allowing that would make sense but it doesnt say if leaving is allowed
You will not be allowed to leave the hotel.

you can just put down your ‘intended duration of stay’ as 30 days
Yes, that's my answer.
I begrudge paying my annual medical insurance even one day early.

The claim by @FalangKino that "Everything to do with immigration in this country is so unnecessarily difficult" is false.
(my emphasis)
Nothing at immigration here is easy.

says a man, i assume, coming alone. if thailand is serious about tourism it needs to attract families, more bang for your buck if you like, and this tourism model will not encourage families who can holiday cheaper and easier elsewhere.
Did you read my other post stating that it's not worthwhile for families but good for long term expats that travel frequently, guess not?

Why not just quit? It is especially harmful as you get old. Read my post on Baclofen. It really could save your life.

A good hotel, my wife's sister stayed there in December under T&G ver1.0
Yeah, my brother did as well.
As mentioned, they're also very responsive with e-mail or messaging which is important for me.

There are 3 "J" offerings. The J Inspired Hotel, The Hotel J Residence and The Hotel J Pattaya all on the same site I believe. I think the poster you quoted would have been looking at the first one:
On this site:
As you can see it includes airport transfer.
I contacted the hotel directly.
I've always found this best, it gives you an idication of how responsive they are at responding to e-mails / Whatsapp / Line etc.
J Hotel were very good fyi.

It might be gutted when it finds out just how many potential tourists feel exactly the same way.
Doubt it, it seems not to have bothered them one bit in the past 2 years.

But then, as I'm not arriving from overseas I don't need to be escorted like a prisoner to my hotel (do they still do that, or has it been dropped?) and I don't need to take any tests despite me being triple-vaccinated. Visitors to the country are being gouged. Welcome sir, special (high) price for you tonight.
So what's the your point of posting??
Nothing or merit here at all.

Re-entry permits at the best of times are not very clear in my experience.

Returning Thais are not exempt, so it's not just tourists that are getting the shaft, it's everyone entering Thailand.
