    No.

To apply for the Non O with the 400k in your bank on day of application.

That process is outlined in link I posted earlier.

The fact that you have a Thai bank account in your name only makes it easy process in your situation .

As for time constraint you can obtain a 60 day extension "to visit wife"  from your visa exempt entry.

The option of obtaining the Non O in country also good option.

Ermmmm, 60 day extension is where I ran into problems before. I got a 90 day non O in from the UK. after entering Thailand I went to immigration at 3 months to extend but the most they said they could do was 60 days.  Am I missing something?

I am concerned with coming on a tourist visa (no Visa) because I only have one way flight, I understand, if they check I would need return flights to enter as a tourist

I want to remain in Thailand forever.

Assume your wife is Thai  national (not clear)

You have an option of entering Thailand visa exempt exempt and obtaining non O based on marriage at immigration in Thailand.

Assume that you have a Thai bank account in your name only.

Sorry, yes my wife is a Thai national. I have a Bangkok Bank account in my name.

I wanted to obtain the Spouse Visa prior so we have a clear 3 months (ish) to concentrate on songkran, mods to house, farming etc etc.

I understood (maybe incorrectly) that it was harder to obtain a spouse visa within Thailand because I would need 400k in my thai bank account for at least 3 months before applying

Sounds good, £1000 + for SE non-O, so £10k in UK bank ideal for application.

The 400k needs to be in the Thai Bank 2 months before the extension application.

The have modified the e-visa for the TR so don't know if the non-O bit has changed as 9 months since I did one......

Best getting the visa soon as roumors of a bit of a price increase maybe 19 Mar.

(Did she give you and email noting she is aware of, invites your visit. Copy of marraige cert, copy of ID or Thai passport. Though I don't know if the supporting docs fields are still the same)

My Wife lives with me in the UK but we have decided to move to TH.

I'd like to apply today or tomorrow but stuck as the e-visa website doesn't specify "Spouse Visa" so I have no idea which Visa type I'm meant to apply for LOL.

    I have:

    bank statements

    passport (both wife and I)

    Wife thai ID

    Marriage Cert

    Thai Address

One way tickets for the flight

  4. Hi,

I'm travelling to Thailand on the 3rd April. I would like to stay in Thailand indefinitely so based on what I have read on google I thought I would need to apply for 90 day Non O - Visa online then convert / apply for a 1 year Visa in Thailand. However when I visit the thai e-visa website I cannot see an option for spouse Visa, the closest option seems to be stay with this family.

I am under 50, have the required 400,000bht in a UK bank although I can transfer to my Thai bank if necessary.

Try a government hospital, I am being treated at Bhumipol (RTAF) hospital and my total drugs bill was 6,900 baht that included 3x30 Xarelto 20mg (bill not itemised).

Years ago I was buying from Withoon Pharmacy in Saphan Kwai for around 3,500 a box of 30.

Wow that's a really good price! all the threads I have seen previously said it was between 4000-5000bht a box of 30 or 100-200bht per tablet depending on where it was purchased.

    Hello

Name here is Xarelto. Exists in 10 and 20 mg.

I am under 20 mg for years. Purchased last week in Fascino 5139 bahts for 30 tablets (before was 28 per box).. a few years back price was close to 7000 for 28 tablets

    Have a good day

Hi, I take Xarelto 20mg but  5000bht a month is a hell of price. I had to purchase some in the UK a couple of years ago and it was 8000bht (£163) than. I believe (hope)  the patent expires soon so hope there will be a cheaper generic option

Ask your cardiologist on switching to Lixiana 60mg (Edoxaban).

I was on Rivaxoaban and in 2022 I went back to UK NHS hospital for treatment and they changed it to Lixiana.

I order it it from Medisafe in Bangkok and its 3100 Baht for 28 tablets. Best to use the Line app when ordering and its delivered to the house by Thai post office EMS.

On my last cardio appointment the Doc suggested cutting the tablet in half so to save myself some money!

I am on other meds for CHF and I purchase them all from Medisafe and I live up country in Phetchabun.

    https://www.drugs.com/uk/lixiana.html

Edoxaban is certainly a cheaper option and is slightly better than Rivaxoaban at preventing DVT or PE but it comes with a far higher risk of GI Bleeds and Intracerebral hemorrhage so for that reason I'd prefer to stay on Rivaxoaban

The gold standard for blood thinners is Eliquis(apixaban). Very little bleed risk compared to warfarin. There was a thread recently and I believe @Sheryl posted the generics available in Thailand.

Mail order would be the best source for price regardless of where you live in Thailand. Sources in the same thread.

