Good luck with that.
Government subsidies merely distort the market (both supply & demand) and 'benefit' (in the short term) the rich as well as the poor. They also distort or kill the evolution to alternative means of transport (eg in Thailand's case, decent railways both inter- and intra-city).

They may market it it as a subsidy but in reality it is just a reduction of tax, for the diesel.

Doing this for my daughter after her birthday. Read somewhere that all passport applications from overseas have to be done on line. I thought it had to be done at the Trendy building in Bangkok? Perhaps it was just an agency or someone trying to drum up trade. Anyone just done it???

Plenty of yoghurt on the shelves I see??

Interesting topic as my 16 year old daughter has shown interest in becoming a dentist, here in Thailand. Starting off on your own business has to be very expensive, and locally seem to be everywhere. I didn't even realize that government hospitals do dentistry. Good news about being a dentist is she could go to the UK and get well paid even being an NHS dentist as she has a UK passport.

I buy only long life now and have plenty so haven't looked. The reason I buy long life is in April I threw away one 2 litre bottle of full fat milk with 4 days left on best before date, and a bag of milk not dated which was off when I opened it.

There are private hospices around that will do end of life care. Unfortunately it comes at a cost, however it is much cheaper than Europe or the US.

Would like to see what the teachers are having for their lunch , just for comparison....
corruption in everything here ,
regards Worgeordie
Where I taught the teachers ate the same. I couldn't eat everything (me being fussy) but the food wasn't bad. Had a little soup usually then rice and meat etc. with a piece or slice of fruit. If no fruit a small desert. I guess it's all down to the school and how well the school polices it's food contractors. The school was at Ban Chang and the kids did OK.

Not going there again, went 2 years ago for a key not locking the car- could not find out why. All it needed was a new battery, they always aver charge and make you wait all day.
Having issues with my Toyota dealer too. Love the vehicles but will have to to think long and hard about buying a new one, which is due soon. Toyota need to check on their dealerships or will lose custom.

There are anti rabies vaccinations in every hospital /clinic in Thailand
Went to two clinics no rabies vaccine. Gave up and went to Bangkok Pattaya Hospital, annoying due to the distance. 4 or 5 times too.

I took a look at my stepson's timetable once - the amount of time spent on Buddha and what I call 'I love Thailand' lessons was unbelievable. In essence there's nothing wrong with teaching such subjects but when it comes to them taking preference over the core subjects, in my opinion, there is - and very much so. In addition, from what I could make out, his history lessons were almost completely related to Thailand's royal dynasties.
The job of a school is to provide a child with the basic skills they will need for their lives and careers. Hopefully that will also lead to higher education with more of a leaning towards their vocation and self deveopment. Through these skills, disavantaged children may be able to achieve social mobility - at least that's the model I was educated under.
Could it be that certain groups have little interest in people becoming socially mobile and don't want too many kids to become so educated that they start to think for themselves?
When teaching it was amazing how many times the kids didn't show for a lesson. Asking why reasons were, Gone to Temple. Not finished scouting lesson. Have to visit nurse. Not back from swimming lesson. This was the whole class.

You can renew it whenever you want.
Yes an agent is the easiest and cheapest option unfortunately.
Cheapest? Please explain.

Wish he'd leave the circus at home for a while and actually get down to making the top level fights (Usyk, Joshua, etc) that he's negotiated himself out of recently.
Agree, but this is easy money.

Mine's the same hot showers on hot days lasting up to 15 mins. Fans and lights on all over the house when no one in the room. TV on all day but rarely watches it as she's on the phone.

Here in Bang Saray I have found it awful.
First I got a letter from my pension provider giving me 3 months to decide if I wanted to take my pension as a lump sum, great deal too! It arrived a month after the deadline date. A tax info letter took 6 months to arrive. Yesterday I found in my bank statement (internet) that my other pension had increased in April but had no letter advising future payments which is normally sent around December. I also have had no tax forms sent so it looks like I will have to download the forms locally and print them off.
But of course the worst thing is you never know if something has gone missing and it's unexpected, but important.
No wonder UK banks will not send bank or credit cards to Thailand.

I pause to wonder why this unfortunate kid was not in the UK getting an education vs living in a village and then allegedly and very sadly got involved in running drugs for the guy that ultimately confessed to murdering him?
This is assumption there is no evidence he was a drug dealer. If he was born here in Thailand or his family lives here, he wouldn't be at school in UK and not in Thailand either as it's school holiday. Do not place blame on his family. THIS IS MURDER.

There is nothing to be done for the boy. Assuming the man is guilty of the murder HE KNOWS what has happened to the girl. She is missing, she needs to be found alive or unfortunately dead. Lets hope the justice system works well and gives the man what he deserves. Never to be free again. Better to be searching than re-enacting.

Like the 90 day proof of Bt800,000 after your visa has been granted. Time consuming and pointless.

Just a few kilometres away at Nang Ram/Nang Rong beaches the reefs have been totally destroyed by dredging and silt from it. Curtesy of the oil refinery they have built at the port of Sattahip. So they have created a few square metres of reef possibly and destroyed 100's more. Unfortunately this reef creating has a very low success rate.

Hope this was a one off, and not setting a precedent or we will be living in a police state. Not a holiday destination.

Easily stopped, reduce the price to a similar level and it is unviable.

If you can swing it, it would be worth your while to return for a few months and get it uprated. I did that a couple of years ago and may well do that again next year.
Do you actually get the increase backdated. Say if you return next year would you be able to get the 10% rise for this year? I have tried to find this out by phoning without success.

CPR is VERY strenuous, just keeping it up for one minute is tough, especially if on your own and giving mouth to mouth too.

We already pay for the privilege of leaving Thailand which is now incorporated into the cost of the airfare. I can remember paying to leave at Don Muang at a kiosk after check in.
