I taught the solar system to P4 kids in English. I decided to do everything to scale. Sun was bigger than a basketball which we stuck to the board nearest the window and Neptune ended up outside the door. They were shocked how small the planets actually were. I was asked by one lad why I hadn't put the asteroid belt up. So I explained that they are so far apart from each other and so small, that NASA don't even take them into consideration when sending probes to Jupiter and beyond. Then blew the ones listening away after asking where they thought the nearest star might be in this scale. Beyond Bangkok. Nice to get some reaction, but science is always best for that. They are generally discouraged from asking questions as often the teachers can't answer, so lose face, and that can't happen.

Shame it's going, it's been really helpful for me sorting out my private pension issues. 20 to 30 calls over a six month period. Called HMRC on it several times this past year and kept waiting on the line for some time , very cheap so it didn't matter. Also had an issue when I had to call about the UK government pension several times again long queues for staff all cost less than 20 quid must have been on the phone for hours, in total. Also had a few calls to my bank in the UK. I use messenger or WhatsApp for personal calls to mobiles but that's no good for business.

All the relevant Thai goverments should hang their heads in shame detaining them for over 10 years. It would be hardly surprising if they actually had chose a return to China than continued incarceration in Thailand. Obviously they should have gone to Turker years ago.

Me too had a fever and got through that but can't shake off this awful cough. Definitely a virus maybe flu going in to the third week now drugs seem powerless.

Thailand is fine great places to visit on breaks. Sure it has its problems day to day many perhaps. The wife is here and she is great. Probably best thing I ever did, marry her. So if she's here I'm here.

Had to go to immigration recently. Looked at the beach at Jomtiem, loads of tourists sunbathing. Sky had what appeared to be brown grey clouds but were pollution. Not a chance of seeing koh larn. 200m max visibility. I wore a mask that day but I was pretty much alone in that. Tourists don't care or don't believe, I guess.

Watson razors are awful . Blunt before you even use them. Boots are a little better. Shavy wernt too bad but I can't find them these days. Bic not great so I've gone back to the expensive but best by far Gillette.

Infact the whole EV thing was all unproven either way. In the end time will tell. To be honest the basic engine technology has been around way over 100 years. Not much else has stayed the same, perhaps EVs are the way forward. Right now my Toyota Vigo is 17 years old and done over 300,000 km. Can't see EVs lasting that long. Most people in China it seems replace them after around 5 years and although most are still OK no one wants them. Maybe they will now due to the downturn in their economy.

I had forgotten about one of my main reasons for not buying an EV . So many times in the wet season local roads are flooded often in a foot or so of water. Very concerning with a large battery stored low down in a car. Battery replacement is NOT cheap. Wife kept showing me dead EVs on you tube. Not many but one even had red plates and a 800,000bht battery replacement as flood damage is not a warranty issue. Apparently it wasn't covered on her insurance either. OUCH.

I am a proud socialist. I believe everyone should be able to receive free but perhaps limited Healthcare. I believe everyone should have the right for free education. I believe the rich 1% should not control 90% of the world's wealth. However Trans people should not be allowed in Women's sport. Should not be allowed in Women's changing rooms or toilets. It's absolutely madness. I wonder how many men put on a dress to gain access to changing rooms and assault women. Calling themselves them when there is only one is just plain stupid. Take the Thai word Katoy or invent your own. But better still seek psychological help, thats where the issue lies.

I think the cleaning issue depends on the quality and age of the fryer. And of course what you actually put in them. Meat products are worse than chips or roasted spuds. The do great jacket spuds no cleaning required ( hardly).

Very true. However if I left the 800,000bht in the UK. 1. My wife couldn't access it easily should I pop my clogs quickly. Although I plan to set a trust fund for her and my daughter. 2.. It would end up in the probate and along with the house would push my estate into the inheritance tax bracket which is 40% . 3. Can always show it to any private hospital if required in an emergency along with the insurance so they could do what needs to be done, and to hell with the visa afterwards. Friend ended up emptying his account in Thailand to have an emergency procedure done. The hospital held back until he paid a deposit and proved he could pay the rest after. Sad but true.

Lining the tub with aluminum foil defeats the object of air frying. The air circulates and also comes from the bottom up. That's why the cooking tray has holes in it and it doest sit flush on the bottom. If HAS to circulate to cook evenly and properly.

Went up to Laos a while ago 12 hours driving. If I had to charge an EV it would have meant stopping overnight on the way. You still can't access charging points easily. I have seen queues for them so you may have to wait 3 to 4 hours before commencing your journey. Our 7 day holiday to Laos would have had to be 9, time which we didn't have. I think they are great for doing the school runs and travelling around the local area. I think time will tell how well they are made. BYD, ORA, ZEEKA and a few more seem well made, MG and Neta not so much. My friend in the UK has said his EV is great around town but going anywhere of distance requires planning. He also has noticed (some) charging stations charging very high prices making them almost a similar price as an ICE refuel. I looked long and hard at buying a new car. I wanted an electric car and solar panels on the house but I simply couldn't afford it. Didn't like the cheap electric cars, liked the Zeeker but couldn't afford it. In the end bought the WRV from Honda great little car 150k off. Big enough for us, (surprisingly big interior) 650,000 bht. Half the Zeeker price. Very happy with it.
