NYT would be rejoicing in this catastrophe as it affords them an avenue to attack Trump.  The deaths of thousands are inconsequential to NYT "journalists."

Your cognitive dissonance is staggering. I wish I could speak doublespeak as fluently as you but then it would probably be triple speak. Hail Trump , oh and I'm so sorry. MAGA.

That headline mirrors my exact thoughts recently.

This virus may well have passed its peak by the end of the year and those left can try to get back to normal. If Trump wins again then God help America and the world for we will truly be on the road to ruin. I fear we are now in the 1930s attitudinally wise and this is just the beginning of worse things to come. And the assembly of idiots will cheer the great pretenders into the portals of power oblivious to the bloody fate that awaits those that forget the lessons of history.

Andrew Cuomo and the American people  - find a way to for him to stand - the world needs a man like you in the world's greatest country. Cometh the hour cometh the man. Hope not Hate.

    I panic purchased yesterday.

Normally I buy me booze as its consumed but felt it wise to buy for the month coming instead.

In the UK I'm stockpiling booze mostly spirits and wine. As the pound may get hammered, taxes may go up and supply chains get disrupted. Tis a one way bet at the moment with 'fiat' . In my local Tesco today the booze aisles were 70% empty.

  4. When this crisis is over the Tories are going to deliver a socialism that Corbyn could only have dreamed of before the crisis. Nationalisation, massive funding for the NHS and a huge statist approach to service delivery that we haven't seen since the war. Either the rich accept a huge redistribution of wealth back to the working classes or face extinction. In the Uk we like evolution not revolution Thailand I'm not so sure. The bankers, Branston and their ilk will find that hands out for bailouts is not a good look as ordinary people try to get back to normal and rebuild their lives. Turns out there's not just a magic money tree but a bleedin magic money forest....a National Government beckons - bring it on.

As I write, Rishi Sunak still leads the National Government.  Some point to the injustice of events: after all, he was no less implicated by them than Johnson.  But that’s politics, isn’t it?  Keir Starmer is Deputy Prime Minister.  Ed Davey, Communities Secretary.

  5. Funny how when the stock markets were soaring and they could buy any sort of cheap sh*t from China these newly enobled freedom lovers and carers about human rights were noticeably silent. Now they roar back into life apeing their master's voice drunk on the comments section of Breibart with their new found organic principles. Pathetic really. The money they spend in their retirements was minted in the Clinton/Obama era and yet pour scorn on the hands that fed them preferring to tilt their windmills at an egotistical , narcissistic known serial liar peddling cheap jibes and ruining everything he touches.

I honestly cannot figure out what you are attempting to communicate here.

I mean, sure, I understand that it is some form of virtue signaling, but the whole thing is quite a mess.

A useful technique is, before you starting typing, work out what you want to say and try to imagine that you are saying it to someone who is unable to read your mind or understand your more obscure references. Jot all that down on a piece of paper, and then wait until you sober up.

You've just wiped out half of TVF. !!!

Thank you. And let everybody remember the truth of your words. They covered up this outbreak, they brutalized the initial Dr that diagnosed a novel coronavirus in Wuhan. They did everything wrong they possibly could do. And while 40 odd % of Americans are still blaming Donald Trump for this epidemic, I think most can lay the blame where it is deserved. The Chinese Communist Party.

Covering up the CCP's actions just because communism is all wonderful and progressive at present, sends the wrong signal. The signal the appeasers are sending is next time China causes a viral outbreak they will again try and cover it up. May as well if the darlings in the western media go along with it.

Because western leaders never appeased then did they ? Even when all what you infer was more than known. A curse on all their houses.

“He’s now president for life, president for life. And he’s great,” Trump said, according to audio of excerpts of Trump’s remarks at a closed-door fundraiser in Florida aired by CNN. “And look, he was able to do that. I think it’s great. Maybe we’ll have to give that a shot someday,” Trump said to cheers and applause from supporters.

A bit more, after the above condo was on the market for maybe 8 to 10 months one viewer offered 20MBaht. Fifty% deposit, pay off the balance with monthly payments of 500,000Baht (20 months). Owner scoffed at/instantly rejected the offer, now very much regrets it.

When the Chinese come back (which they will eventually) they will want car-smash carnage blood on those prices. Oh higher priced units 50% off what they could have got year ago will be the starting asking price. Then they will airbnb it or some such like and then the block has gone to the dogs , each sale going ever lower. Oh and Indians will be sniffing around most probably as well. The sun is truly setting on the Pattaya Farang Journey and what a hell of a journey it has been.

They are indeed all Democrats.... which seems like an odd coincidence under the circumstances... why the virus has struck their areas more than others thus far.

But I wasn't going to mention that, lest someone here try to mistake lack of presidential leadership with partisanship.

No we can't mention THAT - it's an article of faith for many - they literally worship HIM (not Jesus though in case you are confused).

  10. In a crisis I can see the rough justice of Thai hospital beds being for Thai people being a triage consideration. Unless you can flash large amounts of cash but enough well connected Thais might be needing them as well.

It's one thing lying to Daily Telegraph readers, but lying to a little seven year old girl?

    Monstrous.

To be fair to Boris it's easy not to get it if you are socially isolated and live on a desert island. That's not possible if you are PM.

  13. Sorry to hear that. It underlines the importance of taking this virus and disease seriously and not think it won't affect me. Now is not the time to be complacent particularly so when nearly all societies are paying a high price in lockdowns.

As per pandemic rules we are all probably going to get it in the end just have to hope that you get as mild version and if not  your body and the health service in your country is going to work when it does and not bankrupt you. Or if you can hang on and stay virus free then the vaccine will come down the tracks at a rate of knots. My wife and I are planning to stay virus free fro as long as possible. Keep safe folks and keep washing your hands and social distancing.

My wife buys meat at Makro, Tesco and the market. When it reaches our kitchen it is thoroughly washed and either put in the deep freeze or cooked thoroughly.  In 20 years in Thailand eating local food, I have never had a stomach upset except when eating at a seafood restaurant years ago in Phuket. Good kitchen hygiene is far more important than whether the chicken is open. Far better than using plastic and styrofoam trays to sell it.

Clean food Good Taste one of Thaksin's many initiatives.
