  1. What does this even mean?

** Relaxation of lockdown measures and living in the UK that began to return to a near normal state It provides convenient access to local medical services in your residence. You can also use the service to easily obtain such documents online. Embassy Therefore request to suspend the health check-up service to issue Fit to Fly certification from August 2020

I don’t think you 2 know what’s involved about the cost of tests more so it has to be writing.and the results can take a couple days,  in the U.K. is over £150 per test.
As all the flights currently are from London I live 400 kilometres from London tryIng to line all the tests etc would be extremely difficult.

Same here plus my GP practise are reluctant to issue any certificates for anything at the moment not to mention a few weeks wait for an appointment!

There is no hope of me making it out to LOS at the minute even though Emirates flights are now permitted.

I wonder what the costs to those teachers that have made it out to Thailand from the likes of Canada have been.

For me here they are just too high to warrant putting myself through the hoops.

Just back from Corfu . Last minute flight return from Dublin   €113... week’s accommodation €240  And Very cheap on the ground . Fresh air and clean blue seas and hot sunny weather ...

I'm actually very tempted to do just that as I'm less than an hour from Dublin and I've never been to Greece.....looks like Thailand is out for me and with it a job lol.

Special flight from London announced a couple of days ago. This flight is not for Thais. Thais cannot register for this flight.

This registration will secure your seat on the flight.
The registration will be closed on 18 August 2020 and the DCA will finalise the passenger list and get back to the registers (via registered email) on 20 August 2020 so that the registers can make the payment with Thai Airways.
Please note that, all the seats are on first-come-first-served basis.

**PLEASE REGISTER ONLY ONCE PER PASSENGER**

After registration, DCA will hand over the list to Thai Airways.

For more inquiries, please contact (+66) 02-203-5000 ext. 33104 or [email protected].

    Economy seat £780

    Business£2900

    ASQ £1500+

They can get in the sea! lol  Are the International schools going to foot this bill?

  6. Two of my past pupils are currently teaching in Bkk. Salary 90K each.....flights and insurance paid. To put that in perspective thats only a few hundred quid short of my salary here in UK and I've been teaching 23 years.

At present I am on a career break here...I have a job in Thailand but:

Covid test £200 (could be a little more or less)

Flight out of LHR £2800 one way (repat flight if I can get it)

ASQ Lucky if you can find any less than £1500

    Fit to fly £30 - £50

    Flight to LHR £150 - £250

There is absolutely no way I am shelling out that amount of cash to head out to what was LOS and now seems to be descending into chaos.

The downside.......I'm not permitted to work here at home on a career break......Joy abounding!