I read the results of a study conducted in Thailand on: Edoxaban, Apixaban, Dabigatran and Rivaxoaban compared to Wafarin. That study showed that in most cases Apixaban was comparable to Wafarin for serious side effects;  Rivaxoaban in most cases was the safest. Here is a link to that study: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9961808/

Side effects are shown in Table 1 with GI Bleed and ICH being the 2 most serious by far; I will say Rivaxoaban slightly worse results for the prevention of DVT and PE (VTE) but I have an IVC filter so these aren't of too much concern.

  9. Hi,

I found a similar thread after a google search but couldn't find it in the forum so Mods please feel free to consolidate this post.

I am taking Rivaxoaban and will shortly be moving near to KK; would you happen know where I can purchase this medication and its price? I know it was originally close to 5000bht a month (crazy)  but have been informed that prices have dropped recently.

If this is a no go I may consider jumping back on Wafarin but honestly hate the amount of things it clashes with and the need to do INR tests every week or 2.

    Thank you

    Are you serious.

    It appears your married.

You can apply for 60 day extension to visit wife.

You state that you have non O based on marriage.

You can apply for 12 month extension based on marriage.

    That has financial requirements.

Best you do basic research and ask AseanNow forum for advice.

I was serious about Immigration officer offering to do a 1 year Visa and put 400,000 in my bank which got me questioning whether I actually needed my marriage cert or if he was just trying to be difficult.

I do normally research or ask questions on here but I have been very busy with the final stages of a house build. Because I had provided all evidence when I applied for the Visa, I thought going to Immigration was just to confirm I staying longer, I appreciate this is my mistake but thank you for clarifying

  11. I went to my local Immigration Beau in Khon Kaen today with my Non O visa, passport, proof of insurance fully expecting them to simply issue a 60 or 90 day extension but they said that they needed to see my marriage certificate which I didn't take. Do they really need to see this?

Apart from the fact that the immigration officer offered to fix me a one year visa for 20k this seemed a little odd as I submitted marriage cert proof of finances etc to get the Non O so didn't think they'd need to see this info again.

I will go back to immigration in a few days with Marriage cert but your advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Your setv gives 60.

It can be extended by 30

You can obtain 60 day extension to visit wife = 5 months.

Personally I would get the non O and the 60 to visit wife. 90+ 60.

Depending on ongoing plan you could do the 12 month extension to the non O (only needs 400k in bank for 2 months). Buy a reentry permit and with correct timing next visit easy.

The 400k in bank for 2 months is a probably as I will be applying have vIsa next week and my bank has next to nothing in it at the moment as all my moneys in investments

  13. After going on the evisa website and entering my dates which total 149 days it says I need to apply for a 60 day tourist Visa so is this an option as opposed to a Non-immigrant-O visa? I assume I get 60 days, renew for another 60 and then 30?

    More details:

Total stay 5 months for holiday and visit Wifes family, I am under 50yrs if that makes a difference.

Why are you wanting the STV? It is not shown on the UK embassy website now since you apply online for it. See: https://thaievisa.go.th/

Info for STV is here on another embassy website. https://thaiembdc.org/2020/12/10/stv/

You can apply for a single entry non-o visa based upon marriage to a Thai that will allow a 90 day entry that can be extended for 60 days to visa your wife that will allow you the 5 month stay you want.

For the non-o visa there is no requirement for 40/400k baht medical insurance, background check and etc. You will only need the 50k baht insurance valid for 90 days.

    Thanks for your help.

I do have a couple of concerns. Firstly When I apply and send details of my return flight that shows I will be in Thailand for 5 months will that not cause issues as the non-O visa is only valid for 3 months?

The other thing is that they ask for bank statements but all my money in in Stocks/Shares and Crypto, how can I get around this; sell some shares and move the money into bank?

Sorry for all the questions, this is all new to me

  15. My Thai wife and I are heading to Thailand from the UK at the start of January 2022 for 5 months. I have already bought the flights, insurance and PCR test. My intention was to enter Thailand on a STV but it seems they no longer offer this. I went onto the Thailand Pass website and note that I cannot apply through this route if I intend to stay longer than 30 days which I assume means my only option is to apply from a non-immigrant Type O visa?

    Is this my only option?

    Thanks in advance

Not, in fact until the whole world has been vaccinated. They won't feel confident about tourism until it has.

That's exactly my point, Thailands biggest tourism markets: China, Russia, USA, UK and Europe are going to be at least 6-12 months ahead of Thailand in vaccinating their whole population so while these countries with have millions of tourists wanting to going to Thailand, tourists will not go if they have to jump through hoops and do as 14 day quarantine. Thailand need to pull their finger out and get the whole population vaccinated ASAP.
